Top 6 weapons in the current PvP meta according to destiny tacker: http://destinytracker.com/ Palindrome: 10.1% Icebreaker: 7.5% Eyasluna: 7% MIDA Multitool: 6.4% Wormwood: 3.9% The Last Word: 2.2% Of the top 6 weapons, primaries make up ~25.7% whereas specials make up ~11.4% Unfortunately, this only accounts for what ~37.1% of the PvP population uses, and doesn't list kills, but in the top 6 are 4 primaries and 2 specials. Do/assume with this information what you will.

5 RepliesI'm willing to try D2's PvP out, assuming I am able to play the beta (as mentioned, non-preorderers will be one a very tight clock, between the download and the three-day limit). But given that D1's PvP was made much worse in an effort to make it more like D2's... well, I'm not especially optimistic.

2 RepliesIndeed, gone are the days of nightstalkers being able to smoke/ grenade before every gunfight. Gone are the days of endless one hit kill sticky grenades from sunsinger warlocks and sunbreaker titans. Gone are the days of the primary shotguns and primary snipers. Gone are the days of self regenerating ammo.... What are the scrubs ever going to do? Every single crutch ability and weapon is either getting taken away or having a hellacious cooldown put on them so they can't be spammed anymore. It's very exciting to me because it means that the poor bastards can't pad their k/d ratios with special weapons anymore. I predict it'll go like this: They'll begin by attempting to camp so they can get power ammo, only to have it stolen by another teammate causing instantaneous butthurt. Then in their rage, they'll get shot in the back by someone not throwing a hissy-fit. Then, once everyone else gets wise to their game, they'll push the power ammo harder and kill the camping bastards. Outraged that they can't camp because the other team has a level playing field with them, they'll attempt to learn to primary fight. When they realize they aren't succeeding against other players who didn't crutch on special or abilities, they'll cry and shut the game off. Later, they'll turn it back on. Rinse and repeat. Glorious.

I've always been effective with primaries. This is a non-issue for me, but I look forward to the whines and tears of the sniper campers and shotgun scrubs.

What they should have done is made all the weapons primaries except for Heavies, sidearms, and hand cannons.

Ever since they announced the new loadout system for D2, I'm starting to hate our current system more & more. It could be because it's wrath week, but I keep realizing how much better D1 would be with D2 loadouts.
