If the Next Patch Only Nerfs Sidearm Ammo..
That would be ridiculous.
Having no special on death/respawn destroys this game for me.
Spare me the "use your primary" speech. I'll use my primary when it's viable. I don't want to keep pot shotting people with primaries, using Icebreaker, using wormwood...no. I want to kill people with any gun in the game that I choose to use.
I used to do pve activities to get guns to use in pvp. They were mostly special, with the occasional good primary. Now I have little reason to replay the same content for a reward I'll never be able to use in crucible.
I'm not going to spawn in and camp a special box, hope that my teammates haven't already pulled it, go running around for special when there's an enemy who just pulled shotgun ammo or has a wormwood...no. ESPECIALLY not on these maps. And I'm certainly not going to use anything other than an Icebreaker in trials, because everyone else will be using one and I'm at a disadvantage with no special on spawn...
If this next patch only changed Sidearm ammo...I'm done with pvp in Destiny as we know it. Spare me the "good get off the forums" speech. I've heard it all and I don't care.
Oh yeah, and fix blink radar ffs. Wtf is this anyway.

All they needed to do was leave special the hell alone and buff each primary archetype that would have made them viable. Also increase cooldowns on grenades. Get killed more by grenades then actual guns.. I don't understand why they can't figure this out.

All they do is cause loophole issues for whenever Bungie tries to adjust the special ammo economy. Thankfully Destiny 2 is fresh start so these weapons won't be carried forward..I hope. EDIT: How good the weapon is doesn't matter. All they do is circumvent the special ammo economy and cause balance issues; power weapons need to be limited and stay in your secondary slot.

The problem wasn't special weapon period. We wanted primary buff, not because they weren't used that much or because special was over used. But because the primaries were inconsistent, especially hand cannons and AR. They did buff those primaries but they took away special weapons and nerfed shotguns some more. I don't know why they did that to special but i might have one answer. They're -blam!-ing retards. If they didnt mention anything about special weapon in the latest hot patch the game would've been in a lot better situation.

Don't be such a crybaby. Sure it's different but how often are you getting killed by specials? Your still getting special ammo but it's balanced no matador kings or ash ravens flight -blam!-. Just simple mostly balanced crucible.

That's why I'm only doing playing to get the dawning and sterling packages from now on I might come back for iron banner otherwise I'll be playing mainly overwatch and horizon zero dawn

My kd is up big after losing shotty and using a sidearm. I just don't find it fun. Sidearm kills are easier then shotty kills, even walk away from doubles, more often. I understand what they wanted to do, but they failed. They ruined fusions and shotguns. They killed uni/invective and left ice breaker/nlb strong. The game didnt become a primary fight, it became a hc/sniper meta, using guns that can avoid the ammo nerf. To me, sidearms, are high rof hc, so i throw them in the same category. Now they will nerf nlb and eventually ice breaker. They will nerf sidearm ammo. Then the game will become a subclass ability fight and they will nerf those some more. Got bored with it all. Loving a few other games and will play them until d2. Hopefully bungie learns from their stupid mistakes.

12 RepliesI don't see the big fuss. There's plenty of special ammo to go around now for me. I roll with Extremophile and Queenbreakers' Bow, and every match I've played since the update has been perfectly fine. Everyone is all "I can't stand crucible now the special ammo Nerf made me quit". I like the changes. People don't use special weapons as their primary anymore, but it's still possible to wreak havoc with whatever you like. At least in my experience, it didn't seem that bad.

1 ReplySpecial shouldn't spawn in with you, just have it be ammo crate only I say -- but shot gun meta was fun and annoying at the same time.

I'm ok with a sidearm ammunition nerf. I feel like a panzer division when I use a sidearm right now.
