What do now?
The Week at Bungie 19th October 2017
Trials of the Nine
As a follow-up to reported incidents of emote glitching in the Crucible, we are investigating a fix that we plan to deploy during the first week of November. In the meantime, the next two instances of Trials of the Nine will be postponed. Please stay tuned for updates. We will provide more information as it becomes available. At this time the next instance of Trials of the Nine is forecasted to resume on November 3, 2017.
6 RepliesEdited by Endless: 10/20/2017 1:03:54 PMWell, I'm about done defending bungie at this point. I give up. Trials is all we had left. TWO WEEKS because ONLY BAD PLAYERS would use an exploit MAYBE? ANYONE HALF DECENT doesn't use this glitch. We rush the enemy team, or we set up if we're on defence. This is a joke. Explain to me bungie, how you would even win a game of trials against anyone half-decent by glitching out of the map. Trials is countdown and survival. Seriously, I've been running through it in my head. The odds of a team using this and actually benefitting from it are next to none. This really, really sucks. This mistake on your end will cost you more than any other thing that players are complaining about, I promise you. Population will drop, FOR SURE. That's no twitch exposure for 2 weeks. That's a lot of angry pvp players for 2 weeks. Thats a lot of normal crucible and pve for 2 weeks. Or, not playing this game for 2 weeks. You still released the raid with a glitch involved, honestly 99% of trials players would rather it go ahead with the glitch. (Please tell me if you disagree). You could also just REMOVE THE EMOTE FROM THE GAME LIKE YOU DID THE KEK GAUNTLETS. Just refund anyone who bought the emote their silver dust, remove it till its fixed, let us play trials ffs. I have been so positive, defending this game, telling people to stop complaining, etc etc. At this point, what am I supposed to play on destiny 2 for the next 14 days? How am I supposed to defend your game now? There is like 10 people defending this game in a sea of millions of angry customers. You just lost them. I can't even justify playing it myself without trials for 2 weeks. Flashpoints and normal crucible for 2 weeks? Foh. The raid sucks, trials is gone, there is no endgame. Back to overwatch I guess. Honestly this is a huge let down. How could you do this to your game when you MUST know what the current populations attitude towards the current state of the game is. It's like your living in lala land bungie. Look at your forums, 100% all negativity, complaining about the game (to be fair, about stuff that doesn't matter half as much as this tbh). This matters. Trials is (was?) your unique pvp gametype that sets it apart from other games' pvp. Without it, in the current state the game is in, the game might not recover if you do this. You will lose tons of players over the next 2 weeks, because your worried about low-tier players abusing something that wouldn't really effect anything honestly. No one that wouldn't go flawless would go flawless because of this. Those that go flawless every week will still go flawless. Tell me im wrong, I know it wouldn't matter for sure. I know about the glitch, I have the emote, take it away from me, for good, burn it, or whatever, I dont care about the stupid emote. Give me trials. If i ever see someone using that emote your getting kicked from my lobby. That emote should be burned in a fire at this point, its gonna have negative connotations forever now. Forget fixing it. Remove it. It looked stupid and obnoxious anyways. Either way, this is unacceptable. How can you possibly foresee that this will take TWO WEEKS to fix?? HOW???? Is it because your trying so hard to fix the stupid raid glitch that doesn't matter AT ALL?! Those are adds on a boss in a raid. No one cares. The adds aren't complaining on your forums and threatening to quit the game. Pve glitches HARDLY matter at all, ever. (in comparison to CANCELLING their premier pvp weekly event) No one is crying for you to fix that glitch. Drop all of your resources that are trying to fix that stupid glitch that does not matter, and fix this one. This is unacceptable. You should have fixed it by this weekend, removed the emote, or went ahead with trials anyways. This is what you did with the raid, and you STILL awarded world's first to a team that used ANOTHER GLITCH. And to not have it next weekend as well is just a slap in the face. I finally understand why the community is so angry. I have literally been defending this game on these forums because I felt that bungie actually knew what they were doing. Now I know for sure that they do not. They are not in control of their own game. They have a poor online team, clearly. If it takes two weeks to fix a cosmetic exploit, you should fire the person in charge of that. Someone isn't doing their job. Or your online team sucks. Straight up. Two weeks for an emote glitch. This is real life? You do know this will hurt your business side of the game as well right? Less exposure on twitch clearly, smaller population, more and more complaining on the forums, more people quitting, less and less people will be interested when the DLC drops AND THOSE THAT DO STICK AROUND WILL BE SO JADED WHEN IT DROPS THAT IF THAT OSIRIS DLC ISNT ABSOLUTELY MINDBLOWING THEN WE WONT CARE. We will be over it within days. To be honest, i know it is impossible for your to save the game now. I already know. That dlc WONT be mindblowing, lets be real. There is a 5% chance that it will be. I know this because you've already prepackaged content into 2 halves and sold them to us already as 2 items with prefixed dates. And because we played through the entire base campaign of destiny 2, year 4 destiny, and we didn't learn ONE THING ABOUT THE TRAVELLER OR THE SPEAKER. STILL. FFS. How can the dlc be good enough? There is just no way it could possibly save this game, idc if it includes a raid where you ride ahamkara dragons off into the sunset after you slay bungie themselves as the final boss, IT STILL WONT BE GOOD ENOUGH TO SAVE YOUR GAME BECAUSE EVERYONES PISSED. I think if you added a new rarity, ultra exotic, it still wouldn't save your game. Honestly. Let that sink in. its over. Btw where is festival of the lost. I'm guessing your not having that event because halloween is very soon and you haven't announced anything for it. So there is no reason to play this game for anyone who has played a lot at this point. Feelsbad. MAYBE if you had that event this game could be saved until the DLC, but if you are not, and i will be very very surprised if the dlc is good, don't expect to see your game in the top 10 on twitch anytime soon. Page 2 maybe at best. For all the good you do, you screw up constantly. You craft a diamond and you rub it with sandpaper. I never thought i would actually be in here complaining with everyone else, but here I am. You done it this time. I guess fornite and warframe will enjoy the boost in population for the next 2 weeks. When that FREE warframe DLC drops for console soon, its really over for you honestly. Prove me wrong. please. fix it now. make the dlc good. id love to be proved wrong. please prove me wrong. I want to be able to continue enjoying your game, the full game that I paid more than $100 for. We love trials, please please fix this bungie. It is the only incentive for pvp players to play. I'm sorry if this sounds like compaining or ranting but many of us were very surprised to hear that your response to this problem is to cancel trials for 2 weeks. There MUST be a better solution. :'(

