5 RepliesEdited by Ronin: 6/12/2018 10:44:25 PMThere’s no beating around the bush. Yes. Does that mean I hate and condemn them? No! It’s not my place. God tells us to love everyone, so that’s what I’ll do. Edit: Let me clarify a bit. Homosexuality, when acted upon, is a sin. You can not control every stray thought that pops into your head. However, it is acting on the negative thoughts that could be considered a sin. Acting on those homosexual thoughts is the sin, not the thoughts themselves.

2 RepliesSo the half life for Christian views of gay marriage is roughly 10-15 years then? Used to be that gay marriage was a sin and also something we should all desperately care about. A decade and some later, gay marriage is still a sin but haha it's all good my dude. I guess 2028 will be the year of it was never a sin to begin with.

6 RepliesDon’t know, and personally don’t care what people do with their lives. Has no effect on me. Why should I? Being a Christian myself, I don’t live by strict rules. I swear and all of that. Maybe I should live by them, others have twisted what the Bible says and I’m honestly not sure what to think anymore. The few “rules” I live by are as follows: Love God Ten Commandments and the sort Be a kind and selfless person Don’t cheat on your spouse or have sex before marriage, Live in peace with your fellow man And always forgive those who wrong you, no matter what they’ve done. This one is hard. I’m not the smartest person around, I don’t see myself as better than others because that doesn’t get anyone anywhere. If people want to argue that’s fine, I try my best to stay out of it. Why contribute to the anger and hatred in the world if it does nothing but hurt us?

Yes, but I don't shame someone for it, I have friends who are homosexuals, and I won't stop being friends with because of it. I just pray for them.

I know the Clergy don't.... Because of all the rapists they knowingly hide from justice.

Hello, Roman Catholic here! I sent you a PM. But here is the gist: Is having homosexual attractions sinful? No. Are homosexual acts sinful? Yes. All acts outside of marriage are considered adultery. I'd get into the theology of it as much as I could, but these forums aren't the greatest venue for that. Peace!

I mean the 10 commandments were written in the Old Testament. God wrote a new one. But who am I to decide if what others do is or is not a sin? I only know my sins.

“The gay is not ok” -Jesus Christ

i mean yeah but that doesn’t mean I don’t love them

1 ReplyWhat if homosexuality is part of God's plan? Homosexual couples can't reproduce so many of them adopt. This helps both alleviate the threat of overpopulation (by not producing additional children) and gives a home to children who've been put up for adoption.

14 RepliesEdited by Liam_the_Censor: 6/9/2018 11:08:44 PMI consider homosexual sex a sin. Same thing goes for homosexual marriage. That doesn’t mean I think I’m better than them or they are any less worthy of Christ’s love.

“If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.” Leviticus 20:13 NKJV http://bible.com/114/lev.20.13.nkjv So I’m pretty sure this is from Old Testament but yes it is a sin although we will still love them

6 RepliesSure, no bigger a sin than saying a swear word but a sin nonetheless

1 ReplyYes. But do I give a crap? No
-
No good Christian does. Now, any sexual act without the intent to bear children is considered sinful, but just loving another man is A-okay :)

21 RepliesAs a Muslim...Yes, it is a sin. But also as a Muslim its, not my place to stop them from doing what they want. There life their choice. Why should my beliefs impact what someone else does?

Yes the Christian god is a snowflake.

6 RepliesYes but I’m not going to go around spreading hate about it or telling people to change. They can do what they want as long as it’s not affecting someone else negatively.
-
4 RepliesYup. But I don’t hate ‘em.

1 ReplyEdited by Bulked, Apostle of Strengf: 6/10/2018 4:58:33 PMRegardless of people's personal opinions on it, the Bible in its entirety is clear that it is. BUT, how a lot of people who claim Christianity stigmatize homosexuals and treat them would also be considered sin too by the very texts they choose to demean others with. There is not necessarily a scale in the Bible that gives weight to each sin. The Bible merely mentions the natural and sometimes supernatural consequences for certain actions. That being said, there are many more instructions on personal conduct and loving others than there are regarding homosexuality. And, those people who claim to be of the faith, yet berate a group of people, ought to spend more time examining the "log in their own eye" before they worry about plucking "the splinter from someone else's". Sure, according to the Bible, homosexuality is a sin. But, there are a plethora of sins that every single person commits every single day that are all equally offensive. For instance, lusting. I hardly see these vocal and staunch "Christians" who are so quick to beat down a gay man with some biblical text being as vocal against every single dude in the world who checks out women on the daily. I'm sure that has nothing to do with the fact that they themselves do it too. Or that it is easier to berate someone for a struggle that is not commonplace. /s I think it would suit Christians well to remember that the greatest visible testament to our faith is loving other people in patience and humility. If your so called "Christian" life is devoid of that love and humility, the Bible that you love to use as a weapon is very clear that you are not a Christian, but an imposter.

4 RepliesThis post gives great insight into peoples psyches. Who's gullible, who's not, things like that. I just find it funny how christians will lay blame and make accusations all the while ignoring their own transgressions and more importantly ignore the transgressions of their own church throughout history. But not surprising.
