Upvote if Destiny 2 should have been DLC
Honestly I think Destiny 2 would have made a pretty good dlc instead of a whole game. This unpolished game could have been more fun if it was a add on as the final raid of destiny 1 so that all the enemies had their own raid. Anyone feel the same?

The players could have carried over their characters and saves to progress and evolve. However. How would they price it ? The cost of Destiny 1 in the U.K was pushed up to £140 (over $200) for day one players buying TTK. It's one of the reasons I stopped playing. I don't mind spending money, but I expect value for it. New players were able to buy the full Destiny 1 game and all DLC up to and including TTK for roughly what day one players had to pay for TTK alone. The rot set it in at that point imo. I still say Destiny 2 would be a great DLC, but at what price ?

On the other hand, could you imagine permanent changes like to the sub classes? I wouldn't play either if d1 subclass were changed to that like D2

1 ReplyI agree but you have to know that there are limitations with how much they can put into one game. Eventually the game will run out of memory space, or it will become too difficult to optimize the game to fit in new content that is good. (No one said you had to stop playing D1 either)

If they had added this "sequel" as a dlc and not tinkered with what was working, then reworked the older planets to tie in...it would have been legendary.

I was thinking along the same line! It would have been great if they kept the old locations in addition with the new ones. They ARE in the same star system. Of course, the old Tower will remain destroyed and the Traveler in its present condition. I'm a little bored with D2, but I remain hopeful about future content.
