Where the nerfing began
Ladies and gents, I've finally found the origin point for Bungie's nerf-happy crusade. The answer was in front of me the whole time inside the first update patch notes (1.0.1):

Well this got more attention than I ever did as a child.
I honestly just got bored and had a spare moment on my lunch break, so I decided to try and find the first patch notes just to see how far this game has come. When I read about the windmill nerf, I puffed a little bit of air through my nostrils in a contemptuous chuckle, so I thought it might be worth sharing with the rest of the Destiny community.
In all seriousness though, wouldn't it be great if we could just go back to having fun in this game? To me it feels like we made the same transition as peewee sports. It used to be played just for kicks and giggles, but now it's about listening and catering to the parent who screams the loudest at the refs. That's just this filthy casual's thoughts though, so take it with a grain of your favorite form of salt. (I prefer either the salt of the sea or basement-dwelling neckbearded trolls personally.)

8 RepliesBack then hunters were the 1%s in crucible titans and warlocks were still good, i missed shoulder charging ppl out of their supers I missed blinking with my hunter I missed self rezzing after getting killed by a guy in the cabal tank then stick his ass with nades...good times back when destiny was fun. When pve players were the shit but pvp was still fun..when nightfalls were hard and rewarding .when you get ur self a gally and ur happy as hell...year 1 was crazy but it was fun ^_^

I discovered Scout Rifles in the Beta and I thought they were brilliant. Day 1 Destiny they were mediocre. A few weeks down the line Bungie had the nerve to ask why everyone was using an Auto Rifle and no one was using Scout Rifles.

5 RepliesI blame it on the sweaties. The casual, in my opinion and experience, does little bitching when a weapon or tactic is deemed OP. They simply grab it and use to it survive the sweaty onslaught. The sweaty though, sees this and says, "how dare you compete and kill me as I blink, ninja smoke, and slide away." Fun is the key word here, this game stops being fun more often than not now because of all the whiners. Some of us take ourselves a little too seriously when it comes to this game. I love it, enjoy the hell out of it and will continue to play it even if all that is left are rocks to throw at each other. At the end of the day, all it is, is the orchestrated movements of tiny joysticks. Or, I could be just talking out of my a hole and am making no sense at all, but maybe, just maybe there a shred of truth here. I don't know.
