In spite of all the negativity, let’s discuss something we can all get behind: bad teammates.
Last night on Gauntlet, I and some guy that just joined were running. I did my call, as usual, but never heard anything from the other guy.
Turns out he actually TURNED AROUND and started running BACKWARDS towards me.
I wish I could make this up.
So, what’s your absolute worst raiding experience you’ve ever had in Destiny?
Edit 1: Some of these stories are appalling. Keep them coming.
Edit 2: Over 100 replies, nice.
Edit 3: 200 Replies! A lot of these stories are pretty funny actually.
Edit 4: Dang, already closing in on 350. If only my Titan was that high a number...
Edit 5: Wow, this post really blew up. 500 replies!

I hate running with people that be like "that's not how I did it before" and give 50 million reasons on why. 🤦 Dumbasses.

1 ReplyI have not done a raid since d1 when i tried to do oryx on 3 separate occasions. First trip we got all the way to oryx failed once 2 guys left and got professionals to get them through it. Second time guy apparently thought he could do it in 30 mins didn't happen he left couldn't get anyone else. 3rd time same thing basically. D2 raids are a joke there is absolutely no reason to do them the armors are useless the weapons suck why bother. What to level up faster who cares game is cancer.

Edited by TotalDramaGamer: 5/29/2018 4:49:56 AM
Fun fact, did you know that you can shoot the psions in their bubbles in the Leviathan Raid. You know, the ones in throne room and the ones you melee in gauntlet. Yeah, you don't have to melee them apparently. You just need to be in their see through dome thing.
I have a funny story about VoG. Keep in mind, this happens after a couple of normal strat failed attempts We decided we would try to do the '5 man snipers strat' for the Oracles because we couldnt' defeat them otherwise. I would jump down and start the event (also take out that r3 oracle from the one hidey hole), whilst the others used Ice Breaker to gun down the rest. So, one of our randoms…, one of the ones that was struggling beforehand, he says "Oh, I don't have icebreaker with me, it's in the vault." So he leaves to go get it. Remember, this is before the vault app and all that. We wait around and eventually he comes back. But... the ice breaker wasn't even leveled. This man literally went to Xur, bought the ice breaker, then brought it back. It's one of the moments I always laught at with my friend. -- Worst raid moment? People who can't kill Oracles during the Atheon fight. Absolute cancer. Not like... they don't have the firepower. No... they always rush ahead through the gate and purposefully miss the last two oracles OR they sprint off ahead and get killed by the three adds in the past/future realms. I also love taking 25 F*CKING MINUTES on the Gorgons because people refuse to just be quiet for all of one minute. It got the point that I would leave the group if we took longer than 5 minutes (if due to obvious f*ck ups with no slowing down). I just hated how long that always took. An equally frustrating moment is when people, in King's Fall, constantly die to the singular knight that shoots at you up from the ramparts during the Totems fight (before Warpriest). I've never understood how people could constantly die to them. -- Lol, on a high note, I remember raiding with groups that pulled the ether cord on Crota. Fun times. It was even more fun with the guy who left didn't come back fast enough and Crota became enraged... thus... we still somehow failed...

1 ReplySomeone said to use swords against Templar over gjallahorn. Gjallahorn does the most dps as it doesn’t rely on critical damage like sleeper, and it gets that anyway if you have melting point, tether, weapons of light and Viking funeral/touch of flame up...so this clearly mentally impaired person tried telling me a sword does more damage. A -blam!-ing sword.

4 RepliesBeing called the n work by a clearly racist guy and having his friends laugh at it. I stopped raiding all together that day. Haven't raided since. I used to lfg before that because my friend quit before roi, now I don't.

First time doing raid, Doing vog on normal, Finally found a team that would accept me, Got no loot, Day before reset, Party keeps disconnecting, Get to to Atheon, Get stuck at Atheon, Get blammed for failed attempts at Atheon, Get kicked at Atheon, Get invited back to Atheon cp because my team realized it wasn’t my fault, Deny invite to Atheon and let the team fail before reset, I still hope to this day that they never completed the raid that day and never got vex mythoclast.

