Empty Chests need to be addressed
Everybody is an uproar about shaders of all things - but we have bigger issues on our hands guys.
There is a serious problem with loot in this game right now. Treasure Chests, Resource Nodes - and Even [u][b]Cayde's Stashes[/b][/u] have about a 1 in 5 chance of yielding absolutely nothing inside. (For some players).
-It has nothing to do with running away from the chest
-It has nothing to do with objects on the ground needing to be picked up
-It has nothing to do with glimmer cap
-It has nothing to do with Resource nodes sometimes only giving glimmer
-My game is not lagging
-Waiting 15 seconds or a full minute, it doesn't matter - it NEVER pops up or gives anything
-It's NOT a visual bug, you do NOT get the items. They do NOT go to postmaster
I've heard it all today guys, every single way possible to make this a user end issue - and it's all wrong. It's a bug, plain and simple. For those of you who don't think it's a big deal - you obviously don't understand the value of Cayde's cashes yet.. (Protip, they have an insanely high chance for exotics)

UPDATE 2: I just started my Titan and I made it to EDZ and started the first adventure from Devrin. He sends you across the street to the other building to open a cache - well lo and behold it was empty. Haven't opened anything else with this character yet except the one chest in the Dark Forest.
Basically my second chest in the game and nothing. Lovely. Just goes to show that it's also not an anti-loot mechanism in play.

chests always give me tokens, just not glimer because im always maxed, but i noticed the world resources barely ever drop for me

This happened to me yesterday. It was one of Caydes treasure chests. I've noticed a few other minor bugs that don't really effect the game but this is definitely the most annoying one I've come across.

1 ReplyThis is also happening to me. When I try to farm tokens and materials, at some point the chests and nodes stop giving me anything. After I hand in the tokens and materials to the vendor, I can loot again. I don't know if there is a limit to how many of them you can hold at a time, but it makes it annoying having to fast travel back to the vendor every 10 minutes

I have had major problems with this. On Titan earlier today, for example, only about 1 in 3 chests/materials yielded anything at all. I probably missed out on about 40 items. I was even tracking it in my inventory to confirm that nothing was showing up. I got frustrated and went to the EDZ where the problem seemed to have cleared up.

It happens to me frequently as well. I haven't gone to any of Cayde's Stashes but looting the regular chests or planetary materials on any planet sometimes doesn't give me anything.

I've only looted 1 Exotic engram and I've played enough on two characters complete the campaign, all the quests, farming HPE's, and beat the Nightfalls MULTIPLE times and reach over 270. Yet only ONE Exotic engram. Meanwhile my friends are getting them left and right like they're green engram from D1. BUNGIE IM SERIOUS THIS IS A REAL BUG

I suggest completely rebooting your game system and try what you did again. Make sure what you say is repeatable. If you can replicate it, it's most likely a bug as you say and in that case I would report it to bungo (how to do that I am not sure.) Although, it's more than likely they already know about it and as we speak they're finding a fix. Edit: PS You should linger in front of the chest just to make sure you're picking up any loot that flies out. There's two types of chests: one chest deposits the rewards directly into your inventory when you interact [spoiler]randomly spawning planet chests, public event chests, lost sector chests[/spoiler] and the other scatters all the glimmer, engrams, and tokens on the ground for you to walk over and pick up [spoiler]high-value targets, vanguard strike chests, not sure what else yet.[/spoiler]

While Farming in EDZ, every container I open will be empty for a good 3-5 minutes after I find a good chunk of them together and open them all within 5-10 seconds of each other. I end up waiting a few minutes, do a public event and by the time I'm done, it's all fixed. I also noticed that chests that drop from events and high value targets will always have their loot, even seconds after opening multiple empty containers. Could be a bug, could be Bungie trying to get players into other activities and not just doing farming loops.

To the people saying it's working as intended,l saying that sometimes they just drop glimmer well I DIDNT EVEN GET THAT. Just bought one and was at 4315 glimmer. Opened it and I'm at 4315 glimmer. Legendary shards didn't go up, bright bits or whatever the hell didn't go up. XP didn't increase. I opened the chest and literally nothing at all happened.

Eh. I figured it was working as intended. Sometimes you find glimmer plus an engram, glimmer plus a token, glimmer plus gear, or just glimmer. Rng at work.

1 ReplySometimes the "lootsplosion" isn't big enough and the items don't auto loot per say. There's been times where I've had to walk around the chest and even hop onto it to get the loot.

Happens to me quite a lot. My advice to anyone that hasn't collected all of Cayde's stashes yet is to not do so until they officially fix the issue. I will be doing the same thing.
