This isn't what we wanted

OK I know people wanted specials nerfed and primaries buffed but of course you take the easy way out and take away ammo but that doesn't solve our problem it only creates more.what the destiny community was hoping for was a slight decrease it shotgun damage and/or range so we don't turn a corner and die or unload half a clip from a primary and them slid in are dms and die, for fusion rifles it was fine except for a few stat changes here or there (depending on what fusion rifle it is) and for snipers all that needs done is to take off the aim assist and fix all the quick scoping nonsense( seriously come on this isn't cod ) and primaries do need to do a bit more damage like auto rifles you can put a 30 bullet clip and get killed by a special weapon, although I personally think the special ammo effect would be better if you took a round away for each death instead of all of it. So for now I'm going to stay out of crucible for awhile until something gets worked out because I can hear the stampede of guardians going for their palindromes and clever dragons, and I do hope bungie will pull through and realize their mistake Cuz destiny is a great game and I enjoy playing it with my friends but lately both those statements are questionable since the last few hot fixes.

  • It's not what I wanted but, it's a fresh change to the game. You can still very easily use a shotgun, fusion, and sniper. The special ammo spawns constantly.

        • I admit it. I'm the shotgun toting titan that you hate in crucible. But no more using special weapon in crucible for aggressive players like me. Aggressive players die more often. Taking their special ammo hurts them. Shotguns and fusion rifles are now worthless in crucible, as is armor that let's you carry more. Looks like Bungie wants everyone to be a hand cannon toting hunter.

          • What the he'll happened to Bungie's mind when they made this patch. There are so many glitches that came with this patch, that it's decaying Destiny awesomeness to the ground. I just don't understand how Bungie nerd things to shit and so call buff stuff like auto rifles, which they still suck.

            • Umm I'm getting used to it. I love NLB sidearm already so it's not much of a change for me. This is what y'all wanted. Now we get to hear ppl complain about NLB until Destiny 2 probably. Good job guys, this is what u get when u nerf snipers too much and do whatever they did to shotguns. NLB meta. I love it lol

            • Actually, I'm getting a big laugh with all the complainers over this patch. The big mouth whiners demanded nerfs for this and nerfs for that. Well, be careful what you ask for. There's a reason why I NEVER ask for nerfs. Bungie tends to overreact when listening to the Destiny Whiner Platoon. So, to the players who were whining before and whining now, this is me laughing at you. LMAO!!!!

            • Honestly, if you read the forums regularly, this is very near to exactly what the majority wanted. And honestly, special is still extremely plentiful, once people realize that you'll see previous styles of gameplay return.