Was doing King’s Fall with randoms At Oryx (For my second time ever) and my puppy Great Dane comes charging through my room and disconnects my Xbox. When I get back online, I find out I’m replaced. They end up beating it. Don’t find another team. Feelsbadman

One guy was playing pornography into his mic. When asked to stop he kept complaining. I'd say for sure that some people have freedom to express themselves but others just need to be thrown at a wall.

3 Repliesone time I joined a team of randoms to help a friend out getting through kings fall. the party leader said for everybody to put on an emblem that you get from clearing it. I put on the hardmode emblem, and the guy started saying if I didn't put on the right emblem then he would kick me. Then one of the randoms said "If you kick this guy you are throwing the raid" and explained that I had done hardmode. Later on, after about 2 hours of slowly progressing through the raid (yeah these guys weren't the best lol) we were on sisters and I was skating up and down the path in the middle of the arena while they were messing with their loadouts. I then proceeded to skate into the wall so hard that I killed myself (entirely on purpose, because I was bored) Then the party leader said "wow, you are really bad." and then kicked me. I can't remember if I was more amused at how unaware he was or more angry at the fact that he just threw the run and I was just giving my buddy a hand. later on I sent him a picture of my raid completions, and told him that he booted me from the raid (that they never finished lol) for anybody curious: https://d1.raid.report/ps/jared400

I was invited into a raid by a mate. When i joined I couldn't hear anyone except for the team leader. Because I couldn't follow what the others were saying I was mucking up... all the time this guy was giving me absolute hell even though I told him what was happening... so I left. The next day this same guy comments on this forum that I (yes he mentioned my tag) joined just to get a checkpoint........Rahoul you're an idiot!

Edited by CDT DYLAN M: 5/29/2018 2:48:35 AMOh the stories I could tell. One time I was sherpa for 4 new players for VOG. Spent the entire time having the 5th person tell everyone else the wrong thing (he was also a new player, but claimed he watched how to do it). We only made it to Atheon because it took to long because the other guy was making it way to complicated by undermining me and trying to turn the group against me, even though I was their guide thru the raid. Another time I was helping a clanmate thru Crota. We had to wait 30 minutes before fighting Crota because their friends were just screwing around trying to see how far they could throw their grenades. This was after a couple of hours because his friends would keep dying and causing us to wipe. Then they started getting mad because they kept dying during the fight. (part of the reason I don't offer to Sherpa anymore) The other day I was doing a leviathan run, which ended at gauntlet because one of the guys was causing the game to lag. But he would get mad at me because I wasn't shooting at the button when he called it. However, his mic kept cutting out every few minutes, so everytime he would get mad, it was because of his connection and mic. Eventually, he left becuase everyone else said he wasn't saying anything.

I would rather fail for 5 hours with friendly, fun people and not complete the raid than play with people who get pissed and make things miserable for everyone. Every bad memory I have includes a miserable asshole yelling at people and being shitty. I had an idiot jump off the ledge with the relic during final damage phase of Atheon yelling “Lerooooooy Jenkiiiiiiiiinnnnnnsssss” and then quit. My friends and I laughed for 5 minutes before we just 5-manned it. This is one of my favorite memories.

15 minutes ago I did Dark Below and we spent about 2 hours on deathsinger challenge a rando 385 kept dying and he left also the guy who invited me from the tower to start the raid also quit so spent another hour with randos until I got one of my friends and some lfg squeakers, they would not stop talking and we failed multiple attempts then we beat it and got to crota also wanting to do challenge nobody besides me knew how to run sword and the one titan we had kept putting the ward under the bridge I ended up quitting because I was too -blam!-ing salty to continue

D1, with a friend and I. Kings Fall, 5 hours, 17 different players came and went, only to get to Oryx first phase and have everyone quit. Thought I'd never raid again after that one.
