So I've heard a rumor that our current weapons and armor may not be included in the mod and random rolls update coming in the September update/expansion. This sickens me just a little bit. I'm not ready to part with my Better Devil's and Manannannananannananan SR4 combo, nor will I be when September rolls around. So why is it that we can't update popular weapons from Year 1 going into year 2?? Why am I hearing that I'll have to leave all my favorite weapons from year one behind if I want to progress in year 2?? Are all my masterworked legendary favs only going to be usable in PVP like what happened in the year 1 to year 2 transition in D1, all made useless by power level limits??

10 RepliesHonestly, I wouldn't mind a bit. Our armor right now is lame and ugly, what i think when I see the forsaken armor is badass space pirate. And I'll take new random rolled weapons any day over static weapons
-
2 RepliesWhat might happen is that you can infuse to higher light, but will not have random rolls , I would be ok with that for older gear.
-
Exotics are carrying over so the epic faction rally grind for catalysts will at least mean something. Had the same problem with The Devil You Know in Destiny 1. Sad times if it's happening again.
-
I do believe bungie should be forthcoming in saying that y1 gear will or will not be moving forward in the new skills and progression system post fall update.
-
3 RepliesWhere did you hear this rumor?
-
2 RepliesBungie need to have the armour team answer this worry in the next TWAB.
-
What about exotic catalyst? Will we have to do them all over again? In d1 y2 we had to grind for our exotics all over again.
-
Im hoping we get great new gear. Lets go reset.
-
Where are you getting your information from?
-
It can still be infused to a higher light, but i don’t think they will have random rolls
-
I wouldn’t say that it’s going to be a reset like they did for Destiny 1 with the TAken King Expansion... that was a revamp of coding... this is added on with your weapons now vs the rewrite they did... wait until Bungie releases more info before speculating that just yet
-
Looking forward to chasing new stuff. The year 1 classics will return at a some point in year 2.
-
I loved the chase of rolled weapons in d1 it gave playability if nothing else. But I’m kinda against going back to that system now. I’m. It saying it’s unwelcome but I’ve grown content with what I have. Also the worst possible thing the can do for me is random roll weapons but reskin them I’m a tad bit tired of every weapon looking the same so I’d like to see more variety in looks and designs

7 RepliesDoubt it this time. I can't see them putting such a grind on Masterwork Sunshot,Graviton Lance, etc if they intended to make them obsolete in a mere three months. Sure, they did it in D1, but they have shown already that they can add things into existing items( like masterworks and raising light limits on gear). I suspect our current guns will be infusable, but if there truly are random rolls coming then we will likely find better ones as time goes on and vault the static ones. My philosophy? Wait and see. It's certainly too late at this point to change what they have in motion for September, and it's too early to sit and worry about what "might" happen. Besides, aside from Better Devils, Manannan, Pleiades, Uriels, Nameless, and a few others these year one guns are trash.
-
They said that they would clear things up as summer progressed, so I would think that it would come with us. This is just going off prior mistakes and community backlash.
-
They really need to clear this up imo...I figured that they only made gear obsolete back in D1 bc they screwed up and didn’t make it balanced. I’d really love to have everything from here on out be able to be carried through progression in the series
-
6 RepliesWhy would you want to re-role those? It makes no difference to PVE weapons.
-
6 RepliesAs someone who experienced old gear being made irrelevant plenty of times in Destiny 1 I'm gonna say you should prepare for it. It does kind of suck but in the long run it's better to make changes to the current system. Hopefully we get some sort of middle ground with D2 and we are allowed to bring our gear forward but at a cost.
-
I think it's very likely that most, if not all, Y1 gear won't be updated. Best case scenario I see happening is the most popular stuff getting brought forward in September. In any case, I think the best weapons in the game right now will still be good when Forsaken drops, whether they get updated or not.

12 RepliesYou heard wrong. Rumors are like cancer.

Edited by Enochua: 6/10/2018 8:37:38 AMCan we at least get a vote for which weapons and armor will be returning to the loot pool Like one from each archetype and then a quest to make them exotic? i know that wont happen just a thought though. and one armor set from each class Or get a set number of "motes of light/power" that we get right out the gate that we can bring our favorite weapons and armors with us? With random rolls those guns will be obsolete anyway. Sad but true, we lost everything in D1 in year 1 to year 2. Why is this a thing again?
-
9 RepliesWhy wouldn’t infusion be an option?
-
Not sure about armour perks, as I'm not sure if they are just randomly rolled. But I'd assume the weapon perks would become rando rolled.
-
11 RepliesIf you can't, you can thank all those screaming for random rolls and D1 type weapon slot changes.
-
3 RepliesLet me guess, you watch a video and a youtuber voiced their opinion and you took it too literally? That’s the only reason I can assume you have to make such a decision like this. We don’t know anything about what they’re doing, As they haven’t told us much.

15 RepliesNot to Jump on the Bungie defense wagon here but the key word in that whole paragraph is "RUMOR" you know nothing of the Expansion so don't speculate, and you are phrasing it as if this is a thing "so why is it that we cant update popular weapons from Year 1 to Year 2?"
