Just did Atheon with all 335s...
They didn't know you have to keep the shield up in the middle
They couldn't kill the oracles fast enough
They couldn't clear the supplicants
They didn't know to stay together when shooting oracles
4 out of the 5 didn't know how to use the relic at all
Are there even any vanilla players left?
Edit: yes I did teach them what to do, that's how we beat it eventually. The point of this post was because I was shocked you could be max light level and not know how to do a lvl 30 raid
If anyone wants to do the old raids feel free to add me on Xbox1
EDIT: Since everyone wants to say there's no reason at all to do the old raids, tell me this then. Why do I see so many people complaining about "lack of content" when they are completely ignoring TWO raids?

It's been that way since the dark below dropped and you could just buy your way to max level without ever doing the Atheon raid. So many people simply skipped the raid altogether and never learned. Here's what happened: Atheon pushing/cheesing created a big level gap early on in vanilla destiny. The majority of raiders did it, and got the raid gear quickly. Then the cheese was patched (way too late imo) and people had to do it legit and realized it takes teamwork and actual effort and. So this shit community decided you needed "level 30's only" to beat the hard raid, which made it very difficult for the majority of the community who had never raided and therefore didn't cheese, to ever raid. People wouldn't let you join the raid unless you were 30, but you couldn't hit level 30 unless you did the raid so it was a never ending circle. Remember the phrase "Forever 29" that pretty much saturated these forums back then? That's where that shit came from lol. I think I remember seeing a statistic that showed how less than 15% of Destiny players had completed a raid back then by the time TDB dropped. I'd be surprised if it still wasn't that low of a percentage today. Many people skipped Atheon altogether and never looked back. The majority of people have skipped every raid and just nightfall, PoE and buy their way to almost max level every expansion. Which is why you still see people level 40 that have no idea what to do to kill Atheon, and probably can't do the bridge in the Crota raid either. TL;Dr due to this ridiculous community, many people don't raid, or skipped just Atheon which is why majority Max level/light players still can't beat Atheon Hard without taking 2+ hours.

Nothing beat spending 12 hours on the VoG boss' cuz of people constantly dying n not knowing how to do it cuz everyone pushed them off at the time.

I joined in DB but never got past the 2nd CP in VoG because I only knew two other people who played destiny, and didn't know about LFG :(

That's why I never did raids on this ps account On xbox I have friends who know how to raid but -BLAM!- There are wayyy too many 335's who don't know how to do vanilla raids

We are a dying breed. Not many of us alphas left either. I left for a while but like always something always brings me back. I actually had someone message me asking what the Mythoclast was... Went on to show him Praedyths Timepiece and he couldn't believe elemental primaries existed. Can't help but to remember spending hours upon hours farming a planet to rank my equipment up. Then waiting week after week for 1 ascendant shard lol. Forever 29 club. Will always remember.

Why would you think that having a high ll equates experience in the raids? Especially the old raids.

We still here. I stopped doing the old stuff cause I can't even Vanilla players any more on LFG.

I feel you. Yell at them to use heavy machine guns on the oracles. People that don't have vog weapons always struggle here unless they use an hmg
