So, on the subject of Hunter Speed...

Hunters, are described as the fastest class in game, but we don't have anything that can compare with titan skating and dune marchers. I'm not saying titan skating and dune marchers need to be REMOVED, but I think hunters could use a speed boost. So people are arguing there's a difference between agility and speed. Well, that doesn't make much of a difference in terms of titans being able to speed through everything while a hunter lags behind, titans shouldn't be this much faster than hunters.

  • Titans are only fast in a straight line, they cant change their mid-air direction like Hunters. They may be fast but they arent agile.

    • They need to figure something out to stop or slow down titan skating without destroying the twilight, a boost option, or the class itself. As a titan main I feel that its cheap and kinda cheating. I had a friend of a friend ask me "why do you main a titan if you cant skate?" And i told him i had been a titan main since Y1 before titan skating was a thing, and that i feel its dishonourable since titans in lore are about honour (the reason titans dont have blink even though they were offered to be taught, was because it would dishonour their creed or something as titans) so because of this i feel like even though we have 1 boost but 3 different options, titan skating is cheap and i will never do it completely. I do speed up a little so i can get somewhere faster but no to the point of skating, its more of a slight boost to running.

        • Cayde literally says in the bladedancer quest that a striker can only hope to match the speed of a bladedancer. Now all titans can go Mach 1.

        • No class should have move armor. My Titian wins so many 1v1 fights due to armor. He takes an extra hand cannon shot to drop. My hunter can jump and roll around but it's not like I'm able to consistently land shots in the air. Love my hunter but Titans have the advantage.

        • Bones of eao, and increased control will let you move nearly as fast as a mediocre titan. Which is still fast. But a good titan, you arent catching.

        • Oh my god. Hunters are used for their quick unpredictable movement. Titans are used for speed. Warlocks are used for their consistent fluent movement. (No one says hunters should be the fastest).

          • Except Titans only achieve speed by sacrificing verticality. Please don't rule out how important vertical movement is, I know it's easy to overlook because it's not a straightforward concept. Obi Wan can tell you himself how important it is, though.

            • I think you're overlooking it. Play as a bladedancer with your agility completely maxed(this means using the perk that increases your max speed + increases your slide distance) and use a weapon that grants +2 speed like a Mida. Also, try and have armor that increases your agility. Like the "arc double kills increase agility movement". THEN tell me just how much faster Titans are than hunters. From personal experience, I have been able to close an extremely large gap between enemies so fast that by the time they see me on the radar, my bullets have already landed inside their head. And if you really like catching them by surprise, try using the Bones and surprise them from above.

              • Hunters are a technically a scout or rogue class so by mmo or elf standards they should by all means be the fastest class in the game without trying, titans should be a tank and warlocks would be more of a cleric or paladin (basically the middle ground between titans and hunters), the issue is destiny isn't technically an mmo, so in that aspect each class is a mess, and pretty much has the same damage threshold, titans with full armor tend to take maybe one or two bullets more then a low armored hunter, which isn't a big difference considering most weapons in this game have insane aim assist,

              • There are a few tweaks I'd make to hunters, but if you're comparing them against other class exotics, that doesn't really count, IMHO.

A good player takes massive advantage of this and uses it to outmaneuver their opponents. A lesser player complains that this doesn't make a difference.

                • Before titans knew how to skate they were being outrun by hunters yet they act like they've known how to do this since day one. I'm sure some "beta" "alpha" Titan will reply to this shortly..

                  It looks like a lot of effort for a Titan to do that? (only used a Titan for a short amount of time) where as I put bones of aeo on and I'm outta here. Also in the blade dancer and voidbow subclass there is a perk to upgrade sprinting speed. It's not drastic but you will win a foot race.

                • I would like to ask as well: Why does a Titan only have about 10 hit points available to him over the other classes? His armour is heavy enough to crush a rock and thick enough to stop cabal fire point blank, yet I don't seem to gain any benefits. Titans need much more health. Warlocks are apparently the recovery class and intelligent class, but they need to be out of combat to space magic their injuries and are restricted to the same intellect timeframe as the other classes, and with sunsinger getting its nerfs the warlock class isn't very warlocky any more. Warlock need more power and the ability to recover health at half speed during a gunfight. Hunters are supposed to be the lone wolf assassiny guys, however even on their most assassiny class they're still open to quick ambush. Hunters should have a more detailed radar as standard and better stealthing mechanics or DPS mechanics as well as much higher mobility. To offset though, hunters are locked to 3 armour max and get a restored to old blink to offset the 1 recovery penalty.

                  • Hunters ability to reposition both on the ground (shade step), up into the air (blink), and in air (triple jump) are unrivalled. The make consistently landing shots a pain since the opponent has to reposition and attempt to track them. Disorientation is vastly undervalued in this game. At higher levels where gun skill is pretty much on par, mobility is the most important skill. Thus it's not really surprising that the bulk of players use hunters.

                    With me providing no facts and going off opinion, I feel it needs work. The guy wearing a dress and a dude that looks like Batista wearing armor are not only running along with my lanky @ss hunter, but they can pull ahead? It's like watching a tank outrun a rally cross car. Dafuq
