Welcome to the game. First thing you'll be doing is the story. It leverages better guns and abilities as you unlock them. After that, what you really want to do is up to you. Around level 10, you are good for crucible. If you find the story of running on Venus, Mars, and the Moon fun? Make sure to do those things as well as the daily bounties to help your experience pools grow, thus unlocking better equipment and abilities. If you find the game to be fun in player versus player? Look no further then the crucible, but please pay attention to the notes regarding the weekend event called "Trials of Osiris" as they are very important. You also will want to avoid the event called Iron Banner as it will overwhelm you at first. Looking at your post, you said you purchased the collection. Ok. Good. That includes: Destiny Expansion I: The Dark Below Expansion II: House of Wolves The Taken King Rise of Iron Level 40 Character Boost The first thing you should know is the the character boost will be in your postmaster when you sign in. Remember that it cannot be dismantled, so if you don't use it? You will be stuck with it. Read it carefully to know when is the right time to use it and how long you have (I think it's the first 20 levels or something to use it by then). Quests- Your adventures within the adventure. From time to time, you'll get crucible quests, mission quests, and DLC questlines. These quests will open up the moment you play, when you play enough of an activity, or on random intervals. Please note, there is a lot of them and some of them have no "official" status, but can be done at any time and can be retrieved if you decide to delete it from your inventory in the Tower. Bounties- Your daily and weekly one's matter! Bounties means two things: Experience, which always accumulates, and unique quests in the crucible from time to time. Completing them will give you a good understanding of how to play the game as well since they essentially change everyday to give you different objectives within patrol. Patrol- When you want to see the area's before and after the missions. The missions will get you the basic story. The grimoire will be infused in your surroundings too, so feel free to explore, explore, explore as much as possible. Where patrol comes in? Experience, public events, and exploration for grimoire clues. Public events can be solo'd, but typically require good teamwork from someone new to gaming. Don't worry, they aren't that difficult once you get used to them. One more thing about patrol... there's this enemy vandal? In the cosmodrome place called the Forgotten Shores... If you shoot him and you don't think his health is going down? It is, but you should run. Quickly. Save your ammo. Shooting with sniper will do a lot... but your going to need a lot of sniper bullets... a lot... Raids- This where the powerful monsters be... Your first raid should ideally be the first, as it was the hardest in many people's opinion, the Vault of Glass. Won't tell you what's inside. Just that you will find out, painfully, why the name Praetorian Foil eludes most guardians to this day... and if you get exotics from it? Feel free to remember the moments because they are the reason why #Forever29 was a thing back in the day. The next raid is the Dark Below raid called Crota's End. As it sounds, you'll be ending something. Enjoy. The House of Wolves did not feature a raid. It instead featured a mob arena called Prison of Elders which you will be visiting later known as Challenge of the Elders. Good luck with those modifiers during the bosses too. Following these, you'll want to venture onto a certain spaceship you'll discover on your own and beat it's lord and master. He won't be hard to spot in the fights to ensue... And last, you come to the current raid, Wrath of the Machine. Again, you'll discover it's secret's on your own. Here's a hint: 7777 is when you are done with the puzzle. Enjoy. There's a lot to do. Better get to work because there's still a lot of us since year 1 who haven't done absolutely every completion item on your profiles...

Not to sound like a douche but I'm not buying that this is your first game ever.

If you are on Xbox then my review for the game would be: meh. If you are on PlayStation then it would be: slightly less meh. (Goes home and cries about exclusives)
