Not my words, those of the Bungie lead pvp designer, Mantis:

It's attitudes like that which make me throw money at the screen
Edit:
Another thread in #Destiny, started before mine about the same tweet, if people want to see others thoughts, and share their ideas their too:

3 RepliesTo be fair they did say it's for the elite players when it came out
-
2 RepliesI don't even have a positive k/d yet I went flawless without a carry. You just need some good friends and the better spawn on what ever crap map they decide for the week
-
So for average players like me ... ha. ha. ha...
-
I brought this up to KJHovey and the Managator today. They said average players absolutely deserve to go, as it's not about personal skill, but teamwork and chemistry. Sherpas and carries are only there if you want them, but there shouldn't be some sort of wall preventing average players from seeing the Lighthouse without a carry if they work for it. I could go on for hours about how butt frustrated I get about this topic.
-
16 RepliesThe problem is entitlement. Just because it is in the game doesn't mean we all deserve it. I truly suck at PvP and will never get to the Lighthouse. And... I'm ok with that. If I put enough work into my PvP, I'll eventually get there. Until I earn it, I don't want it.
-
1 ReplyI do free carries and account recoveries just hmu on the weekends
-
I played Trials for the first time yesterday, it made me hate Destiny.
-
1 ReplyEdited by Dizco Pat: 10/25/2016 4:11:02 AMThey should do something about carrying then.
-
16 RepliesBut being good at video games doesn't get you laid, so there's that.
-
I'm okay with it being difficult to get there. I am however, sick of seeing carrying services. Twitch streamers whoring themselves out to scrubs with no work ethic.
-
I just downgraded from regular to filthy causal. And kissed good bye to any hopes and dreams I had of making it to the lighthouse, be it thru the proper way or being carried. And you know what, I'm ok with it. I just treat with the attitude I have for trophies or achievements, just because I paid for a game doesn't mean I will be able to get all of em.

12 RepliesEdited by SoAnnoying: 10/25/2016 12:01:36 AM"it is absolutely intended that average players do not go to the Lighthouse. There is nothing to fix there." Must have missed that when Bungie told 'everyone' that if you buy the game most people will 'not' have access to certain parts it.... If this is the kind of 'elitism' that will be in Destiny 2..., no thanks.
-
2 RepliesBungie better ban carries if average people are not meant to go to the lighthouse.
-
8 RepliesWhat they need to fix is people charging to carry others there for money. They do nothing while idiots fritter hundreds of dollars/pounds/euros to get there. You're not elite if you buy you're way there. Having said that, I've never wanted to even try, who wants to be in Europe paying on a hosted game in Texas against three guys sat in the same house? Any argument for any destiny PvP being in anyway "competitive" is moot until everyone connects to a neutral server.
-
2 RepliesI'm sure they meant for more people to pay for lighthouse carries than people who get there through hard work and practice. Ha. What a joke.
-
14 RepliesEdited by Skognacious: 10/24/2016 9:49:06 PMI just pay people...problem solved. Go see Mercury pretty much every weekend. I don't give a Fuh. Pay to win, spending money on pixels, feeding streamers. Man come off it. I make my own money so I spend it how I like, could be snorting coke up my noise or pissing my money away with a gambling addiction. I pay/donate to guys, and nice people to help a guy out. Sprinkle whatever type salt on me natural, sea, hell even table salt your mad cause it's not easy to get there and like everything else good in the game wah I can't use it or get it Nerf it! It's reality and I don't wanna bang my head against the wall. pay people and it's done. Go Hawks!
-
11 Replies& it's people like you why this community is the worst in gaming. According to your stats you're avg & shouldn't go.

Edited by SergioVengeance: 10/25/2016 1:28:06 AMI will have to agree. I am not godlike in PVP, but can hold my own. I went flawless last week with just standing around the reef and asked a random team of two if they needed a third. I went flawless twice in TTK with my friends handfuls of times in Y1 It takes a lot of practice. I was not carried, my team worked very well together, communicated. Trials to me is like an equation. Once you know the maps and tactics teams use, counter them/find the best counter and you will always win. The problem I have with Trials is the cheaters and Bungie DOES NOT do perma-bans from why I have seen. DDOS is a federal crime, the fact they slap people on the wrist for this behavior speaks volumes. If you are cheating or involved in a cheating team, you get perm- bannded...Not "We'll see you next week" BS

1 ReplyIt makes sense to me that going to the Lighthouse should be a reward for excelling. As a PvP scrub without the skill or inclination to improve, I won't be going on my own. Nor will I by hopping on the shoulders of superior players to get carried. However, if this fellow really thinks that Trials of Osiris is working as he and his fellow designers "intended," then he's delusional.

1 ReplyAny Single Moms in here?
-
1 ReplyI was carried today to the lighthouse. First time too. Finally got the titan helmet I wanted :)
-
I've pub stomped plenty of flawless emblems . Plenty of average players have made it to lighthouse (myself included) . It's just harder I guess
-
1 ReplyLighthouse? *throws money at the screen* 3x flawlesses in three hours and people say money cant buy happiness.
Still haven't seen anyone cry in the lighthouse
-
Been to the light house many times. In year 1 getting to the LH was easy mode as MM would give you less than stellar players. In the current interation of trials it is more about skill. I could care less if people pay to go flawless, not my money. If you cant make it play more pvp. Practice makes perfect.
-
But there is when win based matchmaking doesn't even do it's one job
-
83 RepliesHow to fix Trials; Give players TWO routes to get to the Lighthouse - 1st Option: 9 Straight Wins (Flawless) 2nd Option: 50 Match Wins (Not Consecutive) This will make it so average players can still make it to the lighthouse but have to work LONGER to achieve it. Fudge it, make it 100 Match Wins (Not Consecutive), at least there will be an option for average players to take and reach the light house. It's a simple fix that would make many players in the community happy. No one has creativity anymore!!!
