Why can't we go in there and bomb the shit out of ISIS and kill them all???

Im the first to fight for human rights and stand against trump but when he won I was glad atleast that ISIS would come to an end and how he promised he would bomb the shit out of them but I still see no intentions of him to do anything. He had one operation so far and it was a failure. Now no matter where you stand liberal or conservative we want these bastards dead and sent to hell for the shit they have done. Why is it so hard for our government to just go in there and kill them all? Of course its easier said then done but as the most powerful in both military and economy why can't we just kill them already? They don't deserve any human rights for the shit they have done. What are your thoughts on how our country should deal with them?

  • This is pretty damn idiotic and representative of why the Middle East is so messed up right now. ISIS have millions of civilians in their stronghold cities of Raqqa and Mosul. Millions of human shields. You bomb them, their blood is on your hands. You take over the city with as little force as possible, you can save lives. US interventionist policies caused ISIS to appear in the first place and killing millions in the Middle East would cause another terror group to pop up as a result. It would make the situation far worse.

  • Isis uses urban guerrilla tactics, hiding in crowds, ied ambushes, takes hostages ect. The civilian death at allied hands would be huge. We fight them because they shoot up crowds. Shooting up a crowd ourselves wouldn't help that

    • Because "bombing the $#!*" out of them isn't going to solve anything. The idea of radical Islam still exists and it is extremely difficult to kill an idea. When you destroy something as evil as ISIS, another even worse group will appear to fill the void. It's a never ending cycle. Bombing ISIS into oblivion will kill civilians. Family members of those civilians will look at the U.S. as the real terrorists and join ISIS or form another group if ISIS is destroyed. So, while Trump talks a big game, what he wants to do is far more intricate and difficult than simply "bombing the $#!*" out of them. You have to destroy the very idea of radical Islam. Don't give the terrorists reason to bomb us in the first place. And what does Orange Man do his first couple weeks in office? Give ISIS reason to attack the U.S.

      • Well it's not as if all of ISIS is in one central place they are spread all over multiple countries... And even if we kill all of "ISIS" another group will just pop up... There have been al qaeda-ish groups for an extremely long time... We are not going to get rid of all terrorist groups just by killing all of ISIS...

      • Russia's in charge in Syria now, so its really too late for the US to take control of the situation without potentially seriously escalating tensions between them and Russia. As for Iraq it would be political suicide to send troops back there, and the Iraqi army and the Kurds fighting there are doing pretty well. IS as it is at the moment probably won't last that much longer, but then it'll probably just change its name and take up in Africa where it will be even harder to fight them.

      • ISIS is nothing more than a group of heretics. They bombed ancient Muslim ruins.

      • He can't cause there are innocent civilians where they are located. Think of the innocent lives that would be lost.

Even if you don't care about collateral damage, think of it this way. Our last occupation in Iraq did not prevent isis from taking many territories there. If we are to just bomb those isis held cities without a good plan on what to do afterwards, we'd end up with an even more destabilized region making it ripe for another radical group to just take over. And it would be likely that they would also hate America due to many of their friends and families being killed by the bombing and power vacuum afterwards. As much as I would love for isis to be wiped out through one sweeping operation, this just isn't how we get rid of entire terrorist groups While it would definitely kill many of them, several of those rats will just find another hiding place to scurry to.

      • I agree. While it may kill some civilians, every war does, and far less will die if we just bomb them right now.

        • Treat others the way you want to be treated is a fair point.
That is a joke, no ban please.
But I highly advise that we don't because instead of the French Revolution it will be the American Revolution.

        • Here's another question why won't the Syrians help us fight isis, they are just running away. They did not even try. Did America run away from Britain during the revolution? Did the french run away during there revolution? What if Gandhi or mlk had ran away? I understand that the Syrians are just civilians but every revolution/person I listed above was lead by/was a civilian. They did not run away. I can understand the Syrians asking for help but i think it is bs that they won't even try to solve their own problem.
touch me bby
We could do that but that would just make the situation worse.

          • Here's the bigger problem. Perception. If we do that, then we basically mark ourselves as remorseless psychopaths, who willingly kill civilians and break EVERY law of war that was ever made. We lose the backing of the UN, if not outright incite war. Every single Muslim in the rest of the world would bay for our blood, so lone-wolf attacks and internal threats would increase. Basically, we'd go from a small scale problem to the entire world gunning for us.

Really the only reason we found out about that one operation is because it turned into a giant cluster -blam!- destroying most of the town. Their foreign minister even made an angry tweet about it. I bet if it didn't turn into a spectacular failure and was pulled off we probably wouldn't have heard about it. And bombing the shit out of people doesn't do anything but cause more hatred and drive more people to their cause after their family was killed and brushed off as collateral damage.

          • Given where they set up shop we'd be killing more innocents then We would them also brute force clearly hasn't worked yet if we took them out someone worse could take over.

            • You have half of the solution. War with ISIS is a realistic future action. We need to stay behind and build up this shattered region though, or else we leave a power vacuum and some new group of violent nutjobs will fill it. It will take a long time, and come at exorbitant expense, but its necessary. And hopefully will dispel the image of the western nations as being evil warmongers.
