TUNE PVP SEPARATELY THAN PVE

Do it. Stop the cycle of ruining weapons and game play to satisfy PVP players at the cost of Space Mage super Pew powers. PVE is all that should matter. If anyone wants pure PVP , then go play CSGO Edit : I was obviously joking about the CSGO portion. I figured that would be obvious that I was kinda joking when I said Space Mage Super Pew powers :| But yes PVP, and PVE have no reason to be tuned together in ANY game, not just Destiny. Edit again: Weapon power. Our classes are fine to tune for both since there isn't that big of an effect.

  • I'm going to be the odd man out here, but consider this. You spend an hour or so in PvE, blasting everything down with space magic, 20 second grenades, 1 hit melees, and so on. Then you go into PvP, and your supers take longer, your grenades take longer, and your melees take several hits. Wouldn't that seem odd to you? Like, why would you all of a sudden get weaker just because you went from 1 mode to the next?

    • bungie will never do this because it makes sense they could have easily slowed the regen of ammo for ice breaker in pvp or maybe even made icebreaker a pve only weapon

      • I agree to a certain extent. I'm fine with the classes and abilities being balanced the same. BUT WEAPONS NEED TO BE BALANCED DIFFERENTLY ACROSS PVP AND PVE.

        • The vast majority of Destiny players have been screaming and begging for the separation of the two sides of the game since Destiny 1 launched. Bungie has no interest in listening to their Players on this, even though the solution is easy, and would require no additional man power or development time to implement such a separation. Basically; it's Bungie's biggest middle finger to their Players.

          • SO like how they increased nade damage in PvE only? People gotta realize they're already tuning them separately. They have that ability. Now it's just up to the decision makers at Bungie to tune it correctly.

              • Well, in what way. Destiny PvP being mixed with PvE is the main reason I play it with others. It benefits both modes for me. I hope you can respect that, but still, in what way would you separate them.

                • Maybe I should just stop commenting on these, because they keep coming up. They. Are. Tuning. Pvp. Differently. Than. PvE. I should copy and paste this to a word doc so I can put it in every one of these posts asking for something that is already happening. Please, lets focus on things that need to yet happen not things that already exsist. Eg. Man I wish I could have three characters.

                • Wouldn't they be able to "solve" the issue just by nerfing PvE enemy health? I mean. That's what you're interested in. Making it easier to kill the baddies in PvE. So stop calling for a split and just call for an easier PvE.

I think the problem is Bungie is trying to make a new "Halo." In the sense that they are trying to focus on the PVP aspect of the game too much. Lets just all agree that no matter what Bungie does, this game could and never will reach the level Halo had in PVP. The most amazing aspect of this game and what makes it stand out from others in the same genre, its PVE. Dungeons and Raids in a quality FPS game. I can't think of anything that comes close to how amazing that last sentence said in another FPS title. So, yes, I think Bungie should take a page out of their host's page (Blizzard) and tune PVE separately from PVP.

                  • Bungie is too lazy to tune them separately The new weapon class system shows it

                  • World of Warcraft does this very well in the newest expansion. Final Fantasy 14 also. Your stats are normalized and abilities have their own tuning for PVP. It's a good system.

                  • exactly this. pvp needs to be seperate from pve. pvp is and keeps ruining pve.

Nah, we/Bungie if we are going to screw one mode up we might as well screw them both up. Edit: This is nothing but this company not wanting to put a real effort into this game. It's a fact PvE does not "Need" every single adjustment as PvP does. If this company found a group that is actually willing to play the entire game to see how things play out and adjusted accordingly, I would consider buying D2 before it was released. But Bungie said and have been for the last comple years. (We refuse to look for other options.) This is how much respect this company has for the PvE gamers...

Also as far as things actually changing in terms of cooldowns or expectations goes Destiny 2 is already proof that people won't like it as Bungie predicted. Plenty of people have made posts about how they for instance expect to be able to use their abilities as they are accustomed to cooldowns in D1. It's that disconnect that bungie was avoiding, and rightfully so. Just something I noticed no one has really caught on to.

                  • You know that they can tune them separately and have before, right? AT least wait until the game launches before you start criticizing it.

So weapon power is the only issue? Meaning the damage output? If so you realize those have always been separate right? The only thing that will never change is how things work. For example a nova bomb is a ball launched at a target that explodes. This is what it is not matter what space you are in, its physicality you might say. Which are the hitboxes, travel times, and how they interact with other things in the game physically. How much damage they do can be changed though, and always could be changed. This goes for everything, so why this question pops up all the time is simply a result of bungie not taking advantage of this. As well as the community just disagreeing with balance. Also health pools, and perks only functional in PvE are possible. So really they have always been separated. Still waiting for the day people get this.

                        • If it's that big of a deal.. should have separate everything. Very well tuned oil machine for pvp. Via armor and weapons you can only get in pvp. But auto change when you go pve and the other way around. This way you don't get OP pvp gear in pve and vise versa. More like creating the game for 2 different aspect all together. But this way you can have you op weapon in pve that's not op sand your well balanced op pvp weapon that may or may not be stronger than the pve equivalent
