Enough said. I was reading a post earlier and this caught my attention. So here it is. I never ask for anything from this game. But It could help solve alot of issues with the amount of engrams that drop now. If you hate the idea because we know someone always will please say why. But I believe it's a good idea.
Also..... Thanks for all the entertaining posts on a daily everyone. You make these forums awesome.
Edit: Thanks for all feedback, I definitely see some flaws in the idea. It just seemed like a good idea when I first saw it. Hopefully it will just be something Bungie can think about a little bit.
Edit 2: I'd be fine with them stacking at least at the postmaster and then we decode them and have more inventory problems from there... At least if we address the issue a fix can be made for D2.
Please everyone throw gasoline on my fire.... lol
Edit 3: So an Auto decrypt from the postmaster at least? If that slot in your inventory is full it goes straight to the vault. If your vault is full then it stays in place. Also an option to dismantle in the postmaster! Blam! Walah!
Last edit: I really appriciate all the ideas, we really have alot of good ones on here. It's just dissapointing that it takes so much attention on one subject to get Bungie to really look into it. But with a little luck we will see a new idea for engrams in the future. It needs help! Don't just use an app... Implement an multi optional system for people to use to move, decrypt, or dismantle them in game.
Once again, thanks everyone for your input, I really appriciate it. I'm just a long time player and love the game. But never puts up an idea because I figure the backlash would be so bad.

Edited by NinjaMatic: 10/6/2016 3:26:42 AMI guess what we can take away from this all is 1) more inventory is still desired, and 2) a better inventory management system would be great. Batch decryption would be a time saver, but the requirement of having your highest level gear equiped for a chance at higher level drops makes that awkward. I suppose Bungie could just have a system in place that looks at all of your gear and decrypts it according to what your highest possible light could be would help. Having the Cryptarchs as a library might help as well. Instead of a vault, the Cryptarchs could be the repository of all of the "blue prints" you've decoded. If your ghost can rebuild you, why can't it rebuild your gear? This would result in fewer trips back and forth, and items you want could be easilly transfered to your character or storage from one screen. Further more, is there any reason that over stock engrams couldn't go directly to the Cryptarchs? I mean whatever delivers them to the postmaster could surely send them just as easily to them.

yeah that would be sweet. Id just like a 50 page weapon vault.

1 ReplyI want an option to dismantle the cryptarch. Surely those kidneys are worth an exotic or two, right?
-
The least I ask for is to be able to pull items from the post master with the app.

2 RepliesEdited by Hippiest: 10/6/2016 12:33:50 AMSure. Make Engrams stack. Your primary slots are full. 10 blue engrams are stacked. You go to the Cryptarch and open all the primary engrams. Only one stays in your inventory. I guess the rest goes to the postmaster or maybe your vault? But, how is that any different from engrams already being in your postmaster? It'll save a few seconds. That's it.
It's not improving the system. It's just changing stuff around. Same outcome.
2 Repliessorry but disagree, where is all the 'make this work this way' stuff coming from lately, if engrams were to stack can you imagine how insane returning to the tower would be... crazy, bad enough now when i have full inventory and 20 in postoffice, always, always get legendaries from rares... people understand how postoffice works by now, it is a choice to either remain playing if your enjoying the session and maybe risk losing something good as well as lots of rares, or leave activity and return to tower. i used to agree with posts that asked for some order on postoffice, like rares not overwriting legendaries and obviously exotics, now though i think i get it.. IF postoffice got changed either by stacking or sorting engrams ideas people would just use it as storage until it was full... i dislike the mindset that seems to be everywhere i look now on forums, stuff is already Too easy, it's not supposed to be like this, why are people going down this route.. anyway one time i would of supported op's post/idea, i guess now i'm just fed up reading stuff about how the game should be changed, on top of suffering from the cry nerf posts.

Pretty sure developers have been over these solutions and are more qualified than us in implementing the best one. I can only state opinion jn that engrams are fine, but greens are annoying af. Thank you bungie for not sending greens to postmaster
-
My solution would be for engrams to goto your material inventory and stack there. Just another thought Xur's heavy ammo and glass needles should be in the material exchange part. That way it would have instant purchase.
-
My solution to all storage issues would be let engrams stack, and make stack sizes much larger. Like 1000 synths instead of stacks of 100. 1000 planetary materials instead of 200

Yeah buddy

Bump! That would be great

3 RepliesIf you had a stack of 15 engrams, and then decrypted them all, what would happen?
-
1 ReplyYes! I've lost so many items in the post office because of the issue. They want us to grind and try out different things then they should give us ample vault and postmaster space so we can have our trophies. Three years of expansions and we should be able to swim in a vault of weapons and armors like Scrooge McDuck did with his gold.
-
5 RepliesThey stack when displayed at the cryptarch so why not in our inventory...
-
This is both the dumbest and smartest thing I've heard all day.
-
Just do away with green items after a certain level and all green engrams would produce armor or weapon materials. Inventory nightmare over.

2 RepliesWhy is people complaining & "finding an issue" with deleting loot you don't like? Do none of you remember Vanilla Destiny? A green rolled high then you KEPT IT and kept playing while farming for the millionth Spinmetel so you could upgrade your Legendary AND WHEN YOU FINALLY DID IT THEN.... "c'mon, Yoder; Back to the Asylum; you'll be cured of of Year 1 PTSD" Doc??? How'd you get here!? "We've been monitoring you after you left. We thought you were cured..." HOW CAN I BE DOC!?!? Look! People keep whining over things that aren't problems!!! Thorn is even back! "It's not as str....." I KNOW!!! But it shou have NEVER been buffed in the first place! *doc walks closer* Look at me.... These kills.... Still the top with Thorn.... I used it before the buff... *doc hides a needle behind his back* NOW LOOK!!! IT'S BACK! And then.... the only counter to Thorn was another Thorn! *Doc inches closer, in almost whisper range* ...it was everywhere.... Like an infection.... And when you'd put it away, someone else would start again..... AND THE INFECTION SPREADS!!!! *Yoder jumps up as doc tries to subdue him* NO! NOO!!! That's the REAL INFECTION!!! AND I COULDN'T STAND AGAINST IT!!! *Doc inserts the shot in the neck* NOOOO!!!! NO! ....no.... SIVA is not the infection.... We can stop SIVA..... .......but..... ..........Thorn......... *Yoder collapses* "I do apologize for this patient. We don't always allow those with horrid memories of the 1st out.... .....I swear, we thought he was cured. Please, go about you business."

This is a great idea and a simple solution.

omg this is the best idea ive ever heard, it would even help with the vault space problem and its so easy too!

Bump, bump, bumping!!!!!
