Listen up!..

Edit* WALL OF TEXT... but stick with me. Okay folks, I'm seeing a lot of people angry about the price of the new upcoming expansion and before we go in deeper, I want make clear that I sympathise with people that are angry or upset with bungie or the way this game has turned out, we are all defeated by it and thats a problem. Back to pricing, I want to make sure everyone understands facts and figures to help avoid anymore angry posts and clear up misinformation. Forsaken (Upcoming Expansion) is $40. The same price as The Taken King. To be expected for a fall/large update The Annual Pass is $30. This includes 3 future DLC releases throughout the year. When breaking down the price, it works out to $10 dollars per DLC (cheapest we have had yet) *BOTH CAN BE BOUGHT SEPARATELY* Now, lets discuss... does it suck that we are getting content that should have been there from day 1 of Destiny 2? Yes! It does. Has bungies communication and behaviour towards the community been consistent and acceptable, No! It hasn't. Have they listened and implemented the features we asked for this future release and showed signs of improvement, YES! they have. Time for my advice.. I understand that its too late for most people and that trust will never be restored but hear me out! Take a second to realise that if your still posting on the forums and keeping up to date with future content releases, that there is still a part of you that cares regardless of anger. Now, I dont expect you to go out and buy or pre order this release with the previous disappointments we ALL endured with the lack of information we have. But instead wait it out, see how its received by the public after release, watch reviews, your favourite YouTubers, talk to your friends and then make your decision, if you're still not convinced, so be it, nothing is forcing you to buy it. But if you do choose to buy it, thats great and I hope you have fun. Afterwards, IF! you have enough faith restored, you can then consider buying the annual pass at any time of your choosing. The pass exists to avoid any splitting of the community and means everyone who purchases knows they can play all the content with others who have done the same, but if you want Forsaken only! You can do that. In the end, if you dont want to buy, thats okay, we all understand, we know its not going to be enough for some of you and that's unfortunate but please remember that if you have something to post on the forums, try and keep it constructive..and if you do want to buy, great! Glad to see some people happy again. I understand this was a bit of a long read but I hope it clears up some confusion and misinformation, the moral of the message is free choice and free will, criticism always has its place but unreasonable arguments and aggression lead to no progress on a problem, thanks for reading, please feel free to comment your feedback and ask any questions. Thanks again guardians.

  • I have no interest in spending any money to purchase a current DLC that has been getting slammed by current gamers . Though, it seems I will have to spend the money to purchase something else they are offering . Why would anyone do that ? So $10 for future DLCs? So you want me to pay you in advance for a product that i have no idea what it is I’m getting . Maybe I should do it on faith based on Bungie’s current track record. Are you shitting me ? $10 isn’t a lot but why would I pay them any money in advance . “Thanks for your money , here is a 30 minute DLC and a reskinned weapon. The other question is why would anyone spend more money for a game that is attempting to revert back to its previous version. That would be like Apple telling you to spend a bunch of money on their New I-phone 10 after telling you they are reverting it back to be similar to the I-phone 4. They would get laughed out of the market. Spend your money however you want . The tag line “A sucker is born everyday” has been around forever . My refusal to pay isn’t just for me . It’s me telling others that if they decide not to in an effort to prove a point about consumerism, you are not alone .

      • Let's go back to the Taken King, since that what you want to do: TTK = $40.00 Yes, that is correct. April 2016 Update = Paid for buy EVERVERSE as Bungie claimed back then that was the designated purpose of the EVERVERSE. Now we have both the EVERVERSE and an expectation to buy future updates and additions to the game between Forsaken and a Year 3 expansion. You can justify this all you want, but the fact remains: EVERVERSE was intended to pay for this stuff already. If it is no longer doing that, then why have it in the game?
I know the answer to that already, so no need to comment on why it has not been removed or whatnot.
What about the 100 bucks that we paid for a poorly developed shitbag called D2 and its mediocre DLCs. Yet now we get the privilege of giving those asshats at Bungie HQ more money for the game we should have gotten in the first place. Bungie should have given it away as a free update to try and earn back some good will. Instead they are charging you to buy back D1 with some reskin bullshit.

