I must be the most casual casual in Destiny.
There's quite a lot I've never done in Destiny.
Haven't run WOTM.
Didn't do Kings Fall on hard mode.
Never been to the lighthouse.
Haven't got the dark spindle or sleeper simulant. Not got the exotic Khvostov. Never got the Jade Rabbit from an engram.
I've never beaten Skolas.
I've run a lot of strikes, done thousands of bounties, run hundreds of patrols and occasionally dip my toe in the PvP battleground of iron banner. And I'm a regular visitor to Archons Forge.
And people will tell me I lack ambition. That I'm not playing the game right. That I'm missing out.
Perhaps I am.
But when I've had a tough day at work I just want to shoot some stuff, run around, see if an engram drops but basically just chill.
I can't find the right clan to do the end game stuff although I have tried so I'm just taking things casual.
And if I'm having some fun and the games still keeping me interested, isn't that enough ?

This is how I played-I'm taking a break at the moment-just doing whatever I could do to have fun, not worrying about raiding or Trials and only doing Iron Banner in PVP since, well, I suck at it. I spent five years as a hair on fire, go go go progression raider in WoW, and I quit because the game stopped being fun. There is nothing wrong with any approach to Destiny so long as you're having fun doing it-okay, I suppose if your idea of fun is doing things to troll people, maybe not. But if you don't raid or do Trials, well, so what? You paid for the game, get your money's worth how you want.

1 ReplyAgree. I take a mental dump by shooting stuff. There is primal satisfaction in doing that. You dont need a high K/D, a special emblem or weapon. Enjoy.

It's not atypical. I had been playing for nearly 2000 hours before I finally got hooked up with a raid group and was able to do things like KF and WotM. I finally did both, and enjoyed them immensely, and hope to do them again. Still haven't killed Skolas though. Maybe I just like the idea of him rotting in the Prison of Elders better. They could give him Gulrot as a cellmate.

Dude I'm occasionally playing Destiny nowadays on a Legacy console and without Gold too, all I can do is patrol and help out on the dreadnought. . Honestly can't see me buying rise of Iron either, I may get a Xbox Scorpio (should have some kind of reveal at E3 2017) Looking around to buy a PS4 Pro as consoles are hard to find at the moment but I'll be damned if anyone thinks I'm re-buying Destiny for the PS4 Pro that's just wayyyyyyy to much grinding for me. I will out of the corner of my eye look to see what is going to happen with Destiny 2 but thing's are not looking good between Bungie and those people they sold their souls too.

sounds to me like your playing the game how it was intended. You get on, shoot stuff and have fun while doing it, and you don't stress about the stuff that doesn't dictate how you play anyways. I have only done half of WOTM on normal, never stepped foot inside TTK, wouldn't even know where to find archon forge, and am missing all exotic swords on top of the exotics your missing. I have a friend's list full of people who do random things and are more than willing to help me get through that stuff but I just really enjoy playing crucible. I have played since a month into launch and even if people think these forums are toxic, this game is trash, that there is nothing to do, I still enjoy all the time I spend on here. Just have fun doing you 👍

3 RepliesYeah bungie made a few of those thing very hard to get for casual players. With a few of those weapons and game modes its like you'd have to have been there when it released because it gets old fast and players move on too the next thing. Sometimes I feel bad for yr2 players, because they missed so much and get trolled when they ask for help. And its not just our fault, its bungie design flaws. Like the WoTm exotic(raid exotics in general). How many new players are able to get it, or sleeper? There should have been a solo alt quest for exotics.
