The elections are over and there are still political rants in the forums.
Edit: This is trending somehow
Edit 2: The results are pretty interesting, I expected more people to vote no.
Edit 3: Whether you're a liberal, conservative, or independent person, I guess we can all agree that offtopic is a weird place to be in right?

9 RepliesIf they support Trump, there isn't even intelligence in those posts.

You have no rights. Play nice
-
As someone who post every now and then, I'd say no. It's fine as it is.
-
Freedom of speech doesnt apply here. You have no rights on b.net. Bungie is a privately owned company. They dont need Congress.
-
No because some stupidity is good to laugh at.
-
It should never have been unbanned. from 2015 until now Offtopic has been recycling the same 2 politishit flamebait threads to spam day in, day out. If anything it'll make the users here discuss something without copy/pasting complete responses directly from /pol/
-
Imo it could be worse.
-
Sorry guy's, the popular vote doesn't matter. Now get back to the political shitposting!
-
Yes, the average maturity level and age range of b.net users is too low for civil, intelligent, or educated discussions on topics such as religion and politics. While some may argue that many adults also lack the maturity and intelligence to civilly discuss these topics, they at least have a larger life experience than that of a 13 to 17 year old, on average. A website where the minimum bar for entry and participation is 13 years old, should not allow these types of discussions as they only allow for further flaming of users based on still developing opinions and beliefs. One could argue that being exposed to those opposing opinions is helpful for opening a person's mind to new ideas, however when they are presented in a malformed and antagonizing way, which is how many young users unknowingly present their stances, there is no room for civil debate when either side continuously attacks the other with childish remarks and unoriginal insults.

there isnt any free speech on the bungie forum.

Edited by Commander Tempu: 11/22/2016 5:34:44 PMBack on Old B.net they used to not have religion or politics. It was much nicer that way. People tried and tried. Then when new B.net came along they allowed it. Now you have the mess you see before you. Once you open that Genie bottle you cant wish it away.

Temporarily.
-
Seeing as religous threads was banned in the old forum i say yes.
-
Please god.
-
Political/Religious topics used to be banned on the public forums. The community demanded that they allow those topics when the new hawtness came out, so they did. I guess the newer users wasn't the ban reinstated now.
-
They should ban this post for being pointless.
-
1 ReplyWhy? There would literally be no content in offtopic anymore.

You guys smell that?, I smell irony
-
Yes, as it was once against the rules.
-
Politics is a big enough topic to become it's own subforum. I see no reason for there not to be #politics. This action would easily fix this problem.
-
Yes. When politics and religion weren't allowed on b.net, this site was a far more peaceful place.
-
No we couldn't laugh at others stupidity
-
1 ReplyI guess you want to make offtopic great again
-
There are plenty of other websites to rant about politics. Do it there.
