So, I like everyone else have seen numerous post about 30 FPS vs 60 FPS for console players. People talking about it is such a game changer and would influence their purchase of Destiny 2. So I did some googling like anyone else can do and came across a youtube which linked to their website to see the difference between 30 and 60 FPS. Watching this comparison I personally did not see anything so Significant that it would make me such a better player or the picture quality so great or whatever. There is a difference or everything would be locked at 30 FPS. When watching NFL, I can 100% tell if a person has a 60hz tv or a 120hz tv. Really easy to tell, gaming it's a little different but again, I didn't see such a difference that it changed the way I will forever view or play video games. Just my .02.

Graphics, fps and all that fancy stuff are never and will never be a reason for me to buy a game. Don't know why people are so fixated on that. Game can look as great as it wants, when gameplay, story, etc sucks the looks don't matter. And honestly, people who are like "I played a game with 60fps once and then went back to 30 fps and I had to puke/it looked like seizure/etc- please stop being drama queens. Keep it real.

I've been playing Destiny at 30, so I could care less. Would be nice, but I'm not going to cry like a baby over it. I've watched videos discussing the fact that the Pro was made for 4k and not necessarily 60fps. Meaning that there may be some truth to what Bungie said, and if that possibility exist, it would be awful to give 60 to Pro users and not 4 users. Pro users woul have an advantage in the Crucible.

23 RepliesThere is no excuse the game won't run 1080p 60fps, it's 20 flipping 17 for gods sake. Just plain laziness on bungies end.
-
16 RepliesScientifically, it is damn near impossibke for the unaided human eye to tell a difference. There is a lot of placebo when it comes to the debate. I dont see or feel a difference personally so i dont really care.

You can keep cutting edge graphics as far as I am concerned. So long as the gameplay is solid and has a decent story I am satisfied. Just because graphics are pretty doesn't mean a game is good.

It makes a large difference in a competitive environment. For most players it's not a big deal but when players are experienced & every action is crucial, that's when things like fps, hit registration, tickrate, & net code are called into question. Overwatch started with a similar tick rate to destiny & because of that it was a joke in competitive circles. It was fixed within a couple months because that's how important it was. It started with 60 fps though. If bungie intends to focus on pve content with this next game (which is what they should do & appear to be doing) then it's fine that it's still 30fps. On the other hand, if they move towards competitive play with this 4v4 thing & the Trials of the Nine then they need to make changes that promote competitive play. For instance a ranked playlist with competitive matchmaking & rules. A social playlist with connection based matchmaking. Add custom matches shortly after release & it would be fine.

9 RepliesIt would be nice to eat this sandwich without the turd in it but honestly I don't mind the taste too much so I'll eat it anyways. 60fps is always better.
-
2 RepliesTo people who say that they can't see a difference, make sure you're on a device that supports 60 FPS.
-
12 RepliesActually the human eye can only see 30fps.
-
9 RepliesI never thought I could see the difference between 60 and 30 fps either, until I played doom for about a week and played destiny right after that. It seemed as if I was having a seizure
-
4 RepliesEww 30fps looks disgusting next to 60 fps lol how someone can evenlau at 30 fps is crazy.
-
Does it really matter so long as the game is good? Take horizon zero dawn for example. Looks so great and pretty on pro but the gameplay and story are beyond almost everything available that it doesn't matter at all.
-
2 RepliesDidnt notice any difference at all. Dont know why all the people are upset about nothing.
-
2 Repliesour brain cant even comprehend more than like 25 ( i could be wrong but i know it douse not go has high as 30 ) so why are we complaining?
-
Difference is negligible. Let the graphics snobs whine like little babies. It's what they do best. F 'em.
-
I think if they would've made PvP 60fps it would greatly improve the experience. I think that would've been something possible for PS4 Pro and Scorpio to handle.
-
17 RepliesI think 30fps actually looks more realistic, take the video of the jeep for instance, when u are actually driving at speed real life is much more like 30fps than 60fps, yes 60fps is smoother but looks too smooth and just weird.
-
In my own opinion, 30 doesn't look to different. Perhaps more real? I mean, there's silk smooth, liquid smooth, and then too smooth. Also, it compliments the tone of D2, so I'm not worried. It'll be an ICE SMOOTHY time, eh?

as far as looks go if were being totally honest destiny doesnt have amazing graphics

10 Replies30 fps is not a deal breaker but the difference is obvious. If you have any of the Forza games you can readily tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps in the same game. Normal gameplay is locked at 60fps but replays are locked at 30fps. Play a normal race then watch the replay from the cockpit view and the 30fps replay will look choppy by comparison. Again, not a deal breaker, but there is a difference.

3 RepliesHow can you tell by watching football if the TV is 120 hz or 60 hz? Isn't broadcast television usually 30 or 60 fps? So the difference between a 60 hz TV and a 120 hz TV should be nothing.
-
I wish you showed the videos and let people guess which is which
-
exactly you saw a video about it , its different when you try it for yourself and destiny is unlock in PC.
-
3 RepliesThere's obviously a difference. The question at hand is, does it really matter?
Nah Fam
-
Only difference is that 60fps looks a little...weirder.