1 ReplyBungie is kinda garbage. They are just so dumb- all they had to do was remove 1 letter in the code for the glitched emote, and it wouldn't work. AYYYY temporary yet immediate fix. Trials is online. YET, they are so blind that it takes them 2 weeks for the game to fix itself, and they continue with garbage crucible. Bungie will realize that people will quit the game they change it. In the past, people wouldn't voice their opinions, so the game stayed shitty, and people slowly died off. Giving Bungie loads of criticism will help them improve their game, and ultimately tell them that we're all gone unless they "get their shit together."

3 RepliesWho cares about carries of the nine anyways?
-
Yea this community sucks ~Courtesy of Daworst
-
This is what happens when you "git-r-done" video game development.
-
Blame it on cheaters it shows how toxic trials is.
-
Oh and its probably the dumbest emote in the game..couldnt pay me to use it. But its 1 of bungies microtransactions so they must shut everything down for it. Thus is the worst time to take the only activity keeping half the players content. D2 is my worst dream of destiny happening in real life..no exaggerration! Theyve done everything perfectly wrong!
-
2 RepliesMeh i only beat trials of the nine once and never going back there ever again just like trials of Osiris . What keeps me away from it would be teabaggers and try hard scumbags.
bumbie player report system sucks
-
True is that. I like to add that possible that trials will not be back on next weekend too.
-
1 ReplyI don't play trials but, if even half the posts claiming ddos and lag switch are true, then why cancel trials for an emote glitch when cheating has been happening for a long time? So one form of cheating is acceptable but not another?
-
2 RepliesOkay, Destiny 2 is already getting 'dry' the only fun thing I find each week is Trials of the Nine, but it's delayed due to an EMOTE, this emote allows you to phase through walls and areas you shouldn't be in, but there are a few fixes Bungie can do to easily not cancel our favourite game mode (well, mine anyway.) Bungie, you could make it countdown and if the person(s) is in a glitched area the enemy team can just capture the flag, or you can just disable the emote until you fix it, it's that easy. If there is anything I missed please tell me because I don't want to be bored until weekly reset, anyway weekly reset only entertains me for not even a day because I do things fairly quick. But I really don't want Trials of the Nine being delayed due to some stupid emote. Please take note of this Bungie.

