I'm sure some of you have been hearing about how females get higher grades, and are smarter etc.
Well it turns out, that there was a study done which involves making teachers mark anonymous tests, without knowing the gender, and it turns out boys grades go up. Sometimes even as much as 30%

I hooked up with a feminist before. Told her to get a dirty towel out of the hamper to clean her self off with because her mindset is filth anyways. She got mad, but she called the next day.

I'm sure some of you have been hearing about how females get higher grades, and are smarter etc.
Actually, the bell curves of intelligence between the sexes don't support the idea that females are more intelligent. The bell curve for female intelligence shows that most women are of average intelligence. There are very few highly intelligent or very stupid women. The bell curve for male intelligence is broader. There are fewer males of average intelligence. There are relatively higher numbers of very stupid males and very intelligent males. (https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-how-and-why-sex-differences/201101/how-can-there-still-be-sex-difference-even-when-there-is) In fact, males are generally more variable than women.
Since a male can have more offspring than a female--but also has a greater chance of being childless... natural selection favors a slightly more conservative and reliable baby-building process for females and a slightly more ambitious and error-prone process for males.
Nature rolls the dice for providers.

8 RepliesI know in the UK external exams, the ones that matter, are marked anonymously and girls still score higher than boys, so it's not that simple sorry.

I didn't see any solid evidence in that article you posted; mostly it just threw around that 84% of teachers are female and that they actively mark the grades of boys down because they don't like them. You posted a link to a white paper in this thread, but it wouldn't open for me on mobile. Can you provide study details for me? Sample size? Place of the study? How wide of a geographical area it covered? The organization that funded the study? I don't doubt that there are female teachers out there that may not like the younger boys (supposedly girls mature faster so perhaps they are truly better behaved or there are other factors involved with the alleged bias, but that's another discussion), but I don't think there's some massive conspiracy against boys to keep them down in schools. That said, if the study you mentioned found concrete evidence that such a bias does exist I'd like to see it.

Oh boi round two.

3 RepliesAre there really that many women on here to be posting about feminism? Seriously. All these anti-feminist posts on here are stupid. You are not inviting discussion, just a circle jerk of trolls. Go on tumbler or something. Is that a blog? That link text seems to demonstrate so. Its the second one ive seen this week. Looks like we are going back to blog cite days again.

5 RepliesI don't see how that explains how in naplan and hcs's girls get higher grades. Those tests are marked by a teacher on the other side of the country who don't know the names

Doesn't suprise me.

1 ReplyHmm. Interesting, but I'm not familiar with these sources, so I can't be sure if it's valid or not.
