First, let's take a look at the liberal brain. Studies have found that, on average, the brains of liberals have greater volume in a region known as the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC). This area has been linked to several functions, including conflict detection, which enables us to regulate our behavior by identifying discrepancies between instinctual, habit-driven impulses and our actual intentions. So whether you're swerving to dodge a deer that's abruptly run onto the road, or halting before eating that one rotten grape from the fruit bowl, you can thank your ACC for its conflict detection capabilities.
Beyond its greater size, the ACC of the liberal brain also fires more frequently while detecting these differences between instinct and intention. In a political context, this may enable liberals to approach policy issues with greater sensitivity to when their habitual tendencies are ill suited for addressing the issue at hand.
The conservative brain, on the other hand, has greater volume in a region called the amygdala, an almond-shaped structure implicated in emotional and fear-based learning. In one study, researchers found that when conservatives hear shocking noise stimuli, such as a blast of white noise, they exhibit more fearful instinctual reactions as measured by blink response, an indicator of amygdala activity. These findings have led some to speculate that larger and more sensitive amygdalae in conservatives may cause them to be more driven by fear and emotional rewards.
4 RepliesOh c'mon after al the whining & crying the left has done you have the gall to say WE'RE THE EMOTIONAL ONES?! That you're thinking more? There is so much empirical evidence to say otherwise. Liberals whine and protest which causes division in our country

8 RepliesLiberals fight with emotion, conservatives fight with fact.

1 ReplyClearly propaganda if they are insinuating that conservative are the fear based emotional ones.
-
2 RepliesThen why do all the liberals I see cry about Trump being the next Hitler and because of this, riot and protest? Liberals seem to be much more irrational than conservatives.

Calling Trump and his supporters Nazi's and the rise of the Fourth Reich isn't "fearful" ???

1 ReplyYeah yet if I go down into my campus right now I will see someone crying about how Donald trump is going to personally come down and execute all their gay friends and deport anyone that doesn't have white skin. Oh and every rich person is a cartoon villain that are looking for new ways to torture the poor. It's the same shit on both sides dude

3 RepliesFear is the biggest enemy, after all.

Because saying "Trump is Hitler" isn't fear based... but yes conservatives being more religious in general are more susceptible to fear mongering.

4 RepliesI thought more liberals use emotion in their decisions like when I feel bad for the refugees in Syria so I want them to come live with us, that's an emotionally based thought. But what if I have some liberal and some conservative viewpoints does that mean I'm using both of those parts of my brain?
-
Some people also have a chemical imbalance in their brains that give them a lack of empathy. They just don't care about anyone or anything else. I.e. "reptilian thinking".

Edited by Sturmgeist: 2/11/2017 4:20:36 PMThe meta analysis seems quite biased because it didn't even consider the implications of several of its studies and derived conclusions from multiple studies that had to use corrected statistical criteria in order to evaluate many results as statistically significant. This is probably due to a low sample size for each study, as each individual study seemed like they held a bias from before they were conducted. It's clear this influenced methodology. Low sample sizes and poor methodology is an easy way to get the results you expect, especially when you change your criteria to meet the result you expect. As for implications, one study measured reaction to 'disgust'. Liberals are far less likely to react to disgusting images. What wasn't discussed is that a lower reaction to 'disgust' is highly indicative of ASPD. So, they inadvertently proved that liberals are far more likely to be psychopathic, if one were to follow similar methodological procedures and interpretation if data, as in most of the studies presented. For future reference, it's a much better idea to cite individual studies yourself and create your own analysis. Meta analysis almost always comes from a source of bias because it nearly always fails to include contradictory studies and address them. It takes selected information that meets an evaluator's intent and creates broad stroke conclusions that lack specificity and integrity. edit: Don't forget the risk that someone will actually read your source

16 RepliesSo then the many Liberals that are contradictory, uninformed, obnoxious, and brainwashed by all the agenda pushing outlets are just ignorant by choice?

5 RepliesAre you telling me conservatives have one of these things in their brains?
I don't know how brains work.
You know, there was something similar to this back when slavery was still around. Something to do with the brain. It had studies too, many were confident in it's research.

3 RepliesLiberalism — which was anti-left, pro-American and deeply committed to the Judeo-Christian foundations of America; and which regarded the melting pot as the American ideal, fought for free speech for its opponents, regarded Western civilization as the greatest moral and artistic human achievement and viewed the celebration of racial identity as racism — is now affirmed almost exclusively on the right and among a handful of people who don’t call themselves conservative. The left, however, is opposed to every one of those core principles of liberalism. Like the left in every other country, the left in America essentially sees America as a racist, xenophobic, colonialist, imperialist, warmongering, money-worshipping, moronically religious nation. Just as in Western Europe, the left in America seeks to erase America’s Judeo-Christian foundations. The melting pot is regarded as nothing more than an anti-black, anti-Muslim, anti-Hispanic meme. The left suppresses free speech wherever possible for those who oppose it, labeling all non-left speech “hate speech.” To cite only one example, if you think Shakespeare is the greatest playwright or Bach is the greatest composer, you are a proponent of dead white European males and therefore racist.