2 RepliesNever seen a company working so hard to drive off its playerbase. Endgame content is already lacking and now no more trials. Perfect opportunity for ppl to start moving on to other games. Once gone they are not coming back. Bungie needs to wake up from whatever dream they are in.
-
2 RepliesBecause disabling the emote till it was fixed would make players stop playing the game...
Completely lost faith in Bungie
-
The only thing that I don't like about this. Is that it negates 2 powerful engrams that could really help low power guardians in our clans. It's not a big deal, but for some of our players that have less time to play/grind - it is a blow to them.
-
5 RepliesMy guess - Bungie is now supporting the game on 3 platforms as of next Tuesday and they need to keep the game consistent across all 3 platforms with respect to features, code line, etc. The code is probably frozen until it is released on PC. With that being said, there really is no reason to postpone trials. The cheaters are rampant every week with no response from Bungie. You would not think an issue most likely not giving a team ANY advantage would cause much of a stir for Trials. Whatever. I don't play Trials, so no skin off my nose.....but there are others that are pissed. You're not generating much goodwill towards your franchise this week Bungie.

4 RepliesAre you even surprised? These idiots are going to take 2 weeks to fix something they could fix in a few hours or a day, because its in the store and they make money off it with silver. Unacceptable as usual from Bungie, they can literally never do anything right. No trials for 2 weeks, which is the only thing that keeps this game alive and the only thing that barely kept D1 going for the last few months or even year, the daily user base is already rapidly dropping, its going to take a HUGE drop now with no Trials for 2 weeks. Cant wait to see how bad our thumbless 0.5 KD crucible devs ruin the crucible in the next coming months when they most likely nerf everything to oblivion and change shit that doesnt need to be changed.

5 RepliesEdited by Fishyb: 10/20/2017 10:19:38 AMOooof. I don’t play trials at all but this is a real kick in the balls to all the people that do. Instead of disabling the emotes full stop for pvp, which is connected to their precious micro transactions, they stop EVERYONE from playing a loved mode for 2 weeks. Slow clap. Slow clap. It’s funny how anything to with the micro transactions gets an immediate and all consuming fix and bungies full attention. Weird that.
-
Just like they changed the appearance for that Kek armor they had temporarily used, they could easily change that emote to something else until it was fixed. I know they have the power to, they never fail to disappoint me
-
3 RepliesAll these -blam!-ing idiots have to do is make it countdown. People glitched out of the map for me last weekend and it did nothing but stall the game out until the team doing it lost. -blam!- you bungie
-
Edited by $hirtless Captain Kirk: 10/20/2017 8:26:30 AMSeriously? I didn't encounter this at all during Trials. Might as well cancel future revenue at this point. This is going to be the death knell for Destiny 2. Population is already way down. Here's the issue: BUNGIE COULD JUST REMOVE THE EMOTE BUT NOOOOO. IT'S TIED TO MICROTRANSACTIONS. CAN'T DO THAT. OKAY CANCEL TRIALS FOR TWO WEEKS. You guys are idiots. You're throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
-
2 RepliesEdited by WesR0se: 10/23/2017 6:12:12 PMHonestly most players like myself were only staying in D2 for Trials, this could not have had worse timing. Only 600,000 people played trials last week. That is less than when Rise of Iron launched for D1. We are only a month into D2's life and the player base is already dwindling. I hope they make changes quickly to make playing D2 rewarding for their devoted fans otherwise we will continue to see a decline in player population which is bad for everyone.
-
1 ReplyThis is the most retarded thing I've ever seen Bungie do this glitch happend toward the begining of the game but it doesnt affect trials that much.Trials gamemodes are objective based so they wont even win if they do glitch through the walls
-
1 ReplyI was looking forward to Trials. This would have been my first time for D2. Now I have to wait til November? Over an emote?? *sighs* I just...can't understand this.
-
1 ReplyAhhh no wonder quickplay was so sweaty last night, I was actually leaving matches vs full teams. Poor bastards were just trying to fill the void (it didn’t whisper back)
-
Watch for record low player population this weekend, we just may not come back either.
-
1 ReplyOr in your update yesterday you could have just removed the walk and let trials go on as scheduled. In D1 they removed something, I can’t remember, and allowed for the usually schedule game play to go on as scheduled until it was fixed. Then they put it back in the game.
