My badass feeling was during the Croats End raid when the music would come on when the sword bearer would tell everyone to "take him down" and you'd shoot your rockets.
Pretty amazing feeling

Clutched Crota in year 1 when our sword guy died. Jumped over to the sword while shooting crota which downed him. Got the last hit just as i dieded. Wish i had recorded it.

Edited by Misterhon: 2/14/2017 3:55:54 PMCompleting crota's end hard mode for the first time and everyone died in the thrall pit. Last guardian standing to make it through the end with everyone else screaming in my headset..... This got the heart pumping and was franticly looking for the second ogre i thought was gonna spawn at the end.

Only VOG

Probably either two-manning Skolas with my cousin or soloing Crota for the first time
-
I think the one that stands out for me was the opening of Crota back in the day when I went on with an lfg group and about halfway through the abyss I'm the last guardian standing. With the help of some sneaky Bladedancer crap, I get us through to the bridge to the delight of the rest of the team.

There were a few. A first Vault completion in year one. Being underleveled and overwhelmed and finally beating the damn thing. It was exhausting and epic. Skolas. Dear. God. Skolas. PoE was a ball of suck, and it was made worse by the fact that there were no checkpoints and people couldn't join you at the boss. After they took away burns, the Skolas boss fight is still the toughest fxcking thing I've ever done in Destiny. Poor bastard should have gotten a proper raid. Solo Crota. This raid was such a disappointment to me in year one that I only ran it a few times. Hated it. But doing it solo actually feels great. The "new subclass" mission at the beginning of TTK. While it's a story mission, which means the enemies are braindead easy cannon fodder, it felt, really satisfying to pick up the new subclass and wreck with it after a year of using the same two. Nightfalls in year one. Man there was so much more on the line back then. The strike had to be carefully, surgically completed. Depending on the strike it could be a good week or a stressful one. Icebreaker was always there for me. Got my first exotic out of a nightfall. We were underleveled as hell. It's nailbiting being the last one alive knowing that a stupid move on your behalf sends your team packing back to orbit. The Gally mission in RoI, but only solo. It's just fun as hell, and really demonstrates the power of this Epic ass weapon. Ironically tho, this weapon being made a quest took the excitement away from it. Grown men no longer scream and cry when they get the rarest weapons. They just post on LFG for help with the quest. (Sigh). Clutching a raid. Raids have gotten predictable. But it's kinda epic when like, 2 or 3 dudes go down and the others are left to make adjustments and really hustle. Like 3 of us clutched Aksis phase 2 in the last round when he had just a lil health left. One dude had two cannons in the middle, and the other two of use were skating all over the place with bombs. Still slammed him every empowerment, still nailed every plate for challenge. It was pretty epic feeling to pull that off. Same with Oryx or Atheon. The Lighthouse. I assume. I've never been there. Meh. Seeing Rhandel the Perfected in the server farm. Now if only I could find Greg the Dreg, Hank the Shank, and Hackman the Captain.

1 ReplyEdited by FutureWarPunk: 2/13/2017 11:18:25 PMMine has to be clutching the Templar in the Vault of Glass. This was back when the maximum level was 34. I ran a sherpa with two friends and three randoms so it was a cluster -blam!- of just instructions and trying to stay alive. We were doing fine up until we got mobbed by enemies. I knew we had to finish the boss off quick or we'd start dying one by one. So in a last ditch attempt to just cause as much damage possible, I prevented the Templar from teleporting which caused more enemies to come out. Rocket launchers were being spammed, Guardians started dying, desperation lightning grenades are being thrown at this point. The screen is starting to go black and as we're all about to die, I jump up towards him and just unleash a Fist of Havoc. It was enough to kill the Templar but killed all of us in the process. The music plays just before accepting defeat and we all get revived. At this point we're cheering, receiving our rewards and I'm just feeling like a total badass for pulling us through.
Proceeds to get ascendant shards.
I was doing vog hard mode when max light cap was still at 30 and everyone died with the Templar still at half health. I solod the last half of the Templars health with my entire team cheering me on and the people that weren't already on my friends list addede as soon as I killed him. The first week crotas end was out I volunteered to be sword bearer for my raid team (back when no one wanted to sword bear). After going at the crotas fight for like 6 hours we get him down to the last bit of health and his enrage triggers. I still have the sword and crota starts moving and my team starts calling out to wipe. Then I'm like naw guys we got this and I am screaming at them to down crota one more time but only like 2 people are listening. They somehow get him down and I fly across the map with the sword and smash crota and lol him, the sword disappears literally right as I kill him. The screaming that ensued afterwards shook my house haha.

