I've taken a bit of a hiatus from offtopic, but I'm back now. Over the past few days I've been trying to understand why so many people believe in an obviously flawed and false conception of reality. Why does society almost universally accept round earth theory? It is as plain as the observably Flat horizon that Earth is not round, and yet everyone continues to believe otherwise. Most do not even understand what "gravity" is, and yet they use "cuz gravity" as some sort of solve-all explanation; an invincible proof that the world is round. To Planar Theorists such as myself this is extremely laughable: not even "scientists" themselves understand what gravity is. Ever since Newton the explanation as to why mass exerts a "pull" continues to elude explanation. This and a dozen other flaws in the spherist conception of the universe show how inherently flawed the round earth view really is.
So I wonder: why do so many believe misinformation? Why are people convinced because some dude with a nice voice narrates an hour long special on the Discovery channel? Is Morgan Freemam really all it takes to convince people of completely unverified ideas?
I am genuinely curious: how does it feel to believe in bogus round earth theories?

1 ReplyAlso people are spending wayyy to much time overthinking ways to prove you wrong, when all they need to do is say "just walk in a straight line." How come if I were to move forwards in a perfectly straight line, I would eventually return to my starting location??

Pretty good considering flat earth theories make no sense... You obviously have not been high enough in the sky to see the curvature of the earth.

1 ReplyYou should know above all others that ignorance is bliss...

2 RepliesStupid people with little understanding will believe anything. That's why we still have religion.

2 RepliesBeen waiting awhile for you to come back so I could use this.

The world is a pyramid, get it right.

1 ReplyWell the larger the mass of an object the more "pull" it has, if the earth was round it would have a gravity that "pulls" stuff toward its centre (down), if it was flat there would be no centre, stuff would just fly to the right or left depending on where you were.
Im no scientist so I may be wrong on this
How does it feel to keep on living without a brain? Do you regulate all your body's functions conscientiously? Is that why there's no room for anythying else on your USB?

1 ReplyEdited by Kain0: 5/24/2017 8:42:53 PMIt's not something I think about regularly, it makes no difference to my life what shape the world is. If it is flat, why would "they" tell us it's round? What's to gain from it? Honest question, I have no idea so feel free to enlighten me. Anyone?
Is Morgan Freemam really all it takes to convince people of completely unverified ideas?
Yep, but round earth isn't an unverified idea. It was verified hundreds of years ago.

5 RepliesSo how come the constellations orbit the planet?
I'm sorry but debunking your crap is easy
4 RepliesA theory is a fact proven correct multiple times, you have presented a hypothesis, an educated guess based on your (obviously not well evaluated) observations. If you even want me to consider this true for even a microsecond, you need to use knowledge taught in 6th grade. Good luck convincing amyone with that uneducated use of words.

3 RepliesMakes me feel like a well rounded individual. As if my circle of knowledge is all encompassing. It's kinda nice knowing that my picture of the world if full and complete, and won't fall flat of expectations.
Enough puns?
I seriously don't understand the Flat Earth joke. Like what started this nonsense

If the earth was flat, low earth orbits would not work, for the fact that when you are constantly falling sideways fast enough to miss the earth at 100 km up around a 24,000 mile wide plate would end, badly, plus, explain why it is night in aisia, yet day in america (not just the USA, the continent)
