Sunbreaker NEEDS a buff

This is beyond frustrating, a direct Hammer to the face should ALWAYS reward the player with the kill. Is it ok that the only roaming Super we have as Titans is so underwhelming ? That its practically literally useless and unreliable ?? absolutely NOT. I don't understand why this issue hasn't been addressed by Bungie yet, especially considering the release of ROI. As it is now Hammer of sol NEEDS to be looked at and reworked, I can't tell you the amount of times HOS has has either 1. direct Hammer failing to take down opponent. 2. Direct Hammers dealing no damage. As a Sunbreaker all I ask for is consistency, if I land a direct Hammer then that individual should be taken down by that Hammer. Also I want to bring up the perk -Flameseeker Forge master and -cauterize. First, flameseeker needs a CONSIDERABLE buff, as it is now the tracking is non existent, and cauterize needs to have no cool down, bringing the damage resistance down was quite enough to allow sunbreakers to be taken down. Now with Forge master ... I went into a private match alone and tested the "extra" blast radius of the perk. First I experimented with and without the perk, my conclusion ? Forge master is only good for making your super last longer and throwing more Hammers [two to be exact] The solution ? Buff forge master by a maximum of 10 % This will allow direct hits to always 1 shot. If these changes are taken into consideration and implemented, then sunbreakers won't be op, but balanced and reliable,. With all this said, I myself can't do much without you guys, please like, share and comment your thoughts, if bungie sees enough people agree, then maybe just maybe they'll give sunbreakers the rebalance and tuning they need. I thank all of you for your patience and reading this far. Bungie if your reading this then please take in consideration, us Titans Deserve a reliable roaming subclass. Thank you.

  • I main Titan and I think hammers are ok. Once in a while some will eat my hammer but I can reliably get 2 kills, unless I screw up, which is basically the average for all the supers. I wouldnt complain if they buffed a few perks in the tree but I have fun w hammer as is now. Maybe an exotic armor piece that gives hammers grenades and horseshoes?

    • I disagree for my own reasons. That was pretty disappointing in the linked video though. Maybe a small (3-5%) damage buff, although I have NEVER had that issue. Unless buffed with a shield, even sometimes during supers, hammers mostly 1-shit for me Anyway, 1. I main Hunter and Titan, switch every 2-3 weeks. I play all subclasses. Sunbreaker has never failed me. Hammers tracking isn't that effective, I agree. But the hammer travel speed and explosion radius is Fine. The hammers have proximity det. People don't realise this. I find myself playing against sunbreakers who always miss. But when I play sunbreaker, it's not that hard. Just a little bit of leading with the hammer, aim slightly above them, and don't get TOO close, or too far. There are some points perk wise that I do agree on, but mostly, I think the super should stay the same. Definitely no radius buffs for the hammers.

    • Sun Breaker is broken in my opinion. Your a Solar Blade Dancer throwing multiply Solar Nova Bombs. Also it's stupid how 1 hammer throw kills my blade from a large distance while it takes 2 swings to kill you...

        • I agree 100 percent. The sunbreakers need a buff before Rise of Iron. Every other subclass has a reliable roaming super so I feel like sunbreakers should be the same.

          • Sunbreaker needs a buff? Look sure Sunbreaker have glitches, but doesn't even super have its glitches. Second if you wanna get kills with Sunbreaker don't pop it when you are being shot at by the enemy team. And 3rd be a bit accurate you don't wanna be shooting hammers everywhere and miss, as you are limited. That's what I think from personal experience.

            • Uh huh. As a Hunter main, I can say this. Shoulder Charge NEEDED a nerf. BUT only on that freaking tracking. (And don't get me started on that sliding bullcrap) I don't have any vids but i'm sure most of you can agree on this. As for Sunbreakers? Give them back some of the explosion radius and projectile speed for the hammers. Maybe reduce Cauterize's cooldown to 2 or 2.5 seconds. (It is 3 atm right?) I really enjoy using SB when I play my Titan, but honestly I detested it when TTK came out. Way too OP. Anyway just my 2 cents.

                • Imo sunbreakers along with voidwalkers are the most balanced subclasses. Perfectly viable in pve and pvp but not op

                  • It looks like Titans are always getting the short end of the stick and almost every time will fall behind Hunters and Warlocks. This is really annoying, Titans need a major rework.

                    • I got a reaper medal with hammers today. It's the lag that's the problem. Same thing happens with other class supers, doesn't always register, if it's a lobby with too much lag.

                    • I wouldn't mind seeing it get reworked like they did with voidwalkers, it would be nice if the hammers were a little bit more consistent as well, and at the moment it doesn't have much utility in PVE especially when Defender is a much stronger option.

                      • Cauterize is great as it is. No cool down was a huge problem due to the fact that Sunbreakers can keep a constant regeneration going if they know what they are doing. Perhaps buff the damage a tiny bit and the tracking also. But no more. I do pretty good with my Sunbreaker as it is.

                        • Do you know how many times ive directly hit someone with shadow shot and they just lose sheilds and push forward and kill me before even getting tethered? Alot. And this has been happening since ttk release. Sometimes shit doesnt go your way. Revive and move on. Most my best games have been played without even using supers. Dont let it effect you. Btw ive also seen 1 hammer kill 3 people so you know sometimes your lucky sometimes your not
