I'm still gettin duplicate exotics back to back. Edit: how will this effect ToC?

Out of 4 exotics so far.
The 4th was a dupe of the exotic gauntlets everyone gets at the end of the story.
Edit: I see that I'm not the I my one with this issue. Let's keep trending up
Edit 2: Technically the dupe protection is supposed to come next year. Maybe in January maybe later. Still frustrating.
Edit 3: how do you think this will go over when Xur sells the three of coins?
Edit 4: Well. it looks like three of coins isn't really wothwhile at all.

I just got my 9th Khepri's Horn IN A ROW. This isn't RNG, something is definitely broken.

Speaking as someone who keeps 4-5 weapons and armor in every category on each character, and carries most of my exotic items with my characters, duplicates have been a blessing. Example: Hmm, i got a shinobus vow at 323 and already had vows at 316, but im a big orpheus rig whore with my hunter so guess ill upgrade my exodus down gauntlets cause theyre still at 310. Thoughts?

If you don't have every exotic crafted and either on you or in your vault the game won't know you have it already... Must have each of your exotics crafted! On you or in vault.

They promised this ages ago, didn't happen then either Funny how they can adjust broken weapons, raid levels, dlc access etc overnight, but months and months later this is still an issue??

18 RepliesI need to ask you if you are exaggerating or not. I am not a supporter of Bungie or Destiny, but I see these posts and wonder.... I have never gotten more than 2 of the same exotics in a row and 2 popping up is rare. Are YOU sure you’re not exaggerating these results? Neither me nor my friends have ever had these duplicate problems, so I am inclined to believe it is just bad RNG. Unless I see an excess of video evidence then I don’t believe any of this.

I find it hilarious that people are posting: “Durrr read the patch notes its next year.” Everyone expects to get repeats and the “Fix” is next year. However there seems to be an increase in the frequency of repeats and a decrease in the time between the repeats. I’ve gotten three streaks of 4 sun spots and 3 of the hunter jester boots out of 9 total exotics. There seems to be a worsening of the issue and people who think they are smart asses are actually dumb asses for their comments.

2 RepliesIt’s so bad right now with the duplicates I kinda feel It’s broken down by time . Every time I -blam!-ing Decrypt a -blam!-ing engram I always get the skyburners and now today 2 sweet business . They nerfed the drop rate on exotics so which has made it so much worse .

2 RepliesBorderlands 2 had exotic drop rates of around 2%, yet people loved farming and the game always felt rewarding. Why? Because even if you didn't get that super rate weapon, something of value dropped 99% of the time. Destiny 2 and destiny 1,are the exact opposite. Unless the thing you want drops, then you basically get nothing

Heck with regular rewards I see repetition. 75% of my legendary weapon rewards have been a fusion rifle of some sort.

2 Repliesatleast your getting exotics since 12/5 i have gottin literally 3 exotic engrams you know what i got out of them? the bow helm the new exotic arm piece 2 times .. you know how many exotics i have yet to get..? about half of them still.. yet i cant get 3oC's till tomorrow after work 5pm est.. u may be getting duplicate exotics but atleast your getting them.. i have completed every milestone for the last 2 weeks and i only got to 333 and i see 40% of players already at 335 .. but they get tons of exotics i get 0.. u have no reason to be complaining bout duplicates

Three of coins will just give you more opportunities for duplicates :) However, with 3oC, Xur is also supposed to start bringing a new weekly engram (not sure if that's once per character, or once per account), that's supposed to be a guaranteed exotic you don't already have.
