I can no longer play the prestige nightfall or raid unless I buy the DLC, good job black mailing people into buying the DLC. I was considering buying the DLC but as you have removed content that I have paid for from the standard game I won't be buying it neither will my friends who play with me. The DLC should not change the base game I paid for. The only thing that kept me playing was the prestige nightfall and raid now that has been removed I’m going to quit playing Destiny 2 some of my friends I play with are going to quit also.
Edit: Thanks for the support this has been getting it’s nice to see there is still a good community here

Most people got the 2 DLCs with the base game, so it's not hit home to them yet. I'm pretty sure this game will die as soon as peoples seasons passes worn off and they have to choose to buy another Season Pass/DLC or buy something else to play. I just started playing this 2 months ago on PC and they already want more cash from me, atleast wait til the start of 2018 it's just too fast. I did get around 30 hours out of it so it was worth it. To put it in perspective I paid $50 AU for the base game and the DLC is $30. The price to the value of roughly 3-4 hours of new content doesn't justify the purchase in my eyes, would have bought it for $5 - $10 just to keep playing at my own pace. This will be the same for many people also with the base game and result in the player count slowly withering away.

The fact that players get scaled down makes increasing the power level requirements useless. The only reason they increased the requirements for the raid is to incentivize people to buy the DLC. Nothing would've changed keeping the power level requirements as they were. A 330 player would not be any more powerful than a 305 in a 270 activity.

1 Replythis has been in the works since 2013 and we get one hour of gameplay. Unaccceptable

6 RepliesIf I was Bungie I'd post statistics on how many people actually do Prestige mode and shut everyone up that never did it but want to voice anger anyway

I know there are a lot of new players for D2 - but this is nothing new. Bungie did the same thing in D1. If you don't keep up to date on the updates, then content becomes power level gated as they increase it for people who do have the updates. You are not locked out of the game and can still do most of it - but the higher level difficulty things that require updated power levels become unattainable. It is incentive for folks to keep consuming DLC. You haven't seen anything yet - just wait until the Nightfall strike is one of the new ones from the DLC. You won't be able to do that either. In past D1 drops, the week 1 Nightfall was one from the new DLC and anyone who didn't have it was S.O.L. At least they went with Inverted Spire this week so folks who didn't get the DLC can still Nightfall. Not much consolation I agree, but it is something. So in conclusion - yes it sucks, but it is the nature of the beast. I look at Destiny as my hobby and the DLC as the cost of continuing that hobby. Be well Guardians - hopefully you will get what you want eventually - be that a refund or significant game changes.

Removing content? The normal difficulties have Been boosted thank you very much

You aren't going to be a high enough power level to do prestige raids anyways since bungie is raising the level for the Leviathan raid in order to keep it current. It's an unfortunate problem for players not interested in the DLC. It's like you're the kid that brought $10 to give as the birthday gift while everybody else gave $20. Everybody goes to play lazer tag but there's not enough space for everyone so you have to sit out. Everybody else gets to play 2 rounds but you only get to play 1.

6 RepliesWas this not the same system in Destiny 1? I honestly can't remember but speaking to my 11-year-old, he told me its the same system? Can anyone confirm one way or the other? Thanks
-
64 RepliesLook, its all very very simple. The base game is what you are sold, the base game is what you have. The normal raid, story, base strikes etc etc all that business, its what is advertised and no company is stupid enough to advertise you anything you then don't legally get. That would just be stupid and they have lots of fancy lawyers etc who work all this big stuff out. Anything that is an event or harder version is extra, the light goes up every DLC and if you don't want to or cant continue then you only keep the base stuff. Its always been that way and quite frankly if it gets rid of the casuals who cant or wont pay $20.00 every now and then then that's fine by me. F**k em

From the looks of your profile in raid.report and your past game history you won’t be locked out of anything. You have ZERO raid clears, have only spent 1 hour and 11 minutes in the leviathan raid, and spend most of your play time in pvp. Since there is no level advantage in pvp you shouldn’t be locked out of any activities you play in. If you wanted to just come in the forum and be mr. cool by complaining, be constructive about your issues and make sure your complaint is valid. You’ve had 3 months to complete a raid and haven’t. Why complain about being locked out? If you have a different profile then I can’t imagine having multiple profiles and not knowing bungie did this in destiny 1. There is quite a bit wrong with the current state of destiny 2, but you not being able to participate in the prestige activities isn’t it.

1 ReplyThis happened in d1 nothing new

4 RepliesIf you had $60-$100 (depending on which version you got) to spend on the game 2 or 3 months ago, I don’t get why you aren’t willing to spend $20 in order to keep playing end game content. Kinda confusing that you want to keep playing the old end game content for whatever gear you’re trying to get from it, but you’re so against the content that just came out that you made this post to protest. So you wanted to keep playing the game, you just SPECIFICALLY wanted to play the old stuff. Yeah, I don’t get what you’re upset about.

I was completely expecting this, having played the first iteration of destiny. It’s shady as fcuk, but that’s the Bungie way. At least I have even less of a reason to play this game.
-
4 RepliesI do agree with you. Likewise, I’m a little annoyed trials of Osiris is not active in D1 anymore. I mean I bought all dlc for that game at full price on release day, yet I can’t play all of it now? Seems a little silly.

4 RepliesThis has been a thing since Destiny 1... Does this community have short term memory loss?
-
Blackmailing....Are you serious?
-
6 RepliesStop being poor & this has been done for 4yrs now.

4 RepliesYou should know by now, once dlc’s have been released players that don’t buy are restricted from some content. It’s always been like that, the prestige modes are now 330. How you going to play? You can’t even get your light high enough for starters. It’s £20, it’s not much money, either buy the dlc or quit moaning.
-
4 RepliesSo you don't want pay for the expansion and want everything to remain the same as it was? That's never how this has ever worked

6 RepliesEdited by Ravontulet: 12/6/2017 9:00:02 PMbooo hoooo hooooo - get mommy to buy you a happy meal - but the $1 ice cream cone is EXTRA ?! oh no WAH !! that is what you sound like. You've eaten your happy meal so STFU. you want the cone after you gotta pay son. its life - get used to it and get real.

10 RepliesBlackmail? Yeah that's a stretch. D1 with every DLC did the same thing. 20$ is blackmail? Things I can buy for 20$ Lunch for a week Smokes 2 packs Beer Gas for the car Bridge tolls Drinks Tips for that lunch Household items Pet food Yeah.. 20$ is really breaking the old back.
-
The excuse of course is that these events require power levels that you can't obtain without the dlc. Still disgraceful, but not uncommon for Bungie.
-
3 RepliesWell, Destiny 2 just got promoted to the top of my trade in pile on my next trip to EB Games. Ain’t got time for this crap.

That's not what blackmail means...
