I like D2 a lot, especially the PVE side of things is good. But I think PvP is not as engaging as in D1. Granted, less lag is good, but the teamshooting gets boring. Even on Quickplay, its all about teamshots. I thought that the target was to have more 1v1's using primaries and variety in gameplay. Honestly, the variety in PvP is next to nothing and this is not good for the game in the long run.

Yea this game SUCKS and Bungie HATES fun👎🏻

20 RepliesJust get good Jesus everybody is whining about team shooting and playing solo and not being able to do anything well I have a 2.5 k/d and I play solo ALL THE TIME what's your excuse now? Cuz I have no problems if you see 2 people come around the corner and u decide to battle them head on OF COURSE you gonna lose turn and run after a few shots to your team or something you don't have to engage in every battle you run into
-
11 RepliesTeamshooting is not a test of skill. It's a test of communication and teamwork. Great for competitive and trials. Horrible for quick play aka casual. In my 20 years of gaming, some of the best moments I've seen have been when the underdog goes against multiple players and wins... This is much less frequent in the new pvp. Bungie seems to be going full esports teamwork in a game which is a bland fps shooter. This works in larger player games like battlefield. Some players get objective, some focus on killing, some drive in wildly on a jeep covered in c4 yelling yeehaw! This fails in basic 4v4 fps shooters.
-
5 RepliesTeamshooting is the way to play in a game that has overshields. Sorry its not like COD or battlefield where you can 1 v 3 a team because of low TTKs
-
Yes, yes it is. We are all doomed to run straight into bullet laws for the next two to three years. Get used to it, and prepare for the nurse. Because Bungie did not learn their lesson from the first game nerfing the best gun to make room for the next best gun which they will nerf to make room for the next best gun which they will nerf to make room for the next best gun which they will nerf to make room for the next best gun, over and over and over again until Destiny 3. And then they will start all over again.

2 RepliesI go in, get my powerful engram, and get out. A lot of what was bad or complained about in D1 is still there... Hit registration, lag, bloom on hand cannons, shooting and being shot through obvious solid surfaces... At least then we had great character movement, powerful abilities, and the option to play alone and not hold hands with the other players on your team. It might be better for those that think this is E-sport material (which i don't personally agree with) but it crapped on space magic (the whole point behind Destiny in the first place) and how space magic made it FUN. If you find yourself referring to space magic as "crutches", Destiny isn't for you(or wasn't), and the rest of us would appreciate it if you'd stop crapping on a fun game. There are actual competitive shooters out there to play and have been designed with "you" in mind.

That's the issue with low DPS shooters. Team play is more important and individual play makes less of a difference. I knew this would be a complaint after trying out the beta in the summer. The game's dps is just too low on primaries. I'm on board with a lot of the changes but the weapons (and grenades) need significant buffs. Team play is nice but shouldn't be required in quickplay- ranked play I understand. Otherwise solo queue is totally pointless.
-
OP: I want to nuke any player upon seeing them from any distance.
-
I have to admit it's a bit annoying in Quickplay, where the game should be more relaxed for the average PvP player. In some cases it's not though. They just sit back and hide in a corner and try to pick you off with the Mida when you try to get near them. That sux. Which is why I'd love to see a change to the way quickplay works, or at least some additional game modes to force players to move. Or just for the fun of it, lets make it a changing environment, where walls shift so that when you think you're save turtle-ing in your little corner, you're suddenly exposed because the wall behind you is gone now. Or just make the gave 4v4v4, so you always have to watch your back.
-
39 RepliesI never quite understood this complaint. You're complaining because people are killing you with teamwork in a 4v4 team-oriented game. You're the guy who runs off right when the rest of the team goes left then whines when you get killed repeatedly aren't you. Sorry every game can't be clash.
-
Yea, sad face
-
Yep, basically just high-cal and teamshots.
-
Team shooting 4 man teams are just a prime example of losers who arnt gud at PvP and that's all there is to it I'm the one that runs left when my team runs right so I flank those team shooting twats and wipe thier entire team 14-0 bit chs how's that butt hurt 🤣🤣🤣 the only thing team killing is gunna do is give some of the better players a very high k/d ha ha ha ha ha you losers should fan out for 1v1s more that's the way you git gud peace
-
Yeah this team shooting is a pain. All anyone does is camp in a group and wait or run in a pack. I miss the days where you can go in and as a single player do your thing and not have to fight off 4 people. You don't have to run with your other 3 people either to win. I get that they want to make this a team and community effort but not all of us are with a fireteam.

