Why do nightfall?
Just did nightfall 3rd week in a row and what's the point? Once you get to 400 light there really isn't a point. It offers no specific loot that is for that strike. Its a complete crap shoot for any rewards. The one I was just in one guy got a ghost and a mote, I got 13 coins and the 3rd got .......... Nothing.
There should be, at least, a guaranteed strike specific item or 5 keys. Something that makes these once a week "quests" worth while. I use to be a daily player and quite honestly destiny was the only game I had. Now the only thing I do is iron banner and of course the new content. I still do the nightfall one out of something to do and two just the possibility of something good.
The nightfall is supposed to be a more challenging strike shouldn't it mean that you get better rewards.

I do nightfalls for a somewhat unique challenge. If you only play for rewards, then Destiny becomes a grindfest, and you might as well just play online slot machines.

Once you get to the point that the only reason to play something in the game is some digital commodity reward then its time to reconsider other plausible options for entertainment... Its about the journey, not the destination :)

7 RepliesNow, the nightfalls will give you a guaranteed skeleton key so they're worth doing again. I find them bloody hard though in Y2/3 compared to Y1, even though I can die and not get kicked to orbit. I just avoid the warsat week now altogether.

I tried last night, plus dropping a 3 of coins each time. LIES. Before I called it quits, once more in a fit of rage, after about 6 SIVA strikes in a row, I got two blues and house banners or something. Archon's Forge is your best chance for getting anything good.

I've run it on two characters this week. 20 strange coins for one and 18 coins for the other. Crappy week for me. It happens just hopefully not again for a long long time.

I've stopped doing the nightfall for rewards a while ago. Now i'm soloing it every week for a challenge. You should try it. Most nightfalls offers a fair challenge and it can require some dedication to do it. Currently, it's the activity i enjoy most in destiny. 3 RepliesThey made nightfall a cake walk now. Pretty sure the rewards pre-LL 400 were potentially too good vs the difficulty/time spent. I hope D2 goes back to its Vanilla predecessors roots. Make Nightfall great again

I just do night falls to solo it. It's one of the only things that allows for solo in destiny. COE you can but its way to easy even solo.
