I personally enjoyed it, but my friends refer to me as the video game evangelist. I have a knack for finding the good in things instead of focusing on the bad. Anyone else out there enjoy the beta?
Why or why not? I'd love to discuss rationally.
Edit: Thank you everyone for your amazing input and points of view. I'm off to bed. I'll be sure to read through everyone's posts.

Edited by A Tigerstorm: 7/29/2017 12:07:42 AMI did. I really enjoyed it. I'm mostly happy that the arc hunter subclass isn't shit in pve like D1

I had that same hollow feeling i did when i played Destiny 1. I was always expecting something more but it never happened. Although, i wonder how i would've felt i haven't watched the mission and strike already or if they let us play different ones.
-
I dug it. Super pumped for the game.
-
1 ReplyIt was like a demo of a good game but smaller and much worse.
-
No. The new weapon loadout is cancer, and supers are weak as -blam!-.
-
3 RepliesHow could anyone enjoy a beta that lacked having a raid ?
-
1 ReplyDidnt play it

The game looks great and has some nifty changes....but primary only pve does not interest me.
-
Aside from the heavy SBMM in quickplay ( which i hope gets toned down by alot at launch), yes.
-
Yes I did
-
I enjoyed it. I honestly had lost a lot hope for this game because of all the bad news but after the beta I'm definitely going to preorder
-
I liked it.
-
I did

I got bored of it fast, but realize how small it is and still can't wait for the full game.

No, nobody had fun in the beta. Anybody who says otherwise is in denial because they played D1 far too long to move on to anything else.

4 RepliesYep. I dig. Can't wait for D2 to drop. O.K...give a second...o.k got my bucket...go ahead trolls throw your salt. I'm ready. Let's see which douche canoe is going to be first to tell me how "wrong" I am for being excited.

Definitely cant wait ... my thought with gameplay .... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ePuhCoBy9dU

Edited by Romulus: 7/28/2017 9:25:50 PMI wish they would have showed off some of the shaders honestly and opened up the intrinsic perk feature to show off the weapon customization they keep bragging about.
-
I enjoyed it. Some people expected for it to play just like d1, and it didn't. Every problem I had with the beta is being fixed so I'm stocked for d2
-
I thought it was a great beta. Seems that many of these new kid players don't know the difference between a beta and a demo. If the question is how did you like the beta and knowing what a beta is I would say I loved it. If I were any of these kiddos complaining the beta wasn't more like a demo I'd say no I didn't like it. HOWEVER IT WASNT A DEMO.
-
It was awesome, just kind of short. Which doesn't really bug me considering vanilla D1 was like 18gb and vanilla D2 is almost 70gb
-
Finding the good in things is a good way to go thru life. Trust me, being negative is -blam!-ing exhausting
-
I have the same "problem" as you do. I also tend to focus only on the good things and just ignore or work around the bad aspects, which the beta definitely had. But hey, if a beta that only had 1 mission, 1 strike, and two Crucible game modes and maps entertained me for almost a week, then I'm set for the full game.

2 RepliesI enjoyed it.....but I didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoy playing D1. I think the changes to PVP worked out well...and the changes to the network held up well. Saw the occasional teleporting Guardian. But the changes pretty much fixed the shot-through-walls problems for me. Plus I love the changes to the radar. Its brought flanking back into the game. I do have concerns about the 4v4 format though. Its not going to be casual-friendly....and all it will take is one selfish player to ruin the experience for a whole team. I think Bungie got the BIG things right for PVE. The Mission was well-designed. The Cut scenes were great. Looks like the story is going to be in good hands. BUT....the game was VERY poorly tuned for the strike. I felt slow. Underpowered. I was constantly scrounging for ammo. I was constantly at risk for running out of ammo during the boss fight. It took forever for our supers, grenades and melees to recharge.....and (while fun as hell to play) the Dawnblade super's damage was pretty unimpressive. ..and this got pretty frustrating. But I'm cautiously optimistic, because all these frustrations are TUNING problems....and therefore problems that can be readily fixed. Nothing I saw or experienced is a "dealbreaker" for me. I'll still buy the game. OTOH, I think this beta was kind of a failure from the stand point of trying to show people who might be on the fence about the game, something that would "wow" them....and convince them that they **had** to buy the game.

The very little that was actually in the BETA was pretty fun and I had a blast.
-
Yes, definitely. The only complaints I had were fairly minor and easily fixable.
