Hey,everyone. I need your help. I pre-ordered Destiny The Collection the week before Rise of Iron releases and this will be the first time I'm gonna be playing this game. Right now I'm having a hard time choosing which class fits perfectly for me. So far,I've been thinking of choosing either Titan or Hunter. I was gonna go for Warlock because they are more agile among the rest and I like the way they shoot Nova Bombs from their hands but they have less armor and I know he isn't the type of guardian I wanna be. What I love about the Titan is that he has heavy armor which he can deal heavy damage and I also like the way he looks. Hunter is also good. I heard they are stealthy assassins because they can turn invisible with the Bladedancer sibclass and I do love being stealthy. They are both good classes but I just don't know which to choose. And btw,I might be playing the game mostly solo because my friends aren't always online when I play Destiny. So I wanna know, which class and subclass should I choose (even if I'm going to play the game mostly solo)? Thanks so much in advance.

1 Replywarlock is the most op in crucible and the best all around (stormcaller for groups of mobs and in crucible, sunsinger for them self res, and void walker for anything really) then my other vote goes to titan. Hunter i guess if you wanna be a sexually confused teen like that other guy said.

2 RepliesTry all three, see how you like the way they feel. I love everything about being a Warlock, but it's not for everyone. Lord Radegast brings up a good point, though: Advanced Tracker will be your friend and that's available on the Hunter Nightstalker. However, you can get a piece of gear in the Artifact slot that grants this ability for any class, so.. Try each, see if one speaks to you. If you're meant to be one over the others, you'll know quickly.

1 ReplyI say go Titan, main a warlock cause I'm fond of magic characters, but I absolutely love having titans on my team or going into a raid with them. There are more hunters than damn hive on the moon. Every team wants a Titan.
-
1 ReplyHunters are squishy as hell and have to move around a lot to survive...
-
1 ReplyTry all 3. Delete 1 so you can grind your armor up faster.
-
1 ReplyTitans for fast strategic play Warlocks for interesting ability builds and space magic Hunter's for utility and mobility
-
5 RepliesDepends, when it comes to playing RPGs like Skyrim. Are you a Warrior, an Assassin, or a Wizard?
-
I agree with everyone saying try them all out. I main a hunter but have lots of fun playing warlock and titan also.

2 RepliesHunter if you're a sexually confused teen

Hunter master race

I suggest hunter, and not for the reasons most people will give here. The night stalker radar is a priceless tool when grinding mats and looking for treasure. As a newbie you have a lot of grinding to do and that radar makes it a whole lot easier. Me and my buddies always help each other farm mats as hunters. Side note while I don't believe there is a master class the lower armor and higher mobility of a hunter really trains you for survival in a way the other classes don't. In the end it's between brute strength vs. mobility vs. space magic. There's no wrong choice.

4 RepliesHunter! Because it's the easiest of the 3 to try out in the beginning. As time goes on u will use all 3 characters eventually. By the time u get to warlock u will say"what took me so long. Your choice.

For me it's titan > hunter > warlock. Which is the exact opposite from the order I 'made' them. LOL

Edited by Knight: 10/11/2016 2:15:33 PMWhy not do all of them? You will love to see the variety if you try them all out. Maybe play as one and then switch off. Hope you have fun!

Edited by Shahar: 10/11/2016 2:05:36 PMIf you enjoy fast in-your-face combat or supporting your team use titan If you enjoy fast movement and mobility and boss-killing supers use hunter If you enjoy controlling adds and crowd control use warlock Feel free to add me on PSN if you later need some help with the game