IMO it's never really been about the money. If a company offers the content that is worth that amount of money and I mean content, not time spent in a game. Then I'll spend a $100 or more to buy the game. For me, quality but not so much quantity makes a huge difference when buying a game. D1 is a prime example that didn't have much content as some would have liked, but it had the incentive that 3+ million gamers liked. For others it's different and there is nothing wrong in that. My issue with this game is not the devs that put all that hard work into creating what they have. It's the higher-ups that are taking advantage of kids and teens. Hype seems to play a huge role in selling a game today. If it "looks good" it must be good right? Wrong... Bungie has proven without a doubt that looks can be deceiving this entire D2 and that is a fact. Saying one thing and actually taking that action to do it is another. I mean, what happened to all these "updates" they said they would do to improve this game that they said they made it easier for them to put out on a regular base? From where I stand in the 11 years they have been working on this game there has been less effort into improving this game then there was the entire D1. I understood why D1 Y1 took place, but to repeat the exact same thing 3 years later but with a lot less of what D1 had is not understandable knowing Destiny is not new to them. Wasting time and resources giving D1 back to the player base to me is a pure waste of time knowing this is supposed to be a "new game" with new content and moving forward creating (new content adding to the game.) Not giving everything we paid for already a couple time and call it "new" Yes, there be a couple new things but the overall this game has literally been one big reskinned game and anyone to say otherwise would be lying. IMO this is the problem gamers have with this game. What Bungie is offering you had already so why should gamers be paying for the same reskinned content that Bungie deliberately Removed and not paying for new content to play? It's fine that some of you don't mind buying whatever Bungie is offering, but some of us are tired of the rinse and repeat and want to see actual new content, a new game like Bungie over exaggerated about what D2 was going to be like. How many...
P.O.E does this game need Court of Oryx does this game need How many times does the progression system need to be changed How many times does this company keep "needing" to reuse content fro Y1 over and over and over again? What happened to using one's imagination and exploring the potential the game has? Creating new things without limiting gamers from completing a task like limiting options for matchmaking with certain events? What happened to " you will become more powerful" What happened to... Bungie Weekly Update 12/04/2014: "In the months to come, your quest to become more powerful will have more avenues that lead to satisfaction. The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. Since the reveal, we’ve read a lot of ideas for how this could have been done better. Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected." Yet they keep removing things and selling it back to us. How does that work when it comes to respecting a gamers time spent in this game??? What happened to Everevers being "used as it's intended purpose"? I mean, Bungie said they created a system that will allow them to create content "much easier" yet they're now saying creating content is too hard for them. Gee, thanks for letting everyone know after the fact...
I could go on, but IMO this company didn't offer what they said they would and have shown by this latest DLC that they clearly have no respect for the player base after all the cheap tactics, lies, and lack of effort they put into this game this last 8 months Only offering small petty things to get them by. If anyone wants to complain about what I said, go ahead, at least I'm honest with myself and not afraid to look at reality. Or speak up, to tell the truth about how this is actually wrong in so many ways. If Anyone wants to see this game to actually improve? Then stop asking for the small petty things from this company, because as long as you keep doing that, you will Only get the small petty things that you think actually "improves this game".

              • 'This includes 3 future DLC releases throughout the year. When breaking down the price, it works out to $10 dollars per DLC (cheapest we have had yet)' You make it sound like its a bargain. I would agree if we got the content like warmind has for instance but its not as they said this much. What you will probably be getting is a new armour set, new and old weapons (so yeah pay for them again) and something new to do in the already playable space we have now (knowing bungie playing a mission backwards like in house of wolves). You wont be getting new planets or stories so dont be fooled into thinking its like the dlc's previously.

                  • My issue with the season pass is that it’s just another blind pre- order that allows Bungie to down tools just as soon as they hit the magic number of sales.

                  • You are assuming the seasonal events are DLCs when they could simply (likely) be live events like dawning, sparrow racing, etc. Those types of events were “free” (funded by Eververse). If that’s the case, then I have a problem with it on principle, not price.

After all the complaints all they did is continue pushing towards their "new vision" for the game while bringing few token features back to appease the community. Hidden Juggler is still on. As is hidden Trickle debuff. Sprint speed is still the same and mobility is useless, as is all non-exotic armour. Shaders are still consumable and will remain such. You get the point. They did hear us, but they didn't listen.

It looks like fun but I will wait for reviews to spend anymore money. At the very least we should get a more detailed list of exactly how much content we are receiving. D1 vanilla had 27 story missions which took me almost a month to get thru. D2 had like 8 missions which I leveled thru in about 8 hours. Not much value for $60, dlc's were garbage. D1 I played 1000 hours in year 1 alone where D2 I played 1 week for each release since there was so little content or any replay value. Sorry but at this point I am going to need more than just a little glitter to get me to spend money on this franchise.

                        • I am seeing mixed claims from people that the 3 "DLC" as you put it are the actual non-cinematic seasonal events (The Dawning, Festival of the Lost, etc) and not really full-fledged DLC. Bungie needs to clarify this, and quickly. If people are buying access to stuff that the Eververse was specifically created to fund, then the fallout from that will not be pleasant for Bungie.

                        • The only thing is strongly disagree is having to buy CoO and Warmind in order to play forsaken. Its absurd to force players that BUNGIE SHOULD WANT TO RETURN to pay 20 dolalrs for CoO? CoO is an insult and a theft. Is it a technical reason? Like ther is stuff in Forsaken that actually requires you to go to mars or mercury? If so its a fishy move. Like stop recicling OLD areas in NEW content. Stop making you go to earth as a story mission on Warmind. I dont want to go to earth. I want to play NEW stuff. But if bungie intentionally makes you revisit old areas just to force people to spent money on 2 meh expansions its wrong.
