11 RepliesEdited by CheesyfaceChase: 12/12/2016 8:47:47 PMExcept Saladin wouldn't be Thor. It would be Radegast.

3 RepliesBut the Iron Lords are more of a reference to King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Saladin is lile the Lancelot of the group and your character is like the Galahad

2 Repliesstill more work then what went into year 1 of Destiny's story XD

3 RepliesHaha, that's pretty cool. I know this one's obvious but maybe you can find some more information on why the Vex are named after mythical creatures. It's probably just for the design side of them, but there's always the possibility that there is a story to their names in-universe. Ah yes, maybe the Major and Ultra Vex names are derived from mythological creatures or objects (you can try Sekrion, Qodron, etc.).

Lol there is alot of mythological stuff to this game. There's also lovely hidden hand offs and refrences to old games. Hell a mode for a game got a ship and a indirect quote ripped from it even.

Many aspects of Destiny come from Greek Mythology. This article here explains what is seen when you read between the lines.

1 ReplyNext thing you know, people are gonna realize that old trials gear was modeled after the sun god Ra and god of the underworld Anubis (titan, warlock respectively) Maybe next they'll make the connection with the scarab and Khepera where the beetle pushes the sun across the sky like a ball of dung

Do you use the horn horn?

Warlock armor: Samsara I refers to Hiduism belief of Samsara

1 ReplyNice post but sunsinger doesn't use mjonir, that's sunbreakers.

Also, Saladin is the name of a former sultan of egypt and syria.

I've always loved mythology, and it's always fun telling people that, that one guy from the Thor movies has a Gjallarhorn. But, in Norse mythology, it's full title is Gjallarhorn. It means "Yelling horn" I didn't read the whole picture so this could've been in there somewhere 😂 So yeah, it doesn't mean horn horn like he said. But still cool.

You chose correctly
-
You put this in the regular Destiny forums.

I've previously noticed lots of asatru lore in destiny, maybe why I enjoy the game more than other fps
