The difference between a liberal and conservative brain.

In one study, researchers found that when conservatives hear shocking noise stimuli, such as a blast of white noise, they exhibit more fearful instinctual reactions as measured by blink response, an indicator of amygdala activity. These findings have led some to speculate that larger and more sensitive amygdalae in conservatives may cause them to be more driven by fear and emotional rewards.[/quote]

But what if I have some liberal and some conservative viewpoints does that mean I'm using both of those parts of my brain?

Some people also have a chemical imbalance in their brains that give them a lack of empathy. They just don't care about anyone or anything else. I.e. "reptilian thinking".

Edited by Sturmgeist: 2/11/2017 4:20:36 PMThe meta analysis seems quite biased because it didn't even consider the implications of several of its studies and derived conclusions from multiple studies that had to use corrected statistical criteria in order to evaluate many results as statistically significant. This is probably due to a low sample size for each study, as each individual study seemed like they held a bias from before they were conducted. It's clear this influenced methodology. Low sample sizes and poor methodology is an easy way to get the results you expect, especially when you change your criteria to meet the result you expect. As for implications, one study measured reaction to 'disgust'. Liberals are far less likely to react to disgusting images. What wasn't discussed is that a lower reaction to 'disgust' is highly indicative of ASPD. So, they inadvertently proved that liberals are far more likely to be psychopathic, if one were to follow similar methodological procedures and interpretation if data, as in most of the studies presented. For future reference, it's a much better idea to cite individual studies yourself and create your own analysis. Meta analysis almost always comes from a source of bias because it nearly always fails to include contradictory studies and address them. It takes selected information that meets an evaluator's intent and creates broad stroke conclusions that lack specificity and integrity. edit: Don't forget the risk that someone will actually read your source
