Today is reset, so expect to see the recruitment section full of lame people requiring "experienced raiders" who must be 380+
For instance I already see a guy who's requiring 385 light and equating that with "raid experience" but has only done Vault of Glass twice. Done Crota once. He doesn't have the Relic of the Aegis grimoire card meaning he's never picked up the relic in VoG. For the veterans here we do not consider those the credentials of an experienced raider, you're just an experienced grinder.
My team did WotM with our friend who was 347 light this past weekend, it was easy for him to hold his own and pick up on mechanics because he's an experienced raider. Only two on our team were 380+.
People like to talk crap on grimoire ("nothing but ghost shells") but when I'm recruiting raiders that's the first thing I look at.
TL;DR it's all in the hips
Happy raiding, and if anybody wants to run WotM if I'm not on with my usual team I'm down, add johnd_oh on PS4

17 RepliesIt's so frustrating carrying 360's in phase 2 of Aksis. I wish it would not let anyone under 370 in at all. Even at 370 people seem to have a hard time not dying. If there's only one 360 something it's not too terrible but fking hell get good gear first. Everyone's in such a rush.

Must be 385+ and have done wrath 3 times that's gunna be my post on Tuesday

6 RepliesWhy do you think that VoG experience is important in a WotM raid group?
-
1 ReplyI mean as a taken tot I've never ran relic on VoG (I have played it tho) and I consider myself to be an experienced raider. I mastered Kings Fall and many people still to this day can't even do Warpriest Aura

1 ReplyEdited by Agent Bankss: 10/14/2016 6:38:27 PMI'm absolutely amazed by this... apparently if someone joins destiny in lets say year 2 or 3, according to the OP, that person will never have the necessary raid experience to do a completely different raid than VoG, Crota's, or Oryx. My mind is blown. With that said, this is the most ridiculous point i've ever heard and to add, the time in which a person enters the destiny community does not have a direct correlation with how competent they are. Edit: Although I have to agree with you that a light req. of 385 is the dumbest thing i've ever heard.

3 RepliesIf you want a solid team, request 5000+ grimore. That's plenty of in game experience
-
To be real, vault of glass became obsolete about a year ago besides the exotic quest and its hardly something anyone should look at when looking for experienced Raiders for Wraith of the Machine.
-
Explain how besting crota or vog? Or holding a vog relic means you have experience in the wotm raid. I can understand not wanting a bad raid team, I just don't see how beating crota helps you beat wotm
-
2 RepliesI don't know what's less original... these types of posts or the ones asking for different matchmaking for trials
-
10 RepliesHere's how I grade someone's WotM knowledge Emblem? No? Kick Outbreak Prime? No? Kick Any Raid primary? No? Kick Have all 3 or any of the 3 and are 375+ Welcome to my raid team. For this Raid, Light Level is 70% of the fight. Captains Murder anyone under 370, Shanks Murder anyone under 370, And anyone under 370 is doing so little damage that they are an active detriment to Aksis damage.

2 RepliesGrimoire is a pretty poor indicator of skill. I do absolutely nothing with the intent of increasing grimoire. I have done everything and am as experienced as anyone at any activity (besides trials because no thanks). My grimoire is subpar, but I guarantee I will be on or near the top of the stat sheet in any raid or pve activity I partake in. The light thing is mainly due to people being impatient and that's people's prerogative. I disagree with it personally, but I disagree with looking at grimoire too, so there's that.

1 ReplyPeople really need to start getting that people asking for 380+ is purely for the fact they have more dps... More dps and general knowledge of this raid it can be done in under an hour, that's 3 raids in 3 hours when it takes some teams 3 hours to do 1 (which is fine I'm not knocking anyone) but us guys over 380 want to get activities done ASAP as we will Be doing the same things every week 3 times for the next year, I'm sick of seeing "entitled 380 teams bla bla bla I done it with a 360 and it was easy" well good on ya mate we could Aswel very easily but why would we when we got 10000 other 380+ on LFG or our friends lists that would love to join up, im sick of seeing people complain about this shit, if you got a problem get your ass to 380 and join a 380 team and watch you do the raid faster then you ever have befor.

12 RepliesEdited by Vitamin ILL: 10/13/2016 3:56:19 AMCan we all just say the truth. We want adults to raid with. Just have a decent light level and know what the hell to do. I don't want to hear you have to go to dinner. I don't want to hear you screech in my ear because your nads have yet to drop. I don't care that Sally kissed Ben behind the dumpster. I don't want to hear an argument about Pokémon or some other game. I don't need to know that you can climb the pyramid as a storm caller. I don't have time to wait for you to take the trash out. No I'm not waiting for dinner time to finish. I don't want to hear dad come in and yell at you for chores. For goodness sake add a damn age modifier

Plus im working alot i didn't get to play ib so my light is low but i almost have max grimoire and very experienced so i agree
-
Grimoire is good to look at all the grinding to get it. Us high scores know what it all took to get it the ones saying it doesn't then they didn't go through everything we had to they won't understand till they do
-
It use to mean something.
-
Grilimore. Yes. Hmm. Yes. I did not know that. Very interesting.
-
You're completely right, light level doesn't equal experience. However, if you're looking for randoms on LFG, that's all you really have to go on. If someone has no clue how experienced two people are, and one person is 380 while the other is 360, of course they're going to go with the 380. It's better to have an inexperienced 380 than an inexperienced 360.
-
You look at how many shiny cards people have to determine skill? Light level is a better indicator, and it's not even a good one.
-
People say only ghost shells but they take up only like 600 of almost 6 thousand grimoire.
-
3 RepliesI put those requirements in too...makes the raid go a lot faster and smoother....I'm 387 light with about 600 raid completions..lol - I guess that gives me the credentials to ask for anything I want...
-
Well to me light level or grimore shouldn't equal experience and this is coming from someone who dies alot. For the record grimore is 5020 and all toons at 380+. All it shows about me is I will grind crucible or look for ghost.
-
2 RepliesI'm down to help inexperienced people, but what drives me insane is when you've wiped for the forth time and then they decide to let you know this is their first time, if you don't know what to do, -blam!-ing tell us god dammit
-
All increased light level does is increase your margin for error
-
He didn't play in year 1 raids, so what? I used to hold back my team, now I practically carry them (Not to brag, just a lil). Douches asking for such high requirements like that are bad anyways

8 Repliesi had a guy yesterday that was talking tradh to me because he got the game when rise of iron came out. and hes 387 and im an alpha player sitting at 386. so i took him to the 1v1 and spanked him for 4 games straight. he got 2 kills the whole time. yes light dosnt mean skill at all.
