What are your thoughts on Marijuana?
Haven't seen one of these threads in a while, figured it would be interesting to see peoples thoughts.
Edit: It's been nearly 24 hours now, and the results have been really interesting. It's flip flopped between approve for medical and approve for all uses. The first vote, however was for disapprove of it all.

12 RepliesRecreational drug users are pathetic people, and deserve to be looked down upon. For they are nothing but a burden upon society. They use illegal substances that make them act like children because "it feels good" in short, they don't care about how their actions affect anyone else. It's all about them so remember they are people of very weak character, who can't be trusted. Everything else is uninteresting, all they live for is their next "fix". It's one of the most pathetic crutches out there, and usually one they cling to the hardest. Throwing away their money, that could go to so many other better things. Then imposing on others, whether it be begging to their family or friends, or stealing from others. It's truly a pathetic existence.

6 RepliesPretty bias towards, but i do think more research needs to be done before its legalized recreationaly. I can see why places legalise it, it brings in revenue, its no more harmfull than tobacco or alcohol, it stops it from being a "gateway drug" (exposing illegal buyers to other illicit substances) Buuuut on the other hand it definitely does cause mental issues in some users, is that realy worth it? Schizophrenia's a direct link, different forms of phycosis are a direct link, addictions! Hey were gonna get weed addicts! Is it worth legalizing something saying... yea it'll -blam!- up alot of people but the majority will be fine. I'm kinda in the NO about that buuuut the same can be said for alcohol or tobacco

19 RepliesJust like all drugs, I think it should should be banned except for medical purposes. Marijuana has caused too much trouble. A lot of motives from murder come from the whole, "he owed me money" thing. Drugs are dangerous for more than just your health, but your criminal record too. If you smoke it outside of the privacy of your own home, that's a charge. Smoke it under age, another charge. It's a very bad idea to get into it.

Additionally, I strongly doubt marijuana legalization would reduce prison populations. NC, it's a slap on the wrist fine unless you've gotten caught like a dozen times. Even then, you'll probably just get probation. If, at that point, you haven't learned the -blam!-ing lesson, you deserve to be in prison for a bit. Anyone going to jail on marijuana is going because they're really goddamn stubborn or because marijuana got them caught doing other, more illegal shit. Really, all the laws do is weed out the ones who'll be in and out of the system earlier.

I approve of it for all uses. I have depression issues that make sleeping rather tough. I can take stuff like Nyquil but that makes you wake up feeling like a zombie. But I also am not allowed "medical use" because my circumstances don't qualify me for it. Thankfully I'm a Colorado resident and can buy it. Eating one gummy about an hour before bed has really helped me out a ton, and were it not available for recreational use, I wouldn't be able to have it.

In high school I smoked at least 3 bowls a day, and my current roommates all smoke constantly. There's no drastic consequences for it's use, but I do see my friends that smoke constantly just get less done than me and my friends who don't. I also disapprove of consistent use of anything that's used to get your mind off the present. So if it can be done in a way that doesn't hinder, which I've never witnessed but I assume is possible, then ok, it's at best neutral. (Not including medical use, that's obviously better than neutral. But honestly, THC has no medicinal benefit, it's the CBD. I don't consider people wanting to smoke their anxiety away instead of facing and diminishing it using it beneficially.)

Should be like cigarettes, with the age purchase restriction. It can -blam!- up memory for people under 25, but cigarettes give you cancer but purchasable at 18, alcohol I'm not even gonna burn that can of worms but purchasable at 21. Weed is less harmful than half the shit out here thats legal.

You can't Od, Add Revenue to country or state, Reduce America's prison system of people who were caught and sent to prison for weed, etc. They're are lots of postives to legalizing it and maybe like 1 or 2 negative. It's fine in moderation.
