Battlefield 1 is "launching" tonight. By launching that means if you spent an extra $20 to play early and get some bonuses that in past years were simple pre-order bonuses. So I guess everyone is ok with $60 games not only having half the content they used to, not only having an extra $50-60 of DLC that used to be included, not only having a skin store, but we are now also ok with paying and extra $20 to play the game two days early and get some skins that used to be just standard pre-order bonuses.
It's one thing to launch a game like Halo 5 where there is a skin store that pays for ALL the DLC. It's another to do what Battlefield and Call of Duty do where you get a $60 game with an extra $50 worth of map packs AND a skin/weapon store.
It's gone too far. Either pick paid DLC packs or a Skin store not both and we as gamers need to stop letting them do this

Pretty funny, local store had a TON of the early enlister edition left a week later. I think most people are giving up on the pre order scam.

2 RepliesI remember when you played a game and beat it that was it or you played it again on a harder difficulty. No dlc , no updates and no multiplayer. If the game was broken oh well. And kids today complaining about Grinding. Go play any games from the 80's and you will see a real grind. And don't even get me started on graphics..gamers these days

7 RepliesHere's a thought, if it pisses you off so much, don't buy it?

Stop pre orders.
-
I got 5 dlcs for what is probably either the price of what I would pay for them or maybe a little cheaper than buying them all by themselves. Explain to me how I'm getting ripped off
-
1 ReplyI just wish you was able to buy a game from the store them take it home and immediately play it. Now wait for the game to download. Sometimes it takes hours just to play it. However, I gonna give these gaming company some credit. Not only are they making money off of their games but pulling in money for dlcs/extra content that comes out.

4 RepliesDon't forget eververse and how much money it has generated. Remember when games never even had dlcs? When what you had was one version of the game and the only real reason to buy a new disc/cartridge was for the newer versions of them if you hated the bugs in the older version? Now we have dlcs that were finished before the game's release even, all for an extra $40 season pass. <-- which are actually going up in prices for some games.

1 ReplyOh god... we've gone from complaining about anti consumer pre-order bonuses to wanting them back
-
3 RepliesSo is this about paying to play it early, or dlc?
-
1 ReplyThe gaming industry is more expansive now. Expecting games to stay at a fixed price point while quality increases is absurd. That's why we have more dlcs coming along with 60$ games.
-
3 RepliesI buy fewer games this gen than I ever have before. They build the hype and then deliver last years game next year. Already cODIW has been labeled a lazy BLOPS3 clone. It's hard to even care anymore. I'm still playing titanfall and ESO and I do more retro gaming than I ever have before.
-
Yeah but doesn't that easy enlister thing come with the delux edition as well?

Caveat Emptor.

Honestly pre ordering to get early access is probably the only legitimate pre order bonus these days. 90% of pre order bonuses now are just fluffed up nonsense pulled out at the last minute. Same thing happens with console timed exclusives. Which imo are the worst things to ever exist in a franchise.
-
Have you played operations on a 64 player server? My 10hrs of preview just ran out and I'm seriously considering shelling out that extra $20 to keep on playing.
-
You won't see me buying it.
-
Gamers can't change things. We just can't. Well we can't do it rationally but no one wants to go to extreme measures.
-
Not this guy.....exactly why I stopped playing destiny pre-taken king....their greed outweighed my desire to keep up the constant grind that is destiny....
-
This has been a trend for years though
-
2 RepliesThe dissapointing truth is that us as gamers will never be able to unite in order to change things. We all complain independently, and that does nothing. Many suggest not buying games to prove a point, but no one will do that.

ea prolly swimmin in that $$$$

2 RepliesHow is the skins n the little bonus crap = half the content?? And big deal, all it is if you want to play the game early than pay an extra $20 n get a few bonus add ons with that. Why are you buggin?

Shit like this makes me want to quit gaming or buy indie games exclusively.