1 ReplyEdited by ElderWolfWalker: 10/2/2017 1:08:27 PMCan't stand d2 pvp. D1 pvp you felt so powerful. Abilities were much more important. The map design was better and allowed people to use verticality to be unpredictable. Shotguns, snipers and fusion rifles should've stayed as a secondary. Say what you want about shotguns, but shotguns were actually a great solution when outnumbered. You could push camping teams. Snipers were great for those that were great at positioning them selves and predicting when someone would push around a corner. You could punish people greatly with abilities and secondaries if you were smart. That is all gone now. Solo players are punished greatly now, even good solo players. You can quickly kill 2-3 people with a secondary in d1, even against unfair odds if you played smart. Now, you're screwed. This state of PVP even results in people running away from fights way too often. It's boring. They don't run because they're bad, they're running because the odds of them overcoming 2v1s are low. This simply results in stalemates. Just my opinion.

6 RepliesThe counter to the "Teamshooting Tactic" is pulse-type grenades. Forces a scatter, then easy picks.
-
8 RepliesIt's so boring. There are no plays being made...no amazing highlights. It's probably the worst pvp experience I have played in a long time. Overwatch/Fortnite BR CRUSHES Crucible.
-
1 ReplyEdited by sixty9tea: 10/3/2017 7:08:25 PMYes. Your best weapon is a 4 headed monster all shooting at the same target. New Meta is the "4 headed monster" Bungie wanted to totally f$ck the guy/gal who used to jump into D1 crucible and dominate without running around with 3/5 butt buddy's. Shotguns gone, check Fusions gone, check Grenades suck, check 2 vs 1 will always win no matter what, check

1 ReplyPvP feels like a tag team wrestling match. Terrible. Lower ttk. As of right now, the constant swap shooting deters personal skill and moreover? Forces everyone to play one strategy only. Holding hands. Make a 6v6 playlist that has decreased ttk across the board. D1 crucible was a blast. I'm all for teamwork, but this isnt a fun way to go about it.
-
2 RepliesThe only way to decrease team shooting is too change the map arrangements or decrease TTK across the board (but high ttk is part of original Destiny pvp). And either way, team shotting will still exist. You can't stop people from working as a team an using basic strategy.
-
It's their socialist experiment. You either conform and teamshoot or die! Deviation from bungie protocol on what they want you to do will only be met with death and boredom!
-
I'm so mlg. Get bodied scrub. Don't like it go play another game.
Sarcasm
Edited by Truthiness_Inc: 10/3/2017 12:57:30 PM
Is teamshooting really the final state of PVP?
Short answer-yes Long answer-sure is. I hate it personally.
-
4 RepliesAgree 100%. This is the most boring state Destiny PvP has ever been in. Team shooting combined with the MIDA Meta-tool means that most games boil down to standing on opposite ends of the map shooting until someone is in the red, hiding, and then repeating the process again.
-
It's so horrible right now. I actually miss D1 crucible. Even though, it had obvious problems, it was enjoyable to play. Now that I'm a solo player, it sucks even more since it's always matching me with clans that do nothing but team shoot. Every encounter is a 2+v1. And for some reason, I always get matched with the teammates who either, 1) sit idly behind you until you die or 2) run from every encounter, leaving you to fend for yourself. The other thing that's making it difficult to enjoy is their lack of viable guns. It seems like D1 had hundreds of guns to choose from and D2 has like 20. -.-
-
16 RepliesAnd most ridiculous of al - people argue that team shooting needs skill - with your best head seaker skills a team will kill you by shooting in your right toe befor u are able to kill one of them That'S so boring - there is no fun in the actual state of PvP