1 ReplyFor a firsttime player, you will be open to either the striker, gunslinger, and voidwalker. Once you hit 15 then you can gain any of the second classes at the start of a new character. Only once you hit around 25-30 you can get the third subclass. Anyways, in terms of good starter classes, I would say take the striker or the gunslinger. The case for all the classes is, each is modeled after a sort of RPG fantasy class. Titans are like warriors, paladins, berserkers, etc. Hunters are like Rogues, assassins, rangers. Warlocks are like mages, shaman, wizards, etc. Anyways why start with a striker or gunslinger? Its because both are very neutral in terms of general shooter abilities. Striker has a lot of good baseline abilities. It does have the best grenades in the game overall, all of them are useful for any mode, it otherwise has a simple but basic melee that does a lot of raw damage, and its super is very easy to learn to use the right way. It does take time to master though. The striker however has a couple downsides, Its generally got a "nothing special" feel to it compared to all the others, your abilities are very limited. They cannot do much on bosses themselves, they otherwise dont bring much ulitlty to themselves or a team. They have "general enhancements" such as better sprint animations, increasing their grenade duration, life steal, shoulder charging enemies, and gaining a short time based forward only shield. The striker does have one special focus of play though, hit and run. Mainly with its shoulder charge and juggernaunt abilities, and with the fist of havoc. It caters to those who want mobility with melee. But this style itself is risk/reward virtually all site and situation. You can play a more reserved striker, but the problem with it is that most of its powers are based on the need for it to stay in motion, aka when it cannot fire its weapon. Likewise it possesses little to no team capability, aside from flashbangs, they are not that effective for PvE endgame content, you can still use them and they work against VIP targets, but thats it. Otherwise they do shine in smaller PvP modes and are basically an anti-everything super by slamming crap. Jumping with lift is fine though, the striker can become a much more leathal force if you do 2 things: 1. learn to titan skate 2. Get the exotic known as the twlight garrison. Otherwise the striker sadly has perhaps the saddest history of the subclasses, it was just, underwhelming in year 1, far into year 2 until they had to update it and give it the current feel it has. Likewise, it has none of the speciality the defender or flexibilty the sunbreaker has. I use the sunbreaker because it has unmatched synergy and just benefits much more. The gunslinger is perhaps more suited if you are looking for range. The gunslinger has a range and keep away aspect on it. Because hunters are the squishest of the group, they need to avoid danger early on until they upgrade their armor and recover. They get a throwing knife for melee which can get headshots as well. The gunslinger has a couple of abilities that make it self sufficent in PvE and PvP though. Pve, you have some nifty ones like gunslingers trance and chain of woe, these allow you to grant more stability and reload speed to your weapons, simply by just killing, its a very simple and effective premise. You can scavenge ammo, gain a second knife to throw, make it a firey knife. Your grenades while average, can cause area denial. The incindary is a nice one though. The super, golden gun is simple, espeically if you find yourself using handcannons. You get 3 shots to fire off very powerful (instant kill in PvP) rounds that can ruin anyones day. Downside, this super grants little to no super armor and its purely on you and your timing and aim, nothing more or less. There are plenty of options but you just need to remember to play at range until later on if you choose to invest more into armor or recovery.

1 ReplyI would say Hunter, Titans are too slow for my liking and I use bladedancer in PvP and Nightstalker in PvE (Player Vs Enemy). Also the warlock isn't a bad choice, I use a bulky setup with Sunsinger, and I utilise speed with Stormtrance and Voidwalker on my second character. Actually why not just try all 3? Assign them numbers and randomly get a number between 1-3 then play that one first. Get to level 5, then try the other 2 and get to level 5 and then decide.

Lock or titan space magic or space punches both are great
-
4 Repliesuse a titan man! if you need someone to teach you and have fun playing the game with, go ahead and add me if you wish
-
If you dont want your class that you are used to playing to get shit on every single patch go warlock. Bungie feels bad for them because their jump is complete shit.

1 ReplySolo play, I recommend Titan. I started Hunter, liked it a lot. Created a Titan, -blam!-ing loved it. Defender and Sunbreaker are my faves, but you will find your groove after some playtime. I also made a warlock, but couldn't get into it. It was cool, but just not cool enough. He got deleted and a 2nd Titan took his place. Really though, play them all, max them all, master them all. By then, you will know your answer.

1 ReplyFor soloing, my titan has served me well but if you do a lot of pvp then the hunter will also be great I'm a titan main myself but i do love being a bladedancer in the crucible as well

1 ReplyEdited by SolarCerberuS: 10/11/2016 5:31:04 AMWarlocks are not agile (trust me I main one) they are good at what this game has for tanking and are great for clearing mobs, I also like void for pvp over the popular stormcaller as I feel stormcallers are too easy to kill (probably the easiest to take down but also can net multikills often). While my character of choice they are often seen as least useful for raiding (for reasons I do not know). Imo they are the best solo players choice. Hunters are imo best option for pvp gunslinger is my choice for both solo pve and pvp (gunslinger combined with celestial nighthawk helm has highest single damage super ingame). In a group I tend to go nightstalker for pve and occasionaly Ill go into pvp as a bladedancer but only since dual skip nades came in after the april udate nerfing of gunslingers tripmines. Titan I play the least mainly due to me being a solo player and titans are at their best in a team (imo of course) For pvp I always roll striker Pve I tend to go sunbreaker and Ill only run Defender if a bounty calls on void abilities to be used. (I dont raid so defender isnt useful for me but for raiding/nightfalls is a great class and good orb generator alongside a nightstalker or gunslinger)

1 ReplyI think a titan would best suit you 😎