Soloing at level 30 Templar after the whole team died and a few times just for fun. Aetheon solo on my Titan Hunter and Warlock. Yes all were cheese kills by using self rez to negate being teleported or jumping out of the map so you can't die from oracles or get teleported but still a solo. Solo at level 32 and 34 Crota's End normal and Hard on Hunter Titan and Warlock Solo Skolas on Warlock cause the SelfRez crutch mechanic is broken lol. Level 40 well to be honest haven't even bothered attempting Oryx or Vosik or Aksis. Though I'm sure I probably could if I put some time into it. On normal at the very least. Warpriest isn't possible Golgorath I'm pretty sure isn't possible. Daughters isn't possible. Seige engine I'm pretty sure isn't possible. .... Soloed Challenge of Elders numerous times. Lost count of how many Nightfall I've soloed since year 1. I guess I'm saying I've had many "feel like a badass" moments from this game but for me they mostly come from my achievement of soloing things. Very few Moments like that have happened in groups but that isn't neglecting the First completions of Raids or Killing a certain raid boss for the first time. But hey let's be honest that's always a feel good hell yeah moment

Edited by Teostra911: 2/14/2017 1:17:05 AMOne time I was playing elimination on drifter. So I went down, and it was a 1 v 3 against my teammate. my teammate ran and revived me. while I was reviving my friend traded with a shotgun. So it was now a 1 v 2 with me by myself. We'll the two guys rushed me with shotguns while I was still in the revive animation. Well I got out of the animation just before they got to me, and I drew my chaperone and fired off two rapid headshots in under 1 second killing them both. I won the match with that clutch. Felt like a gunslinger. I got so much hate for it.

The first and only time my friends and i actually tried at Trials. At 5-0 they both go down on the point match for game 6, i pop golden gun and take out all 3 on enemy team. Sunsinger revives and i Fourth Horseman him back into a shallow grave. I'm terrible at PvP, so i never felt more badass

Every single time I throw a shatter nova bomb.

Edited by Ken Rocker: 2/13/2017 11:37:02 PMWe ran out of medals Phantom Reaper Unbroken First time I ran sword on Crota successfully

Everything in y1 besides HoW, and some parts of kings fall. Only time i felt badass in RoI is when i got OP.

Hitting the delete button

Getting and using the OG Vex Mythoclast in crucible. Beautiful times with that OP gun.

Getting Black Spindle with 2 randoms that didn't have a mic. Killing skolas for the first time. Man did he put up a fight. The hours and hours spent then having to get off and not being able to finish him. Post on the forums that you are at skolas need 1 or 2 and the messages would flood it. Those were the days
-
1 ReplySolo Crota for flawless raider.
-
0-4 comeback on flawless round. We pretty much gave up but decided to keep going and won it in the end. Great feeling Also, first time completion of wrath of the machine was so awesome as we all run out of heavy and special and scream as we kill aksis with our primaries. "KEEP SHOOTING! KILL HIM!!!" Just so you know i'm a day one player so i've ran everything else too. I just enjoyed these times the most
-
In early year one when after many hours of looking I found some poor fools to run my casual noob ass through VoG for the first time. At the Gorgon chest I got a ghorn and then at Atheon I got an icebreaker. From then on when i would post on lfg I'd immediately get several invites to a knowing damn well I was way less qualified then many of the other people looking just because of my sweet loot.
-
Yep y1 skolas kill, nothing tougher
-
Definetly running sword on crota. Always gives you a rush, and a tear when he glitches and strikes you before he even stands up lol
-
1 ReplyHaven't felt like a badass in destiny for a long time now. I was a badass before they gave us nerf guns instead..... right around ttk release with all those dumb perks too
-
Slamming Crota always got my heart pounding, and my hands would shake afteward. Doing it with the clan, and even soloing it, it always gave me a rush. Loved the music (and the fact that it was a timer for when the sword would disappear). The moment that made me feel badass was when I finally soloed it using a machine gun (I didn't have Gally when I started trying to solo Crota).

Getting vex mythoclast, and completing a nightfall in year 1 when it was actually a challenge.
