All I Want is my Emblems in D2
After reading today's post by bungie I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in the news. Most not all guardians don't really care what their characters look like at this point but most if not all would have loved to see their favorite and/or exclusive emblems and shaders get carried over. This news today made me feel that after 2+ years of grinding was for nothing. Love the game just wish they would revisit that idea down the road.

1 ReplyWho knows if emblems will even be a thing in Destiny 2. They said that veteran players will be given things to recognize their accomplishments so whatever form that takes, it'll be something.

They are now parsing words and trying to redefine what Bungie meant by "your progress will 100 percent carry over to the sequel"* But, actions speak louder that words.... So, lets set aside the press quotes and focus on what's happening right now. There are at least four threads and over a thousand posts and walls of text in this forum alone about what should 'carry over' into Destiny 2. So, clearly this expectation was not some kind of fabrication. It started some where and was allowed to continue. So, why then did Bungie find it necessary 'only' yesterday to tell us that "...will not carry forward"*...? They could have clarified any previous statements and corrected any misunderstandings years ago. But, they didn't.... Because, just like "No Man's Sky", Bungie wanted and needed people to buy DLCs. And, they used ambiguities and exploited false expectations to make that happen. Edited by Kilo: 3/6/2017 4:10:33 PMI don't really care that much about emblems and this is coming from someone who has some of the rarest emblems in the game coughsongofspherescough I'd rather have a new style of emblems (like size and layout). It would be nice to have new emblems in D2 that you got based on things you did in D1. They should be hard to get though. There should be one for max grimoire, one for all MoT, one for max grim plus all MoT and participating in all ARGs (Alpha Lupi and owl), etc.

I worked so hard to get the first moments of triumphs emblem. Skolas was one of the hardest things I did. I got it maybe a few weeks before the taken king dropped, and I had never been so happy. When the emblem dropped everyone said it was ugly or some shit but I couldn't have been more excited. I wanted to have something to show after working so hard. I know that bungie said we would be recognized in some way, but I'm gonna be pissed if I don't get that emblem. I worked my ass off for it, and it shows people I was there since the beginning and I conquered the greatest threats year 1 had to offer. I just feel that since emblems are purely cosmetic bungie should let us keep them.

1 ReplyI bought every emblem from the bungie store thinking it's to keep for the full run. Bungie in returns for there gratitude gives me and all players that did the same the middle finger. Never buying from the store again. Lesson learned.

2 RepliesWho honestly cares about emblems? They are shoddy and don't even have lore attached to them. Maybe if they were more interactive and specific to your guardians tale it would matter but they are just pictures with no significance. When I look at folks in the tower or pre/post game in crucible I don't care at all about their emblems. Other than raid completions or trials wins they don't matter. Even then, the amount of carries invalidates any significance those may carry.
