Who still rocks a Sunsinger?
Been off for about a week and got on for a few hours tonight. I had a blast but the game feels different. Played many styles recently and looking to try a new build. My next project will likely be a firebolt build and I am determined to use this hawkmoon even though I'm getting hammered when I do lol.
I've seen some hate on YouTube still which makes me laugh. I also see people trying to use it and experiment which is cool. This class is still misunderstood imo.
So as I start to actually try and level I was curious what everyone that still praises the sun is using? What do you avoid in a build and which artifact and exotic is your go to?
Posted a throwback orb machine build I dusted off for PvE tonight. Please share yours and specifically any useless perk/ability. To me finding a way to make these things shine is fun.

My preferred Sunsinger set up is: - Claws of Ahamkara or Sunbreakers -Sisyphus Project (Solar Grenades) artifact -Solar Grenades -Balance Glide -Radiant Skin -Brimstone -Sunburst -Touch of Flame -Arcane Spirit and Ancestral Order Brimstone was buffed back in April so not only does it have a bigger explosion but it also has reduced melee cooldown. With max strength it feels like my cooldown is around 15-20 seconds. Pair it with Claws and Sunburst and I'm constantly generating orbs for teammates. Plus it's just fun as hell to smack someone in the face and watch them explode. I'd like to integrate Song of Flame more but it's really dependent that your teammates are attentive and recognize when they have the buff.

Lots of people. Its funny seeing people still use self res in the crucible, especially in 6s. Such a waste of potential.

The only real reason I'm running sunsinger is because I recently remade my warlock and it's the only subclass I've leveled up entirely, that being said, it still has a lot of potential but at the cost of the super. Respectfully switching from memory of skorri or felwinters depending on the situation

I almost exclusively run Sunsinger on my Warlock. The damage potential is absolutely incredible. Was doing the Raid on my lock last night and I ran Sunsinger. I never use Fireborn though because I am careful enough, I instead run Radiant Skin so I can through more nades. The Viking Funeral/Touch of Flame/Fusion Grenade/Starfire Protocol combo is incredible.

Monte Carlo gives quick access to flame shields, and the Ram alongside Felwinter put your armor through the roof. I'm not a fan of radiance so felwinter also gives me free access to double nades and melee. Angel of light is also really useful with shotguns

9 RepliesRun firebolts with some kind of grenade throw distance increase (ophidian aspects are better but if you don't have them grenade throw distance gloves will do) only use touch of flame don't use Viking funeral. It's essentially useless with firebolts. Run increased super duration instead. Flameshield is best for melee and if you can stay alive I recommend radiant skin instead of self res. Finally equip burst glide and you're good to go. For pve change to Viking funeral and fusion grenades with touch of flame and radiance becomes a boss melter

I use sunsinger on my warlock and love it. Sure it may have gotten nerfed but dang is it still fun.

I usually have 2 PvP builds when running Sunsinger, 1) Fusion grenades, radiant skin, flame shield, radiant will, and gift of the sun with the Claws of Ahamkara for double melee. 2) Firebolt grenades, flame shield, Viking funeral, and touch of flame. I use the ophidian aspects for quickdraw and melee/nade throw distance and memory of Felwinter for double melee/grenade charges. PvE Build: Solar Grenades, Radiant Skin/Fireborn, Brimstone, Viking Funeral, and ToF. I use the sunbreakers for double solar grenades which are really good for clearing out adds and applying the Viking funeral debuff to bosses. While Sunsinger might not be the best class at the moment, it still has the potential to help out your teammates, and provide clutch plays with self-res.

I recently switched to using the ram. I run either a vigil or shotty and just spam fusion nades.

3 RepliesI use sunsinget from time to time in PVP just for fun. I use fusion nades, Sunbrust and angel of light, If you know how to master the sub-class, you're gonna be a monster with it. For the exotic, I use light beyond nemesis, my all-time favourite exotic. Also, radiant skin with dark drinker to make shit tons of orbs in PVE.