Honestly, they should have left the two 'special primaries' back in year one. Yes, I'm talking about NLB and UR. These two weapons are way op and honestly if your gonna take away special ammo on death then do something about these two weapons as well. On top of this, why do designers get it in their heads to just go way off on a tangent thought for patches to "make the game more fun for more people"? Stop. Just stop. It was a great thing you did with hand cannons but then you took it into left field. I have yet to see damage drop off for other fire arms as great as hand cannons. I would have been fine if they gave us the year one accuracy with a trade off of -10 to base range, but then they had to take it a step further and practically re-kill the hand cannons. If they just stay on the course of the fan base, they will get to a balanced and thriving game much sooner than "nearly to the sequel and still the game is dying or dead". Here's a look at exactly what we wanted: 1. Eliminate high cal rounds from ALL pulse rifles (like you did with Grasp of Malok, that did a better job of fixing flinch and balancing the weapon than a nerf to rate of fire and eliminating flinch almost completely) 2. Reduction to effective range of shotguns with rangefinder (i.e. increase shot spread by 10% at max range instead of rangefinder act like shot package from year one, get your note pad bungie) 3. Warlock melee (which they did nicely but then decided to make an absolutely obsolete nerf to landfall with effects PVE more than PVP, ionic blink would have been the ideal choice if you were going after a PVP nerf, nice going bungie *insert slow clap emote*) 4. Get rid of ghost rounds on hand cannons (which they then double nerfed hand cannons to just about re-kill them with the inclusion of their loss of special on death which if you intend to use a hand cannon now your either gonna have to be really aggresive, which has never worked and never will with hand cannons, or your camping special creates and being a sitting duck to be carried or, you guessed it, get sniped by icebreaker from behind a wall or supered into oblivion. And just for the sake of asking bungie this, if your going to revert hand cannons back to year one accuracy then why'd you change it in the first place? Why make accuracy RNG based with a hidden mechanic at the beginning of year 2?) 5. Loot drops in PVP. (Jack squat on that) 6. Stable game connections throughout. (dido last smart comment) 7. A change to special ammo that was similar to heavy ammo upon death (could have been a lot more effective by slowly chipping away at special ammo until none remained in inventory in non-elimination type game modes) I used to be hyped for this patch but then when I got to look at it first hand.... This is'nt Destiny any more. I can't wait to see what kind of cringe fest Trials is gonna be this week. Deej probably thinking, "We did a good thing with this patch." Nope, ya didn't. In fact, maybe if you followed the exact wishes of the fan base instead of trying to pose useless and unnecessary tweaks (i.e. nerf to blade dancer, yet again) to the game people wouldn't be calling it a dead game. But what do I know? I mean I'm just a guy that experienced the rise and fall of CoD, the reign of Halo, the fatal flaws of The Division and many other games (and possibly Destiny, too), and a year one veteran who's invested a good amount of time, effort, energy, mental strength and fortitude into trying to get good so I can get the best weapons I can get just so I can have half a snowball's chance in hell of doing good in the crucible. It feels like with all the new changes, we are at a parallel but negatized outcome of year one, pre house of wolves dlc crucible.

Actually it is, you PvP gamers wanted "diversity" and you got it. The problem is, you didn't get what "you" wanted and now most of you are upset about it. This game wasn't just made for PvP gamers. As soon as you get this and stop asking for "diversity" knowing Bungie loves to nerf the hell out of this game, the better off everyone will be. Because the truth is, you are asking a company to do something they are incapable of doing. So all of you are as much at fault as Bungie knowing this is a company that went from set weapons to, letting everything and their mother to be allowed in crucible.

                      • Or if you make it like supremacy. When you kill an opponent you can scoop up their ammo. However, reversing this horrible nerf would be the best solution. Crucible just isn't fun anymore. It was the last part of destiny that was.

                        • Hopefully in destiny 2 if weapons or abilities are too good let them be what they are and ask for buffs to the stuff that need them instead. Yes it's refreshing to not constantly have specials shoved up our asses but some of our primaries haven't exactly got the buffs they deserve. There's still weapons that only a few will use. I think all weapon archetypes should be meta but some weapons in the archetypes are stronger than others and should compete with stronger weapons in other archetypes. It is not the case with this patch. Yes high impact autos are in a better spot but lower impact autos have been untouched. Red death archetype pulses are still untouched. It's nice to see hand cannons have their year 1 initial accuracy back but they aren't exactly where they need to be in my opinion. Hand cannons should go back to year 1 with better changes to hawkmoon, thorn, and tlw. They were the only hand cannons that were OP.

                          • Two periods. Two periods in that massive block. Learn to space your thoughts. Makes it easier for the audience to get what you're saying. On the another note, I do get what you're saying. Unfortunately the only way to limit special weapon use is to restrict player ability to retain ammo, without drastically increasing the lethality of primary weapons. Unless major inventory/load-out changes are made then this is how most likely how Crucible will play out for the remainder of its time.

                              • How would you reduce the use of single shot kill weapons like snipers and shotguns, then? Buff primaries until they have a time to kill that competes with a single shot kill? Make it so those weapons can no longer single shot kill? Limit the amount of shots, so they still have to spend most of their time running with primaries? Or something else? How would YOU fix it?
