I am 100% sure that this topic will be lost in the forum page, but nonetheless, i feel obligated to write it anyway. I am not a well known individual or anything like that, as a matter of fact; i am nothing more than a mere casual who enjoys Destiny. What i am here for is a small and friendly reminder to all of my guardian fellows who might stumble upon this thread: TAKE A BREAK. Seriously, take a break from the game. Do not burn your self out. I've played this game religiously for the past 3 years and oh my god do i regret it. My combined 28 days total game play can vouch for my addiction (there were time when i couldnt play) but now i look back at this passion and think "how did i play this?" Please, do not make the same mistake as me and burn yourself out. Take a break, try a different game for a few hours, dont grind for anything in the game, the less you grind for something in the game, the more you'll enjoy the game overall.
Please fellow guardians, dont burn yourselves out, and may the traveler's light guide you towards victory.

Edited by Kratos-Silni: 1/24/2017 10:26:13 AMAfter playing Titanfall 2 for almost a month, Destiny pvp looks so bad. It's slow, inconsistent and lagging like crazy. And after 60 fps playing in 30fps looks like slide show. Played last night and was trying to play with weapons that are not meta. O boy what a mistake. Destiny is the only pvp game where you have 100s of weapons and only few of them usable. So everybody should take a brake when there's so meny better games out there.

Don't have to tell me twice. I don't play anymore unless there's an event on. Occasional Trials run, but that's it.
-
Yup I don't need destiny anymore. I play bf1, overwatch and the witcher 3 all the time and they are all a blast to play. I really feel bad for people who just can't break the addiction from this game. I'll definitely play this game again if bungie revamps the old raids, but if they don't I'll be done with destiny.

5 RepliesTotally agree, I was playing the division and some doom for a few weeks there. Even iron banner felt fresh when I came back.
-
Just started playing doom after 3 years of every night.....man why did i wait so long to play another game
-
Game got boring having way more fun on DayZ

I agree. I don't feel like playing crucible everyday to keep up with sweats. I've really enjoyed beating Bioshock infinite. Played a bit of warcraft 3 pvp, beat division(not grinding that game too) and now I beat battlefield 1 campaign. I jump between battlefield 4 and 1 pvp from time to time with friends. And then the odd overwatch session. And still have time RL things. Overall life has been great! My question is why keep playing when your gear and weapons will get nerfed to the ground at some point or d2 being around the corner and just resetting everything? Try something NEW. Don't waste your life If you find it "fun" that's fair but really come on. Do you really have fun playing the same strikes, pvp maps, modes and raids over and over again? Isn't life all about experiencing new things and moving forward. Why do you think people travel to different places in the world? Experience is everything in this world. Most my friends dont want to hear another destiny story from me. I understand there point. Life doesn't revolve around destiny. Don't let it devour you

3 RepliesThree years and you're still awful.

1 ReplyEdited by GalaxySpider: 1/23/2017 11:24:22 PMI playedit since launch and still play it. It's a game. Games are meant to be fun and currently Destiny still gives me something to do everyday (even though most of the stuff are bounties). But I also play other games...and this is why Destiny never gets old to me. A few days ago I completed Fallout 4 (great game) and right now Saints Row 4 Re-Elected keeps me busy when Destiny isn't running.

Exact same thing with me (I have less time player though) Bump

Edited by Fur Hammerlock: 1/24/2017 8:45:19 AMI have nearly 80 days total played on Destiny. That's counting all the deleted Characters and stuff. (My Titan is the only Character that's been there since day one.) It'd probably be in the 150ish days played if I didn't take breaks, and I can promise everyone taking breaks is worth it. After each Expansion I'll take a break for a few months, getting no to do nightfalls, play a little PvP every once in a while. https://www.wastedondestiny.com/xbox/fur%20hammerlock I'll always play this game, have since Beta. Still one of my favourites. At least we're not this guy; http://www.wastedondestiny.com/playstation/g-money876 Over a year in time spent on Destiny.

I take breaks every now and then. I took a 6 month hiatus at one time. I pace myself, and it has kept be from burning out. It's also part of the reason that I'm not 400 yet.

Agreed I think Destiny is a great casual game I am strictly a solo player so I don't do raids or trials I do enjoy pvp even though it still needs alot of work to become great the Iron Banner events have kept me interested up until the end of 2016. I havnt played sine a week before the dawning came out mostly due to being away on holiday with my wife and kids but even upon returning around a week after the new year ticked over I still havnt felt the desire to jump back into destiny. I have been playing Diablo 3 and gears of war 4 with my eldest kid and the remainder of my gaming time has been on the PC, Eternal Crusade and deathwing as well as going back to diablo 2 and total war warhammer. I still have over 200 pc games that I havnt played yet and qill be getting for honour and mass effect andromeda in the coming months.

I've put in over 1500 hours into this game and i am still loving it. I take breaks all the time and play different games so I don't burn out or smash my head into a wall because pvp is so broken. Even tho it has its ups and downs it will forever be one of my favorite games.

I stopped playing just before TTK dropped . Just hopped back in to the game about 3 weeks ago
-
3 RepliesI haven't played in like 3 weeks lol
-
2 RepliesMaybe you just need to take a break from video games altogether. Try finding a girlfriend... or draw an airplane... paint the house... cut the grass... clean your bedroom.
-
Guardian down. Suck it up buttercup and keep going.

2 RepliesHave a Kit-kat.

3 Replies28 days ... that's it.... dude come talk to me when you hit 40

I took a break for a while. Rather, I quit playing when TTK released, after getting locked out of content i previously had access to, because bungie/Activision decided paywalls were fitting tributes to year 1 players. Later, I received TTK as a gift from some friends who had just started. So I came back for them. Now I'm semi regular, opting for free ps+ games and BF1 instead (although EA isn't any better but they haven't locked me out of content yet).

3 RepliesI wonder how bungie likes this post? bungie we need to leave your game and Xmas wasn't even a month ago. nothing new till April. I just read an AMA on reddit about cheating on PvP. self professed cheater said he consistently cheated for 5 mouths straight before you took away his trials gear and that's it...smh
