I must be the most casual casual in Destiny.
There's quite a lot I've never done in Destiny.
Haven't run WOTM.
Didn't do Kings Fall on hard mode.
Never been to the lighthouse.
Haven't got the dark spindle or sleeper simulant. Not got the exotic Khvostov. Never got the Jade Rabbit from an engram.
I've never beaten Skolas.
I've run a lot of strikes, done thousands of bounties, run hundreds of patrols and occasionally dip my toe in the PvP battleground of iron banner. And I'm a regular visitor to Archons Forge.
And people will tell me I lack ambition. That I'm not playing the game right. That I'm missing out.
Perhaps I am.
But when I've had a tough day at work I just want to shoot some stuff, run around, see if an engram drops but basically just chill.
I can't find the right clan to do the end game stuff although I have tried so I'm just taking things casual.
And if I'm having some fun and the games still keeping me interested, isn't that enough ?

1 ReplyI think there are many of us who play as best we can. I'm even older, have arthritis in my thumbs which makes it a chore sometimes. Folks get frustrated with me, and I've been abandoned mid-play more than a few times. Been told to "get gud" more than once..........I play mostly to have fun and pass the time, as I've been retired for a bit. I've never done any PvP, other than an Iron Banner or two. I just slog along doing strikes, the forge and stuff and all of the solo things I can find to do. I've managed to make it thru part of WotM, where I got booted during Axsis part 1. Would love to do more team stuff, but I've not been all that successful getting folks together. I'm not at all complaining, just gets boring grinding thru the same old stuff over and over and over. I've managed 390 on my Titan, none the less, and will keep on keeping on.

1 ReplyBeen playing this game since october 2014 and I've never done vog, only did crota 3x(never started at the beginning), havent done trials, dont have sleeper or black spindle, never did nightfall until after thorn nerf, never did skolas, never did oryx, haven't(never) done Wrath of machine... is that casual enough?

I know theres a glitch to go back to year 2 vendor weapons, I tried doing it yesterday, I have the vanilla destiny disc and I'm on xbox one but every time I uninstalled rise of iron my game acted as if i still have it installed, any solutions?

2 RepliesHaving fun is what's important! Ill admit I was super casual for awhile. Towards end of Kings fall I decided to do more and having fun doing it. Found a great group of guys to play with that are casual but they get tasks done. Too bad your on PlayStation, but it looks like with all the friends requests you might have luck finding that group that works great for you.

2 RepliesI have another player I communicate with in the UK. We don't hook up that often due to network issues at UK end. And like you I lose players after they say they will help. I have one player in Indiana that has stayed with me. Great player. I have the skeleton keys but need players for Titan and Hunter for Thorn.

1 ReplyI'm in the same boat man, but I'm on XB1. I mostly play Strikes, Patrol, Archon's Forge, and some PvP. I played with 5-6 friends in Y1 but they all dropped right before TTK and have no interest in playing again. I raided a decent amount in Y1 but Kings Fall takes soooo long to get through when you play with an LFG group, and I've never played WotM because everytime I look on LFG people are so unwelcoming. Every single post wants someone who is max light, knows what they are doing or the will be dropped, and most of the time people only want to play hard mode. I barely ever see groups want to play normal mode. Oh and i've never played ToO. But yeah i still play the game because its a ton of fun. The gameplay is fantastic and sometimes running through Patrol or Strikes and wreaking shit at the end of a long day is enough entertainment for me. It's all about your experience, and if you're still having a great time then thats all that matters.

1 ReplyIf you haven't already check out the lfg site the100.io , that's my go to site for nightfalls. The one and only time I completed wotm was through there. I hate talking to randoms so all of my time in destiny is solo.

Still love the game though. Glad I've got still got plenty of non endgame stuff to keep me occupied

3 RepliesYou sound like me. And tbh the only way I'd play the other activities is if they put in optional matchmaking. I've done all Destiny activities lfg and hate it everytime. I'm good now with just laying back after work and doing missions, patrol, strikes.

I like Archon's Forge and Iron Banner. Play some Crucible, but goody drops are very limited. I do have a few players that hook up with me. My Hunter and Titan are nearly ready for the Thorn. I had help but did get the Sleeper Simulant and Black Spindle. Never been to Lighthouse, whatever that is. My age - retired - is such I can just have fun. Need to add my Titan has the Khvostov. But only my Titan. Edit 2: My Warlock has the Thorn.

If you have a stagnant clan or base of friends to play with, shoot me a message. GT: MetaLegionnaire I don't mind playing with any player types or ages, as long as having a good time is the endgoal. 1 ReplyIt's just a game, play how you want and don't bother yourself with how others choose to enjoy it. I skip most raids because I just don't have that much time in a sitting and I skip Trials because that just sounds like an exercise in frustration.

1 ReplyI'm the same, except I do have Sleeper Simulant. But I don't have any exotic swords or Touch of Malice or Outbreak Prime and I've only ever had two pieces of raid gear from the single raid run I've done, which I've long since gotten rid of. I blame the game for this, honestly, with so many group activities, but a complete lack of any support for it. And the community isn't that much better, not when 90% of groups are "must have this and this and this" but you have to do that activity to get them, which you can't do because you don't have them, so you may as well not do it at all.
