Bungie and moderators edit posts to save face?

I previously made a post entitled "Rank 8 in the world has a 0.4kd" I did not state any gamer tags, or even what this person was rank 8 in - It could have been strike scoring, raid completions or something in PvP. Yet bungie and their ninjas still decided to "moderate" it. Why was this done? To save face as having a top tear player with stats that may suggest misconduct is just straight embarrassing? Or did I actually break the rules/COC? Edit: link to previous post https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/229389860/0/0
Moderator edit: This thread has been moved to #Feedback forum so that other Destiny players can weigh in. See Cozmo's thread for more information about the #Feedback tag and its uses. Feel free to private message the moderator who moved your post, link to topic for further clarification about why this topic was moved.
I like the dude at .3 in the top 100. Most of his victories come against 1 person and there are no kills. That is super lucky. Like, every time he plays it's against quitters.

You gave a rank on what I'm assuming is a ranking website. In other words, though you didn't specifically state their name in the post you did identify the person specifically. The ninja edit confirms this, only the information that made identification possible was removed. Same shit, trying to be cute and find loopholes doesn't work though.

            • The ninja who edited your post clearly stated the reason why, you violated forum rules and they did exactly what they are supposed to.

            • No. What you did is called "supplying identifying information". Although you didn't name the individual directly, you have enough info that one can pretty easily find out who he is. The Mods---appropriately---called you on it.

                • Maybe this had been done - because it is quite easy to identify the gamer tag from the description in your post, which could be seen as a violation of forum rules? By the way the issue are not the stats, lag is the issue in this case. If this is caused by cheating or just by a bad network connection in combination with streaming is difficult to decide.

                  • I find the comments in this thread pretty entertaining. It's pretty clear what they did and why they did it, but everyone replying is ignoring that acting like Ninjas are trying to cover up that there are cheaters in Destiny. They edited your post and removed information that made it easy to identify the GT or PSN of whatever user you believed to be a cheater. There isn't some big conspiracy trying to hide the fact that there are cheaters in Destiny, and if you truly believe that you're either extremely new to the forums or just willfully ignorant. People have been posting about this stuff without getting their post edited and without being banned since before ToO launched. They just left out any information that might point you to the person they suspected was cheating. If you had made the same post, without that info and link, your post wouldn't have been touched. Seems pretty straightforward to me, but then again I've never been good at making up conspiracy theories.

https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/229389860/0/0 In that post you made, there was no name. For some reason, a ninja decided to insert "redacted" in an empty place and put in a spoiler implying he removed a name/names. A name that was not there. Why would he do this? I believe it was to present the appearance that you violated the code of conduct in order for him to justify the removal of the #Destiny tag so that the post would no longer be discoverable on the forum. If so, That would be fraud. What would his motivation be? Is it to enforce the code of conduct? I don't see how he was doing that in this case, so what else could it be? I believe it's to protect Bungie's reputation by concealing just how embarrassingly bad they are at stopping cheaters.

                      • The sad truth (not nerfed): You really think that they would let a post that shows that a Top player is cheating see the light of day? On the eve of D2's launch? A game that they "focused on an esport approach", but didn't change anything to make it "hacker-safe"? Bungie always took cheaters under their wings. Many people played them and reported them to no avail. Then Bungie did a Ban wave once to "appeal to the crowd" and people think that they're taking action, when they do nothing against them. Every weekend we see more and more video proof that people are getting DDoS'd, every Iron Banner we see people with "Doctrine of Passing" Hawksaws, MIDAs and even Havoc Pidgeons, but everything stays the same. That's why I tell people that they shouldn't consider Destiny as an esport. Because the ones holding the strings don't care.

                        • And Bungie is heading into PC market :D Just imagine how easy it will be to cheat in Destiny 2 on PC where you even could cheat at a console. This game is unfortunately designed to die in 3 to 6 months.

                        • I really think Bungo tries to keep the fact that they can't deal with cheaters as low key as they can.
