In a state with some of the harshest gun laws in the country, a convicted felon was able to acquire an illegal (in that state) firearm.

26 RepliesYeah, but gun control quite clearly does work. There's arguments to be made in favor of less gun regulations, but this is just scraping the bottom of the barrel and is nothing but faulty and very biased reasoning. A single (or even several) instances of a criminal obtaining a firearm is absolutely not proof that gun control does not work. The only way you could come to such a conclusion is if you have a very limited understanding of criminal justice and legal systems, as a key aspect of it is minimization rather than complete removal. Saying that gun control doesn't work because criminals can still get guns is like saying seat belts don't work because people still die in car accidents despite wearing them, and suggesting that we should stop requiring people to wear seat belts. The point is to minimize gun violence and restrict wrongdoers' access to firearms as much as possible, not wave a magic wand and bring down gun deaths to 0 instantly. Arguing that the only way something is successful is if it has a 100% success rate is extremely flawed when talking about things like this. And that doesn't even touch upon things like gun control being necessary on a national level for it to be fully effective and that creating islands of stricter regulations with zero borders that are surrounded by places with significantly lower gun control standards is not too effective.

3 RepliesCriminals don't follow laws. That's why abortion/ guns/ drugs/ sex working and other victimless crimes or violations on rights should be legal. The thing is people always like to cherry pick what laws criminals follow for their own political goal

37 RepliesI feel like if they are going to ban guns they need to do it in all states for it to have any effect. Gun control only work when guns are banned in the entire country.
Howling intensifies
80 RepliesUm...Australia, England, others. Actually, I am really in favor of the Second Amendment (I own several guns). I just think background checks & other things need to be a lot more intense.

gun laws an gun control does not work no. if some one wants to use a gun to kill some one, they will do so regardless of control or laws. also conversely; New Hampshire; least gun regulation in USA 5th lowest ranked state out of 50 for gun crime so having no regulation works just as good as having all the regulation you can possibly have.---> meaning there is almost no point to regulating it at all.
