So I'm a 390 Hunter whose been around since Y1 and I've never been Flawless,so I'd like to get some tips from you guys who have gone Flawless.
Anything would be greatly appreciated.
Quick question should I use the default controls or should I use Green Thumb?
I ask this because I've seen streamers use Green Thumb and it works pretty damn well for them.

6 RepliesEdited by spoderpoppin: 11/16/2016 4:15:25 PMI'll give you the best tips I know for trials and I have a 1.6 + kd in trials. 1. Use the op weapons of the moment. This is a competition it's not cheating. ATM what I like in trials is the last word, i aim at corners where my radar is red and using the last word allows me to win any 1v1. Other good guns atm (clever dragon, grasp, palindrome) trials is all about winning 1v1 gun fights. 2. Use a sniper, with radar you will have trouble shot gun rushing, use a sniper. I get so many kills with my sniper it's disgusting. Sniping is easy just practice with a sniper you like. 3. Your team is probably the most important thing. For low Elo players I suggest just play with whoever you can and focus on getting yourself better. Good luck bro, the lighthouse is for everyone. It may take some work but it pays off and is a great feeling. Also I noticed you only have like 6 days playing time total, that's not a whole lot in terms of crucible practice

4 RepliesFind some guys of equal or better playing abilities. Depending on the map have fast review armor and gain super energy from revive armor. Team shot when possible Don't go the same way every time unless it works in you favor and your beating your opponent. Have fun, it's just a game! Learn the maps and have call outs for all the areas. If a sniper is hard scoping and you know he is good go a different way or just camp. Find where the flag capture points are and know where heavy spawns. Work as a team! If one of you is having a bad night make sure you stick together but be aware of supers. Learn what you're strong at and use it to your advantage.

1 ReplyEdited by A Syrian Refugee: 11/16/2016 6:47:51 AM#1 tip: Dont get picked off! 9/10 the team who goes down 1 man first will lose. If you arent a good sniper..........dont snipe. Trading kills isnt effective. #2 Tip: Communication. If you die dont bitch about how you died for the next 30 seconds. Remember your other teammates are still trying to win. Tell them what you see on the map. It helps A LOT Also dont be that guy who bitches after every death. I used to be that guy until I realized how annoying it is for the people listening. #3 Tip: Use Meta. Dont be a special snowflake with your SUROS regime or whatever BS gun you think wrecks. Use a hadncannon/pulse and a shotgun. #4 Tip: PLAY YOUR RADAR. You are better off playing your radar than looking at your screen. #5 Tip: Learn to Rush when your opponents dont expect it. I make my bread and butter off of double kills this way. #6 Tip: Use your supers at the right time. If your team is up 3v1 dont super. #7 Tip: Just because your team is up 3v1 doesnt mean you guys are invincible. So easy to clutch a 3v1 if the other 3 guys just run at you one at a time. If you are the 3 man team just hold back and build up super. #8 Tip: If you are in a 3v1 situation. Dont run around for 60 seconds. You are just letting the other team build super. If you cant even pick one of them off then just die #9 Tip: Know when to revive and when not to. Also dont be that guy who ALWAYS says his rez is safe even though it never is. Its just a slefish move. 99% of the time your teammates know your rez is there but arent going for it for reasons you may not see. Meh could keep going but its all common sense. Practice is all you can do to get better. Your best bet to improving is to be playign Elimination right now

The biggest thing I had to learn is say your shooting someone they are super weak and run away. Do not chase them 9 out of 10 times they told their team they are weak and they are waiting to team shoot you when you chase. In the other side when your weak let your team know your weak and where your getting shot from so they can cover. Communication is HUGE. Also if you snipe never double peak a sniper lane that's instadeath. Practice helps alot knowing when to push and when to be patient.

2 RepliesSetups for controllers doesnt really matter, everybody has their own controller setup and you can customize it in any way possible. When it comes to tips: go watch youtubers like my clanmates Truevanguard, apexcris or sirdimitreous. They give great explainations on what they did. Next to that is rewatching your own gameplay to see the things you did wrong and think about how you could done it better. Then play and focus on that and rewatch your gameplay 2 weeks later and see if you improved

Get lucky.

You should use the Puppeteer controler setting. And you should find yourself teammates that match your internet connection, so you guys don't experience latency. You can not play against players, which see you a second earlier on their screens ;)

1 Replyit doesn't matter what layout you use, as long as your practiced in quick and precise movements. just pick one, stick with it, and practice. Otherwise, going flawless has been tough for me too. some things I've noticed and tips I can give: -set aside enough time to play multiple cards (good chance to loose) -practice with a group. don't run in blind and get pissed at their play style -first kill determines a lot. don't make a stupid initial rush but don't let your teamate make a stupid rush alone. -remain calm no matter what. getting worked up hurts team coms. -teamshot. this comes with callouts and map awareness. make conscious efforts to shoot more than less. most of all: have fun. it's still a game and getting too into trials can be taxing mentally and emotionally.
