It is actually a broken gun.
How so?
When comparing a base range Clever Dragon and a No Time To Explain (a higher range pulse rifle), one would suspect NTTE would have a farther effective range before damage dropoff than the Clever Dragon...
CD range base is 31, 20 less than NTTE's 51
Not true at all.
Clever Dragon at base range, no range boosting perks aside from High Cal Rounds vs a No Time To Explain with fitted stock works as follows:
Clever dragon:
49m effective range (before damage falloff) with High Cal rounds
50m with AP rounds
Rangefinder adds 3m of effective range to both situations.
NTTE:
34m effective range before damage falloff.
Stop right there.
34m.
Are you shitting me Bungie.
Look at the freaking stat bars.
NTTE HAS A MASSIVE CHUNK OF RANGE ON THE CLEVER DRAGON. 20 RANGE POINTS INFACT
I thought the NTTE might just be bugged, however with other testing with Red Death, Hopscotch and I find that it is indeed The Clever Dragon that is indeed a broken weapon.
I love Destiny, I really do. It's just hard to compete against such a gun without using it or say like a Tlaloc or ignore the sperg in me and not used my god rolled (Braced Frame, HCR, Hidden Hand) Clever Dragon when its clearly superior than most if not all primaries.
Edit: You all are mistaking the purpose of this post. Its not a Bungie please nerf. It is has Bungie you -blam!-ed up and this gun isnt working as intended or stated as it supposed to.
Edit: Given the amount of idiots in the comment section; this isn't a op nerf post. This is the Clever Dragon stat sheet is incorrect, it has more range than its stated base of 31.

5 RepliesEdited by IIIIIIIIIIIIIII-: 11/29/2016 10:00:11 PMReaders: go to guardian.gg to see weapons stats. OP, Clever Dragon is garbage. You complained about it, you become garbage.

3 RepliesI finally found a fix for crucible
deleted destiny and started playing BF1
Clever dragon and matador 64 are both in need of nerfs. It's all I ever see in crucible , that and I see the 1k yard stare with its good old aim assist doing work lol

2 RepliesLook at the range stat on last word and i can kill someone thats in auto rifle range and consistently. Hawkmoon has a higher range stat, strugles at auto rifle range and isnt consistent... For reals though... Why do i get more ghost bullets on hawkmoon than i do with last word when last word has a lower range stat and a higher ROF

1 ReplyClever Dragon is fine. The real problem is that most other primary weapons suck thanks to constant nerfing.
-
10 RepliesClever dragon is a test. They are gauging what primaries should feel like. I believe all primaries should feel like this again. That almost includes grim citizen and shadows price doing 27 head hits again.......

2 RepliesEdited by Kone19ps: 11/28/2016 8:31:49 PMYou may want to add you can't compare range across weapon types. Only within them. I'm seeing lots of comments thinking pulse range and handcannon range values are the same or mean the same thing. Range is a summary of multiple factors, so a handcannon and an auto could have the same range stat and have it mean very different things.

Edited by Airboy: 11/28/2016 8:24:12 AMWhoever done this is the Worker of the Year!. They have take it out from mida and put it in a much faster pulse rifle... he must be a genius! Edit: "satire"

Im suffering right know by this hcr

My philosophy is that if it shoots like a Doctrine, it shouldn't be able to snipe like a Colovance. Nerfs to range towards the weapon class as a whole could fix the problem.

10 RepliesShould they nerf CD? No. Should they nerf all grasp of malok type pulse? Yes and no. If bungie buffed low RoF pulse (red death, hopscotch pilgrim, etc) to be a 2 burst to the head. That would be fair. Then the lowest RoF and the highest RoF would be able to fight one another with a fair chance on both sides. A range nerf to grasp type pulses is needed tho. When trials was on first light I was killed from literally a cross the map with a CD. The player wasn't pecking me or missing most of his shots either. They landed every shot and it still 3 tapped me. If bungie don't buff low RoF pulse rifles, then yes, nerf all grasp of malok type pulse. It should be a 4 burst kill, and not as much range. That's the rule scout rifles and auto rifles follow. The lower the RoF, the less bullets it needs to kill. The faster RoF, the more bullets needed to kill.

Bungie has never been real big on having the published stats on weapons mean a DAMN THING. I have had guys argue the point but so many just ride bungie like you wouldn't believe. I hope the little dragon will be used much like the Nirwen's was as an excuse to nerf a weapon class. I hate to say that I really do but the high fire rate pulse rifle weapons are just actually the most effective AR's in the game but you have to spam the trigger. They have left using any other pulse rifle to be a foolish act and have left it to where you can equip what ever you want so long as you don't mind loosing every duel to every dragon you come up against. So long as you are good with that then hey run what ever weapon you want. I lost year one hopscotch to nerf, much salt much therapy. I got the Nirwen's and recovered. I lost it to nerfs. Much salt much tears. I have a perfect grasp and a perfect spam dragon. I HOPE to loose both to nerfs.
