So Palindrome is okay ...

But Hawkmoon and Thorn had too much range. Makes perfect sense.

  • Yeah I don't like it it covers way too many ranges and is aim assisted as hell most times u can't compete unless your using one unless your on a large open map otherwise your overmatched and your forced to one to counter takes all the fun out of the game between that and stickies I'm on the verge of trading this game in...

  • I love the palindrome. It's how all hand cannons should be minus the perks. I'm talking about accuracy though. I barely noticed any ghost bullets on the palindrome. I wrecked with it way more than the last word. I don't want hand cannons to have ridiculous range but I want them to have really good accuracy within their ranges. And we should be able to accurately spam the fire accurately too, if the crosshairs are on the target of course. That's my opinion though. I hope they don't nerf this gun.

    • exotics are suppose to be specialized weaponry, not always meaning more powerful. hawkmoon is not palindrome or eyasluna. its not meant to be used in teh same way. slap agg ballistics on it and get close and learn the recoil pattern well. as for thorn, i admit to having no experience with it, but i know it was terribly overpowered back in its day, it now fits its archetype more wich is its downfall. they cannot make a med impact exotic handcannon that is better at the RB/RF eyasluna/palindrome type gun without making it probably the only competitive primary in the game.

      • People complained about Thorn's Dot, and Hawkmoon's random extra damage, but range on either one was never THAT big a complaint. In fact, no one complained about either one until AFTER the vex was nerfed around the time TDB was released.

          I infused it into my Eyasluna. Palindrome kind of sucks. But yeah, the logic behind the two you stated... makes no sense Bungie.

          • Palindrome is a normal hand cannon. You can get the same range out of a Eyasluna and Imago loop with the same rolls. That archetype of handcannons has always been good.

              Palindrome doesn't have 3 LitC perks, it doesn't have a DoT, nor does it have a 13 round magazine. Yes, Palindrome has one of the highest ranges of all hand cannons, but those exotics have their own strengths.

              • It is so -blam!-ing retarded... hawkmoon misses shots / has high bloom already at medium ranges and then they introduce a legendary HC with max Range+Rangefinder ... Nowadays if you don't have fvcking rifled barrel on your HC it is pretty much useless competitively ... So much for not wanting everyone to have the same roll ...

[u][b]Thorn -[/b][/u]Thorn belongs to the lowest impact arc type of hand cannons, therefore it has lower range. On top of that it does damage over time making it the only hand cannon in its class capable of killing in fewer precision shots. [b][u]Hawkmoon -[/u][/b] Hawkmoon belongs to the mid impact arc type of hand cannons and has three luck in the chamber bullets in its magazine, therefore it has less range to balance out the three luck in the chamber rounds.

                  • I think bungie wanted to end the reign of exotic hand cannons but yea I agree they are in a shit spot right now. It should be worth noting that you can't roll palindrome with hidden hand or LitC and rangefinder because they are all in the last perk slot. Also it has the same range as the eyasluna anyway so it's not like it's a new thing that legendary hand cannons are better than exotics excluding last word when sniping.

                    I got the FWC hand cannon drop - the "Wail". It has good perks with third eye and final round, but it's still not as good as my Eyasluna or my Imago. For some reason, it misses a lot more, even when I'm within range and am aiming at the enemy's noggin. If I'm 10 feet away and have a bead on your head, it should hit. But nope. I have a feeling the Palindrome may suffer from the same defect.

                    • Hawkmoon and thorn have exotic perks that make them OP given the same range as a legendary. We'd have another hawkmoon, thorn, tlw meta if their range was equilized to legendary hc status. The only thing holding thorn back in y2 was the fact it wasn't y2.

                      • Don't sweat the Palindrome. Bungie put out a weapon that LOOKS like the be all and end all. It has better stats that you see than the Luna hands down. BUT it is the stats on a weapon that you don't see that makes or breaks the hand cannon class and this bad boy is the king of the vanishing bullets. Gotta love RNG based accuracy.
