Can't we just all be decent people?
So, I just saw a post about "chivalry should return", and everyone's like "feminists should stop" and I'm just here like WHY IS EVERYONE FIGHTING?! Why can't we actually just all be reasonably nice?

2 RepliesEh, I agree. But that's not always the answer. Because people are cruel in the real world. And they'll take advantage of your kindness. I had a co-worker who did just that. My oldest brother still does that. So I say this. An eye for an eye. If people are cruel and take advantage of you, show no mercy, don't even help when they need it the most. Some of us drink out of the carton. Some of us catfish people. Some of us don't clean up after we shave. Some of us hold the door for someone who's 15ft away so they have to awkwardly jog towards us. Don't mistake discourse for agggression. Peoples' opinions/dissent aren't the problem; the nature of their conveyance is what becomes problematic. This post is actually somewhat of an example of that, in that you're sort of condemning people for having opposing opinions. The scenario you described didn't sound unreasonable or uncivil at all.
