I am SO INCREDIBLY TIRED of people calling for nerfs and buffs on the classes. They're not meant to be the same, guys! That would be so blring! They're all supposed to have DIFFERENT strengths and weaknesses to break up gameplay.
Warlocks have the best melee, but aren't as good at maneuverability. Don't nerf the warlock melee, it's one of the few good things they have. They're space wizards. They rely on abilities and magic to get the job done, not gun skill. Low armor, low agility, high recovery
Now for titans. Strong, medium maneuverability, slow recovery. THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE HARDER TO KILL. It's in the name. Making them the same will just get rid of any bonus (shields or otherwise) that they had over anyone else. There are plenty of videos on youtube showing how to counter a titan. I suggest you watch them. Titans should be slow (that is perhaps the only thing I would agree for a tweak on), but able to take more damage than average before dying, like a juggernaut. They're grenades and melee are both mediocre, not the best, but not the worst either (except for possibly lightning grenade)
Finally, hunters. Highest maneuverability, medium armor, low recovery. They're meant to be fast, agile, ABLE TO DODGE. Don't nerf Shadestep, Blink, or any other movement skill that makes Hunters unique. They also don't have the best grenades or melees, and rely mostly on gunplay to get it done. Don't buff hunter grenades. That isn't the point of the class. While the supers may not be the most effective (no overshield for GG, etc.), that isn't the point. Read the Gunslinger description: a lone wolf that lives for the perfect shot. Not someone who relies on their most powerful attack or ability to succeed.
What I'm trying to say is that the classes are almost fine where they are. Despite a few minor discrepancies with grenades or the aim assist on Thunderstrike, there is nothing wrong with any class. They're different, unique, good at one thing but terrible at another. This keeps the gameplay diverse. While weapon balancing may be needed (only Matador if anything), doing so will automatically make any class viable. Don't make them all the same. It will ruin any of the fun of choosing your class at the beginning, as it won't make a difference. Keep this game the way it's meant to be, not a bland shooter like the rest.
Edit 1: Bump this so people can see! This info needs to be heard!
Edit 2: TL;DR- Destiny is a game of rock-paper-scissors. Each class is amazing at something another isn't at all good at. They're specifically meant to counter each other, which is why there shouldn't be any nerfs or buffs to classes at all. The game isn't meant to be bland like Halo or CoD where every class/character is the same. Diversity and differentiation and individuality is key.
Edit 3: It has come to my attention that many of the facts used in my write-up are false. Please
know that I am aware of this, but am still just trying to make the point that any buffs/nerfs should be done in the name of balance, not making any aspect of any singular class better or worse. Read my responses to people's points below for more info.

I miss Sunsinger in its prime :(

1 ReplyHahahaha this guy has a total of 23 hours played in the crucible
-
17 RepliesYes. But there needs to be balance. There needs to be give and take.. Example. Low armor for high speed. High armor for low speed. To excel at one thing, you should have to sacrifice another.. And things need to have a counter so it comes down to who can think and react and make the better play.. Name a counter to a shotgun melee from a stormcaller.. the only counter is to kill them before they get within 10m.. and with movement speeds and map design.. yea good luck with that.. And if you think juggernaut is fine.. well then there's no argument that you'll succumb to.. Example of unbalanced. a titan is the fastest and also has the most armor, and to top it off he has a jug shield that can tank a golden gun shot? Not picking on titans. But that's the next example. On a side note.. if people are going for a tier 5 build on a melee.. it's obviously overpowered..

Ahmm just a question about the messenger. Will this weapon be two hit again? :D

3 RepliesA word of advice for all. Never ever listen to someone who has no pvp experience if they're talking about pvp nerfs/buffs.
-
7 RepliesYou have got to be one of the worst crucible players I've ever seen... it took one look at your stats and I almost shat out all of my exotic shards! And not to mention that you're most likely not even a year one player, especially considering the fact that you only have 2 characters and they're not even max light so either you're new or you barely even touch destiny... Pretty much any of your opinions for crucible are invalid in almost every way... Actually get good at pvp and understand everything that's happening before you even make an ignorant post like this... -Xûr out!

