Don't ever say that Bungie doesn't listen to the community, all those nerfs I listed above are cause by the community, and Bungie listened.
But, Bungie is listening to the wrong side of the community and are balancing the game according to ONLY one game mode, Trials.
They listen to crybabies who whine nerf on forums because X weapon/ability killed them, they should listen to people who know how to play and counter things.
Skorris is a prime example of this, People who complained about it got it nerfed, because they were camping with snipers/shotguns and couldn't push the enemy team and stop them from building supers!
No Land beyond was once the joke exotic and the worst one ever, now it's getting nerfed, because of Trials. Bungie nerfed everything in this game according to Trials and forgot PVE and normal crucible.
Bungie, you're doing it wrong.
This game was much better in Y1, Primaries' TTK was low and they actually countered special weapons, primaries were used more often, until they nerfed every good primary, which led to a sniper/shotgun/sidearm meta which led to a special ammo nerf.
GG Bungie, you -blam!-ed up really bad.
Edit: I know some of you say that Bungie doesn't listen most of the time, that's why I said they're doing it wrong and are listening to the wrong side of the community, that's why the game is becoming worse by time.

Since the core team has left to work of D2, the team we are left with has a very different vision for Destiny and is shaping the game in a very different (and imo worse) way, taking all the fun out of it. Or 2. They never really understood what made their game fun. I feel like the perfect example of this is getting rid of elemental primaries. They saw everyone using them all the time, and instead of thinking "wow, they really enjoy that" they thought "wow, they must feel like they HAVE to do that". Which is...well it's just stupid, but seems like it's Bungie's fundamental philosophy. So either way, all the fun has been stripped from the game. To the point where, by nerfing the way the guns FEEL, they have made the grave error of tainting the ONE thing that kept the game from being a failure: the gun play. But even that is far removed from when it was at its peak of fun.

Dungo listens to NERFS never BUFFS. BUFFS are what the majority of the community has wanted. ALWAYS wanted. Just because a minority starts screaming NERF "XXXX" does NOT qualify as listening to the community. At all. If you don't see this, I'm not sure what more can be said. Was it trials that got ToM nerfed? Nah. It was nerfed so a thoroughly mind-numbing raid wasn't [i]even more[/i] easily completed.

I'm not defending the community, I'm saying that you are way off base and outta line to make such unfounded accusations and also try and excuse Bungie for their actions you moron.

I agree. Bungie has shown they listen, but they're only listening to a minority part of the community. That minority part being: streaming players that play trials. And the game shouldnt be balanced around trials because it's not a pvp only game.

3 RepliesThe real issue is bungie listens, but very rarely. For 6 months all the forums have been are "nerf shotguns" "buff hand cannons" "actually do something" and when bungie finally does that, side arms and NLB are being nerfed after a week because of bungie actions. It's not bungie that doesn't listen, it's the community that doesn't have logic. When blade dancers were needed with shotguns, no one thought of how with shotguns gone, there are not many counters to blade dancers. With that, the community wasn't thinking and immediately boarded the blame bungie train. Tl;dr: Bungie listens, but the community doesn't think, which causes issues and arguments all around.

Why don't we just get Bungie nerf everything so they stop complaining? Make PvP TTK 100000000000 seconds. *Goes and rages about triple jumping hunters with Wormwoods spamming everywhere but doesn't ask for them to get nerfed because he knows that this is the best state PvP in Destiny will probably ever be again* I honestly have lost all hope that this game will actually be balanced AND fun anymore...

Streamers help with the whole "Nerf this and this and this" aspect, and the smart people have already jumped ship from this imploding community and game. However, the devout few have taken to ignoring how shit this game is becoming and play on regardless of how whiny the community gets. Honestly, I wish Bungie ignored the community like most other major game developers. Destiny would be a better game in the long run for it.

I feel like they only listen to streamers. When I read "this week at bungie" it sounds like they literally are doing everything truvanguard talked about in the black shield video last week!

1 ReplyI thought it was to appeal to tier one folks and gather data for Destiny 2 so it can be an mlg/championship game. Maybe they try it with not the most representative of test gamers. I feel average in that I do well some games and don't others and it comes out 50/50. I have lost 9 or 10 in a row in ib before and was the highest scorer on both sides a couple of those. So I decided to take a break and did test weapons for gunsmith went back to ib and did horrible personally but won 6 in a row. I with one meta exception (thorn) can't remember a time I was ever destroyed by meta lol last ib I didn't get killed by a matador except for one guardian a couple of matches(tons of saladins vigil and a pair of guys spraying telesto). Didn't get hit by the clever dragon much either.

It's all shitty little crucible babies trying to improve their game (by decreasing others) The population of trials is very low compared to what it used to be. So don't go bitching about the top 1% because they aren't the problem.

I'm noticing now that it's abilities that seem overpowered. How can that be? In year 1, weapons were so strong that grenades and melees were an afterthought. Now everything is in such a weakened state longer cool downs feel needed. That's ridiculous to me
