Hey, everyone. At the end of last year, I made a promise that I would update you on our plans for Destiny 2. The team has been hard at work and we’re ready to share where we are headed. We used to wait to talk about game updates until we were certain we could meet our deadlines to avoid letting players down if we changed our plans. No longer. We’re not just listening, we are doing. Please keep in mind that the further out we make promises, the more they are subject to change. With that caveat, here are our plans.
Let me see if I can understand this, a more graceful/friendly way to utilize multiple emotes has been a player request going back as far as I can remember in D1. If we take the reports that Destiny 2 development was "rebooted" around April 2016 as at least marginally true, and in this update you're telling us we'll get "Multi-Emote" sometime in Spring 2018, you're telling us that 700+ developers can't figure out how to code that into the game in TWO YEARS??? REALLY? And wait, I can mass delete a stack of Radiolarian Cultures with the press of a button, but you can't figure out how to let me mass delete a stack of useless shaders that I'll just get 20 more of the next time I run pub events on some planet??? REALLY? Nobody, I mean NOBODY, could ever have any use for 500 Avalon Teal's, or 900 Atlantis Wash's, seriously HOW could you overlook such a SIMPLE mechanic? Did you guys honestly think even the hoarders amongst us would have some desire to hold on to THAT MANY shaders???

Bungie had to put these changes into D2 in order to justify a sequel. If they gave us D1 year 3 we would all be complaining that the game was an overpriced DLC. Which it still is. It might have story but in workings ...idk the word...not mechanics ...the game is just hollow, empty , bare bones ex. - gear, guns, perks, stats, mods. Skill tree., leveling weapons etc etc. Another thing... where's all this content Bungie and Activision talked about bringing us? They needed to drop the 360 & PS 3 , we needed a new engine in a new game so they could deliver more content more often....?...?.. Does Bungie consider seasons ....content? I'm confused. We have the almost exact amount of content coming out at exactly the same time. Where's the beef? May the Destiny community continue to tell Bungie what we want. Keep it coming! Don't stop now! Don't give up! Shot I'll take D1 strikes and raids placed into D2 right now. Not to mention everything else

I think the damage has already been done here.

3 Replies140000 people played trials on the weekend just gone. Thats so good even on destiny 1's worst weekend it never hit that and your saying months. You might fix it by then but the hunderds of thousands of people who have left wont be coming back. Clans everywhere are dying all over. Half my family and 20 mates who are only my friend because of your game who havent even bothered playing. You take your months time, game will be dead except for your hardcore players. 4 to 9 hrs a day everyday i will get back. TO LITTLE TO LATE BUNGIE!

1 ReplyThis is exactly why I've gone from playing daily to once a week approximately. And the latest news update is everything they could put into the game next week. If they wanted to. But they'll sell most of it to us via DLC over the next year. I don't believe them any longer, pulling this crap in the first game was tolerable. No longer. For most people like me that expected a game that constantly changed, got updated, etc, this is a joke of a sequel. Worse than D1 5 months in. As a game developer you have to be doing this on purpose, nobody is this inept. Through your own fault Bungie, or pressure from Activision/ Blizzard, you have a steaming pile of crap for a sequel and your player base hates you for it. If it's the latter, they're gonna bankrupt your company while they run to the bank with all the profits. Empty promises, half assed attempts at placating us, future updates with no guarantee on any of it, disappointment after disappointment? Do you even care? If so, prove it. Bring these updates to fruition by the end of next month. By the way, if this were a true sequel that expanded upon its original rather than dumping the last 3 year's work, this would be a hell of a game. People like me wouldn't mind tossing some cash into Eververse. As it stands, why should we?

1 ReplyEdited by THUNDERCHILD: 1/15/2018 4:26:19 AMDestiny 2 needed to launch with everything listed in there and more. Let me know when Destiny 2 finishes development and is ready to ship. Sounds like its going to be another year or two before that happens. Your main development team is lead by dunces. Its as though none of them even cared enough to play Destiny after it was turned it into a decent game. Its the only excuse for this trainwreck that i can think of, your devs didnt even know what Destiny was.

Bungie Update equals laugh historically.

Just one person's perspective on the update. I never played D1, started playing D2 in earnest about a month or so ago and am having a fantastic time — but I can still see quite a bit of room for improvement. I think this update, while far from perfect, is a big step in the right direction. That being said, plenty of this stuff SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE GAME FROM DAY 1. I agree with what Skill Up said: There shouldn't be a "Live team," there should just be one team, Bungie, working to make this game, not even half a year old, everything it can and should be. While I'm satisfied with the game as is, that doesn't mean I will continue to be if these changes, and more, aren't implemented in a timely fashion. Bungie, please continue talking, openly and honestly, with your players. No amount of talent, creativity or skill — or profit — will garner for you the good will that solid communication does. Just look at Overwatch, a game that, in my view, has made many boneheaded mistakes, the effects of which have been drastically lessened simply because they are so good about consistently and openly communicating with their players. Need I remind you, Destiny is your flagship franchise — please treat it as such!