Bungie: We listen. On Opposite Day.
-
You say about titans Bungie is taking their shield away. This is not happening , making a slight adjustment to how long it is up is not taking it away. They are just balancing it out against other classes
-
If one ability/class outperforms others then everybody with eventually run that. Which creates a boring game. Bungie what's diverse game play. Do you not understand
-
1 ReplyHonestly I would like destiny PvP if it was CoD or Halo. I get the whole "go in with the weapons you want and play the play you want" deal but its just so obvious that so many perks and abilities are meant for PvE. If the PvP was more simple like CoD or Halo with loadouts and such then Bungie could focus on making more PvE content so we aren't playing the same few strikes or anything. Destiny is a PvE game first so honestly I dont see why they dont start pump out PvE content.

That .71 kd though.

"Warlocks have the best melee" Lmao I've played Warlock only since day 1 and not once have I ever melee killed anyone in pvp in ONE HIT . Hunter melee hits me. Down in 1. Titan melees me. Down in 1 . Warlock melees me. Down in 1. I melee anyone and everything in PVP . 2 HIT KILL . EVERY. SINGLE. TIME
-
Skip nades - UGHHHH Axion bolts - errrrr Lightning slap - hmmm It took bungie years to address the firebolt issue and nerfed all y wrong stuff up till now. You think it will change? They released the vows after Firebolts nerf? Lmao
-
2 RepliesBro you about a year too late. These ppl will never understand. I watched this game turn to shit for the last 2 years. This game use to be fun. It got too competitive. Paying to go flawless? Never thought this would be....
-
Thanks for finally putting this into words

Best post I've seen all day. Bumped

2 RepliesWhat really needs to happen is someone create a tool to let you mod the game, like back with halo reach, but this time i want: MODDING TOOL - auto completion of bounties and quest. - Change // max stats (k/d Grimoire). - Duplicate items in inventory. - Taking items from other players inventory. - auto completion of Trials passage.
-
13 RepliesHunters should be removed from the game.
-
17 RepliesEdited by Benzene21: 2/8/2017 8:13:24 PMYou are the one who does not get it. If you want to measure skill, you can't do it with a melee fight between a titan and a warlock. Why?? Because the warlock clearly has the edge. That's how you know the game is not balanced. Another example is GG. No super can beat it. There are many examples.
-
The main point is to kill off Destiny to pave the road for Destiny 2. You will now need to crossover to PC if you wish to continue playing "endgame" content. Remember what happened to Legacy Console? Ssssshhhh
-
1 ReplyWhat I'm pissed about is the nerf to Bladedancer as if it's OP that they're hard to kill. You shouldn't even be able to kill a super. Their purpose is to be OP. The only reason Golden Gun has 0 bonus armor is because it can range 1 shot anyone, and that jackass in the stream was saying "I felt it was really unfair that I couldn't kill this super so we nerfed it further." As if it was personally for him.

2 RepliesLove that striker titans are the one subclass you made exceptions to at every point. Goes to prove the point really, if there is no downside, like there is with other subclasses, or trade off (downside is a poor phrase) then its surely a no brainier that 3/4 of the people i faced on pantheon this weekend used striker titans. Push mid cube (they'll get there fastest/as you said whilst having the best ability to tank damage, allowing for quicker acquisition of mid map control/ usually allowing for a much higher probability in victory) throw lightning nade anywhere in opposing teams entrance hallway (instant 122 damage allowing for minimal effort to acquire the kill) meaning the only option for your respective teams are to hope they challenge alone, or can be flanked and primarie'd by you and your team. But, as we all know, they don't. Case in point, there's no trade off to running striker with a shotty/dragon/palindrome/lightning/twilight load out. Hence the repeated requests for balance. Yeah the Strom caller melee is stupid, and people that main storm caller admit it's stupid, double Skips are stupid. There's loads of stupid shit in the game, but most subclasses have a valid trade off in one form or another. Strikers don't. And yeah, I can't use, or haven't used a Titan I should say, anywhere near the amount of time I have the other classes. (To me personally they just didn't appeal to the type of player I want to be). But that doesn't deteriorate from the fact that strikers are in abundance now, but who knows, hopefully these coming changes will mix things up.
-
Preach it Guardian. Just small things to say on your post. Titan grenades present the most versatility, sure they may not all be amazing in the crucible but there is one for every situation when fighting the Darkness. Skips are annoying. Not necessarily saying the need a nerf, just that being chase for as long as they do for the damage they do is annoying.
-
I believe they don't listen anyway ,for the most part ,they pretty much do what they want.
-
The classes were barely different before. The classes don't make any sense either. A rogue, a mage, and a tank can't be similar. A tank shouldn't be faster than a rogue, according to other games, but in Destiny they're. Agility lol.
