18 RepliesPersonally I like this new system better now. At first I hated it because I was thinking of all of my old weapons and their positions in the class line-up, but now that I have seen the big picture of it all with all these new weapons, I love it. In crucible it allows you to change up fighting styles on really good people so you are not left looking like a total newbie if you decided to go with a fight style you are so-so with for that match, or someone has you pinned down with long range fire while you are bouncing around with a hand cannon... In Strikes and on Raids, it allows for solo tactical play that is MUCH needed in these difficult raids, not to mention, Primary/Primary/Heavy offers WAAAAY more in the way of ammo and fight life than Primary/Heavy/Heavy format of D1. It feels more custom to me. Like my weapons can reflect my style choice rather than having to rely on one super good primary and then looking to customize with rarely shot secondary and even more so heavy.

7 Replieseverbody who played d1 prefers the old system
-
I've been saying this since day 1, they should've stuck with the old system
-
I actually do miss the D1 weapon system. It felt like everything had a place compared to D2 where it feels like you have two primaries that are kinda weak.
-
There was a post on here that had 500+ up votes about how destiny 2 was no more than a copy of destiny one and people hated it and blah blah.. make up your minds
-
D1 system far superior not used a sniper rifle in ages. Current system far too restrictive in the combinations you can have
-
D1 weapon system way better, D1 weapons make you grind for the God roll D1 let use more variety of weapons for different situations D2 all players use same weapons You don’t feel want to play because you have all weapons and same perks Which makes the game less grinding If they want to keep the fixed perks at least with some NPC like Zavala and Ikora And let the factions have randoms perks Or return to old systems
-
PvP aside, my shotguns and snipers are absolutely unused right now. Getting a sniper is like getting a joke weapon on this stage. In D1 I could combine a sniper with a heavy for max boss damage, right now there is no way I will sacrifice a heavy slot for a sniper. In Prestige Nightfalls you cannot change the loadout , so snipers are used even less. PvE got f-ed because of PvP in D1. If they remove snipers completely from D2 right now I suspect it won't be missed at all.

No question, I loved the Destiny 1 system better. The game was faster, more fun, and made you feel more powerful. It was different enough from the Halo and CoD systems to have a unique, fun feel. Oh my gosh, I wish Destiny 2 Crucible was just an improvement on the old Destiny 1 format.

3 RepliesI'd merge the two. I'd have four weapon slots, each asigned to a direction on the d-pad. The current weapon select button would become the emote wheel.
-
D1 for sure

1 ReplyIf prefer the old system, but they would have to reduce TTK on primaries substantially. And make hand cannons usable on consoles. Nothing worse than being staggered by a whole team with special and heavy. Especially on smaller maps. Also fusions are a bit strong for special slot imo. Tiny bit of reduced range or make it 8 bullets dealing 25dmg, instead of 4 dealing like 50. Or some shit idk. Also, should sidearms and smg’s be primaries or special then?
-
Tricky one. But I think the current system gives you more options
-
I prefer d2. It gives you more options as far as loadouts for different ranges, while giving you more options for heavy weapons. I would just remove grenade launchers completely and bring back HMGs. (Let us keep the colony though lol) Weapons are quite bland and repetitive feeling sometimes and 90% of the exotics do not feel exotic, much less viable options, same with exotic armor.

2 RepliesEdited by Legion: 1/7/2018 6:21:11 AMAbsolutely prefer D2 over D1. Why would shotguns, snipers and fusions (OHK weapons) be in the same category as sidearms? ALL OHK weapons should be in the same category. That being said, ammo reserves for shotty, sniper, and fusions should be drastically increased.

Edited by Durn Kurn: 1/7/2018 3:27:07 AMI prefer the current system Because I like the idea of all players starting with standard weapons and having to beat the other team in earning the power weapons. D2 hardly does this because it just gives each team a heavy ammo spawn, but it's better than giving both a heavy spawn and special ammo (also heavy tier) spawn
-
1 ReplyMuch prefer D1 over D2 when it comes to this. It feels odd to have two Scout or auto rifles at the same time.

ok here's an idea... get rid of those -blam!- emotes from the d pad and use that to switch between all primaries secondaries and third tier weapons.... hold up for 1st slot hold left for second slot, hold right for third... u cld switch to any weapon ur holding in any situation without having to bring up the main character menu... I feel this would best suit the old d1 weapon class system... I can't believe this wasn't done from the start or destiny 1... this seems like a no brainer to me anyways

15 RepliesEveryone... except for the thumbless kids that just like the fact that rocket launchers take the same ammo as a sniper rifle. That was a great idea 🙃
-
D1 system, im having a really sad moment right now. =(
https://image.ibb.co/e00Wgb/Image2.jpg
Everyone who’s not a boring idiot

Literally haven’t used a sniper rifle in d2 cause it’s a damn waste to have it equipped when there’s other power weapons that are better. The weapon system in this game sucks!!
-
4 RepliesDon't really care... I miss using snipers and im extremely disappointed in grenade launchers. The available weapons are so bland. Even exotics feel mediocre....
